Bara
Bara is mouth watering delicious lentil pancake. Any type of lentil like black lentil, green
lentil,red lentil and other types can be used to make bara. This bara is used occasionally. Only
some special occasion include this in food. Special occasions like wedding ceremonies,
birthdays or some happy moments. It is used with Newari Khaja Set too and named as
“Samhebaji”. This food bara is used for good-luck i.e this food is presented as good luck food
and normally used during some occasions where you have to wish good luck. Since Bara is
made up of lentil so it is veg item but you can add egg and kima in it to add more flavour in it.
Some people want to eat it plan and some want to eat with meat with soup. The best way to
eat bara is hot bara with meat soup.
Choila
Choila, the name itself is saying i m non veg item. It is made up of two words Choi and la. Choi
means burned and la means meat. Traditional choila is made by burning the meat in the fire and
when cooked then cut into pieces and mix some tomato, garlic, coriander and other. Nowadays
people dont have time to do all these thing so meat is boiled and then cut into pieces and mix
with other necessary materials and known as “Man Choila”. It is usually eaten as snacks while

it won't taste like buff choila. So that buff choila is famous among all.
Sapu Mhicha
Sapu Mhicha is a "tripe bag"; and is a special dish consisting of buffalo leaf tripe filled with bone
marrow. it's cooked and fried. Sapu Mhicha is a specialty of the Newari culinary art of the
Kathmandu valley and is prepared throughoutspecial occasions. The delicacy is one among the
dishes served to honor a person when he goes to the house of his wife's parents for festival dinners.
it's served when the main course and before dessert. It's used as the snack and have with some
Babbage.
Buffalo leaf tripe is cut into little pieces and also the layers separated to create baggage. Diced bone
marrow is stuffed into the baggage. The gap is gathered and tied with a bit of thread to shut it. The
baggage is then cooked and fried. The eater puts the entire Sapu Mhichā within the mouth and bites
it off, effort the tied finish between the index finger and thumb. This manner the melted bone marrow
