conventional meanings attached to an image or images in the
context of it can be things such as an haunted house,
symbols of death, the bad guy etc.

The visual style of the movie plays a big part in how the
audience preserve the movie many techniques are used to
give the movie the effect it has on screen such as
• Low-key lighting, showing the darkness and shadows for
example.
• Jump cuts to help tell the story.
• Examples of colours that can be used is red which could
represent blood.
4. CHARACTER
The characters used in the horror movie have to play a
particular part which will have to give the horror movie a
scary affect some examples of common characters used in a
horror movie are

The theme of horror film is basically what the storyline of the
film is lots of horror films have many different types of

When creating our setting we will have to think of somewhere
practical that we can use and possibly it has to be local but
most importantly it has to give us the correct horror effect we
need.
