For first few days of the birth the Prophet was
breastfed by his mother.
Thereafter, his uncle Abu Lahab's slave Thuwaybah
suckled him.
Tuwaybah is from the word Sawab which means
reward.
4. Who was Thuwaybah?

When the Prophet was born Thuwaybah gave glad tidings of the news to
Abu Lahab.

As a result she was set free.
●
Thuwaybah also breastfed, Sayyiduna Hamza & Sayyiduna Abu Salma.

Conflicting views about whether she became Muslim. Ibn Mandah says
she became Muslim. (Fathul Bari, 9/124)
Prophet was extremely respectful towards her. Even after his marriage
to Khadija she would visit.

After Hijrah to Madinah, Prophet would send gift to her in Makkah.

Prophet was breastfed by her for 5 – 7 days
5. Abu Lahab's Dream

Sayyiduna Abbas seen in a dream that Abu Lahab
was in Jahanam, he was not comfortable. Abu Lahab
said I get a fingertip of water on a Monday.
He got water because water is a sign of freedom.
He received water equivalent to the space between
fingers and thumb.
6. Who Was Halima Al Sa'Diya

Halima means Forbearing and Patience.
●
Sa'Diya means Fortunate, good luck, happiness.

Tribe of Banu – Sa'ad

Based near Taif – approximately 68 Miles from
Makkah.
She had other sons during the same period.
Because they accepted the Prophet Allah granted
them with abundance of blessings and Barakah.
7. Many miracles were at display

Her Camel which was very old and weak now became active and
comfortable.
Allah granted her barakah that she would produce milk which was
enough for the Prophet and her son.

Her goats would return home with their udders full of milk.
●
For this reason the husband said to his wife:
“By Allah you have taken an exceptionally blessed child”
She replied: “With all true faith I emancipate nothing but barakah from
Allah”
8. Prophet stayed with her from 8 days to 4 Years

After 2 years of witnessing blessing she returned the
Prophet to Makkah but she requested Amina to stay
for a longer period of time.
He stayed for two more years during which the
incident of the splitting of the chest occurred.
This incident made Halima send the Prophet back to
his mother, Amina.
9. Allah recalls the early period of the Prophet's life in the Quran
“Did he not find you an orphan and give you shelter? And he found you
wandering and He gave you guidance. And He found you in need and
made you independent. Therefore, do not treat the orphans with
harshness, nor turn them away when they ask. But the bounty of your,
Proclaim”.

Many virtues in helping orphans in Ahadeeth of the Prophet.
This Quran Ayah teaches us to never forget one's past, one's trials, one's
enviroment and one's origin.
A person must use his past positevely and benefit others who are in that
situation as they understand that experience what they feel and endure.
Why did Allah choose the Prophet to be nurtured in this manner?
