Editor's Notes
ICAT (International Cross-curricular Accelerator for Technology) is a new type of university-based accelerator launched this year at the College of Charleston.
The ICAT experience is designed to change the lives of up to 96 students per year through experiential learning as high-tech company founders, creative innovators and project engineers.
ICAT launches its first class in January 2015.
The program is designed to adopt best practices from US accelerators and our international partners at Tartu University in Estonia. The key features of the ICAT experiences:
1. Interdisciplinary – each team (3 students) is composed of one student each from computer science, business and liberal arts. You will align with one role and learn the other two.
2. Technology biased – we provide each student team with the technological competency to help start a business or collaborate with a corporate project team.
3. Mentor based – each team will have the asset of a business mentor.
