2. The Plot
A husband and wife go on a business trip to Amsterdam. The wife has
to leave early on a flight which later goes missing and is suspected to
have crashed.
A month later the husband receives a call from his wife which shows on
caller ID. He answers the phone and there is a loud noise and the call
ends.
Whilst the husband is with his new girlfriend he gets another call from
the wife she says just one word and the call ends. This happens
continuously every week at the exact time the flight was reported
missing.
3. Why did we chose this title?
We chose the title “The Lost Ones – 227” as it is mysterious and exciting
which would draw our target audience in. It could lead to people
thinking:
• Who are the lost ones?
• Why are they lost?
The “227” links to the recent Malaysian lost plane. As it has been in the
news a lot it could also lure in our target audience.
4. Characters and why we’ve chosen them
Husband played
by: Christian Bale
We chose him
because he is
instantly
recognisable and
would create lot of
interest.
Wife played by: Monica
Potter
We chose her as she has
played in many horror
films before such as
Saw.
5. How are we going to create
interest
The cast has many stars which reaches out to many different people.
The storyline has never been done before and will have lots of interest
from the news coverage of MH17.
We made it a 15 certificate film which limits how horrifying we can
make it but means we have a much larger target audience.
6. What will the narrative be?
Storyline:
A husband receives calls from the wife he thought died in plane crash
which leads to him going insane.
Settings:
Set in modern day in Amsterdam mainly filmed inside, at night, with
low key lighting to match the genre of horror.
Themes:
Insanity, torture and nightmares.
7. Film marketing
We are hoping to hold a online premiere for the film which
people can pay for and have it streamed to their smart T.V or
computer.
For advertising we want billboards in the U.K and the U.S in
places like London, New York and Hollywood. This meets our
target audience as they are film loving cities.
Our film poster is on the right:
8. Conventions within the genre
To make the audience know it is a horror film we will include the
following:
Low key lighting this will make the audience automatically aware
that it is a horror film.
Mainly being set at night in a poor parts of London and New York
which will create horror feel about our film.
