transmit to others the meaning of the sea for the Portuguese nation;
- use dance in all its extent and potential, using movement and liveliness as a
language, transmitting feelings and emotions.

b) Coordinates music and rhythm;
c) Runs the choreography movements smoothly;
d)Expression of feelings and emotions.

Unit: Human Body Class: 7th F (Évora, Portugal) / Level: Lower Secondary Level Subjects: English and Dance Teachers: Dance teacher (Maria Manuela Góis); Project Coordinator (Maria Isabel Carreira) Number of lessons: 1 Competences: - • By the end of the unit students will be able to: - express and write feelings and emotions about the human body… - speak about Portuguese culture related with Portuguese Discoveries and to transmit to others the meaning of the sea for the Portuguese nation; - use dance in all its extent and potential, using movement and liveliness as a language, transmitting feelings and emotions. - speak with their body, to define their feelings and show its potential. Content Language/Terminology (words and phrases) Main target knowledge (English lessons)  Vocabulary related to the topic “human body”: feelings and emotions; discoveries and the sea;  Adjectives related to abundance, beauty, freedom and mysticism, the feeling of departure, farewell, tears and homesickness;  Adjectives related to feelings or psychological traits. (Dance lessons)  Body Coordination: - Agility - Balance - Rhythm - Space/Time  Students will be able to: - Know their body; - Adjust body movements to rhythm; - Express feelings and emotions through dance; - Relating culture and heritage with the exercise of dance.

Process Tasks Types of interaction - Interactive dance rehearsals in which students were involved in the task , taking an active role in the design of movements; - The choreography resulted from suggestions from stakeholders; - Presentation of the dance lesson by students. - Group work - Individual work - Individual and pair work Resources / Materials - Computer, - Dance cloths, - recording material Assessment - The assessment is aimed at the process. Students are asked if they had fun, what they liked most and what they didn’t like; - Students were assessed on the following parameters: a) Performs a simple choreography; b) Coordinates music and rhythm; c) Runs the choreography movements smoothly; d)Expression of feelings and emotions.
