2. The typical settings for a horror are usually isolated,
abandoned or are in hidden dark places, where no one is.
The filming is usually done at night time, however it can be
varied and done in the day, but with a good creepy
location. These locations are used because the normal
person in the audience would never think about going to
theses places, they are so the typical scary places that no
one visits.

3. Colours
The visual styling and colours is what identifies a horror with the genre easily.
There are dark colours used such as black and red. The colour red is usually
linked with blood and danger and the black is a mysterious colour which is
dark and creepy. Every horror film either has black clothes or black rooms in.
Where as the colour white is associated with supernatural horror film. The
colour white is seen as pure and innocent, but is used in horror to contrast
this dark evil colours and to add affect.
Props- This is key in horror as its how the main parts
of the horror is carried out. It also is the main way of
identifying who the villains are. This is with
costumes, machetes, chainsaws, knifes, ropes, tape
and many other gruesome things.
Lighting- This is essential in a good horror the most
common lighting is dark, but sometimes bright white
lighting is good for scenes where the villain is cutting
the Vitim up. Dark shadows is used a lot in horrors this
is with unfamiliar shapes.
