1. Stan is sitting at his desk in the office that he works. The clock
behind him shows that it’s seven o’clock in the evening, and he
looks very tired. He types on his computer and sorts files into
different trays. A cleaner is hovering in the background. The Phone
rings.
STAN: Atkins Pharmaceutical resources, how may I help you? Oh, yes Mr. Johnson.
Camera moves down the corridor to a room with a television, where
ten year old Megan is watching a cartoon. A shadow appears in the
doorway behind her, she turns around in time to see a figure walking
away. She gets up and follows him out of the room.
Scene change to the outside of another office shop. Tracey and Mark
are just locking up.
TRACEY: How about we go for pizza?
MARK: Yeh, sure. It’s not that far.
They start to walk down a reasonably well lit path, arm in arm. Mark
looks at his watch.
MARK: Why don’t we see if Stan wants to come as well. He should be finishing up at the office soon.
Scene change to Stan at the office. Stan checks in on the room with
the television to see that Megan isn’t there.
STAN: Megan?
Scene change to Tracey and Mark. They continue to walk down the
street and as they turn a corner.
TRACEY: Isn’t he looking after his little sister?
MARK: I was sure he was working tonight.
TRACEY: Yeh, he is, his parents drop Megan off at the office with him.
MARK: Well she can come too.
Scene change to Stan at the office. Stan continues to search for
Megan, when he walks past her dead body hidden around a corner.
STAN: Where are you? Megan!
He walks back into the room with his desk, standing at the door way
and looking around.
STAN: Megan?
2. Scene change to Tracey and Mark. They continue to walk down the
street as the lampposts become less and less. Mark pulls out his
phone.
MARK: Why don’t we phone his office?
TRACEY: Good idea.
Scene change to Stan. The mysterious figure comes up from behind
him, and smacks his head into the door frame, before throwing him
down on the ground. While on the ground Stan looks to his left and
see’s his dead sister from down the hallway.
STAN: Dramatic gasp.
Scene change to Tracey and Mark. Mark still has his mobile up to his
face.
MARK: The calls not going through.
TARCEY: That’s strange.
Scene change to Stan’s office. The phone wire on Stan’s desk appears
to be cut, and in the background the murderer approaches Stan. And
then he begins to choke him.
Scene change to Tracey and Mark. The path that they are walking down
has no lampposts any more. Tracey pulls out her mobile and starts to
dial a number.
TRACEY: I’ll try his mobile.
MARK: Ok.
Scene change to Stan’s office. His mobile begins to ring on his
desk, and in the background his struggles become weaker. The
murderer is shown to pull out a large knife and the walls are
splattered with blood dramatically, while the phone continues to
ring. Stan crawls to lean against the wall by his desk, clutching
his side in pain. The figure casts a shadow over him as he comes
closer, and Stan’s phone shows a missed call.
Scene change to Tracey and Mark. They have stopped in the middle of
the dark path as Tracey looks down at her phone.
TRACEY: He didn’t answer.
Scene change to Stan’s office. The murderer stabs Stan in the chest.
A close up of his face shows that he dies.
Scene change to Tracey and Mark. They are linking arms and have
started to walk again.
3. TRACEY: Oh well, it’s on the way to the pizza shop anyway.
MARK: Yeh, let’s just call in and see what he says.
A behind shot of them walking away.
MARK: He’ll probably be glad to see us.
Scene change to Stan’s office. An outside view of his office shows
him leaning against the wall, dead, in a pool of his own blood. The
lights flicker a few times, and when they come back on, Stan has
disappeared and the blood has gone. Everything looks normal.
