Media And Art Analysis
An artist's chosen media controls their entire artwork. I feel as though the media are the most important part of a work of art because it can
determine how art makes us feel, how we interpret it, and how long it takes to create. With having so many forms of media such as: architecture,
paint, sculpture, drawing, and printmaking, an artist has a wide array of directions their artwork can go. Furthermore, I think that when an artist
commits to a medium they have already narrowed down the type of art they are going to create and this greatly influences the amount of time their
art will take to create. By having such expansive, and various options for media, I feel as though artists truly have all control over the process of
designing their art. Some of the aspects of the creative process that are affected by the media are: cost, materials used, color schemes, and textures....

After noticing the medium used by the artist, I already have an expectation, or sense for the overall feeling and purpose of the artwork. I also tend to
have more appreciation for an artist that uses a difficult medium or someone that uses a medium they are not accustomed and familiarized with
because they had to step out of their comfort zone and also put that much more work and love into their art. By giving that much more effort to step
out and do something they are not comfortable with, artists can stand out more and reach out to other viewers of art and in turn become that much
more successful of artists. Media is a very important component of art because of it being the first step in creating an artwork, and it is also something

Arts In Education Analysis
Student's Education
"In Analysis: Arts In Education"
Are the arts important in education? For some people the answer would be yes and for others it would be no. When I say arts I am referring to art,
dance, drama, and music. Some people say that the arts are important and necessary, while others say that it is important not necessary. Individuals say
that important is the same as necessary, but they aren't the same. Important is of great significance or value, likely to have a profound effect on
success. Necessary is defined as required to be done, mandatory. As you can see they are quite different. While some things that are necessary can
indeed be important, but important things aren't always necessary. I don't believe that the arts should be mandatory, but I do feel that it is always an
option. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those students will take away from everyone else's learning and fun. While there are many statistics pointing to high scoring on tests when individuals
are exposed to the arts I believe that the only reason is because the students want to be there. Arts in education are great, but lets not make it mandatory.
Art is important because it helps get the creativity flowing. Your imagination grows when you draw. Pictures help you learn vocabulary words.
Have you ever heard that saying that a picture is worth a million words? Well, when you are little before you can read you used the pictures from
the book to make up your own story. Almost always your story was close or somehow related to the story. For ADHD kids art would be good for
them because it gives their hands something to do while preoccupying their brains. Some people aren't artistic and that is why they would vote against
it being

Art Museum Analysis
When walking into the freshly built art museum of West Virginia University one can automatically feel a sense of serenity. The spacing of the art
pieces and the way the light hit them makes you want to take your time and examine every detail each work has to offer. It gives you no other
choice but to give your full, undivided attention to one piece at a time. The way this museum was designed made it so I almost forgot about the rest
of my day. Where I had to be later, what class I had, when I had to be in for work, all of those everyday thoughts and worries seemed to disappear
when walking through those doors.
The piece that really stood out to me was a work by Thomas Cole. Cole's piece caught my eye due to the simplicity of it. He took something as
simple as a landscape and made it extremely detailed and organic. If you take the time to look closely you can almost see where he made each
individual brush stroke. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though those seem to be bold, you can see the delicate detail put into each section making the piece flow beautifully. His strokes are smooth, yet
uneven, giving the piece an interesting twist. The background offers a somewhat ominous sky, using what seems to be only whites and greys. The
background seems to be the most muted part of the piece whereas the middle ground really grabs your attention with its vibrant colors. Cole uses
yellow and muted brown to pop against the hues of green in the trees. These pops of color among the tree scape really make this the focal point of the
piece. The foreground offers a very earthy feel with a simplistic pasture. Broken colors of green and brown are used to display the ongoing
naturalistic feel this work displays. Towards the right of the piece you can see some sort of animal. Cole being a famous American landscape artist
would make it only obvious to have animals in some of his

Art Class Analysis
In this class art has taught me many things that I didn't know before or that they were associated with art particularly. This has gave me the
opportunity to appreciate art and what it gives us the chances to do with it. Art also has changed my views on many things. To be specific, according
to what I have learned in this class, it has changed my view on the role art has in reflecting social, economic, and humanistic issues. Also, I have
learned many new artists that had works that were particularly meaningful in expanding my view of the world. All in all, art has many things to it to
learn and appreciate from and to give you the chance to learn something that is creative and beautiful that you didn't know about before. I have learned

For example, the Tempietto which is the Church of S. Pietro in Montorio by Donato Bramante is one. The building is based on ancient round
monuments, some of which commemorated dead Roman emperors. Without this, I would not have known about this amazing church in Rome. It's
expanding my view by giving me the opportunity to discover buildings that I haven't known about and maybe would never get to see in person.
Another example is, the Hagia Sophia which is in Istanbul, Turkey. It is one of the most magnificent domes in the world was designed for the
Byzantine cathedral of Hagia Sophia "Holy Wisdom" in Istanbul. It was built in the sixteenth century as the central sanctuary of the Eastern
Orthodox Christian Church. After the Islamic conquest of 1453, minarets were added and it was used as a mosque. This was one of the most
amazing mosques I have ever seen. To know that one day maybe I could go over there and pray is just absolutely amazing. The interior of the
mosque is very beautiful and spiritual. It has arabic writings on the domes which have the name of God "Allah" and his prophet Muhammed(pbuh).
This has changed my view on the art word because to know that your roots could have built this with the remembrance of God and for you to pray in
is just simply amazing and emotional. And that I know for a fact that I would wanna go there

Museum Of Art Analysis
My little legs shuffled along as tried to catch up to my mother, taking the marble staircase two steps at a time. "Why is she so excited," I thought to
myself. She slowed down as we entered a tall room, colors and frames and canvases lined along the walls. I followed behind with an unimpressed
glare across my face and mumbles upon my lips: "Why do we always have to come to the art museum." I had seen more art than any other
twelve–year–old I knew. In fact, at the time I was fairly certain that I had seen more art than anyone I knew.
She shushed me as we stepped into a small, dark room tucked away in the corner of the museum. She pointed to a painting not much bigger than my
head, and I walked into the surrounding pool of light. The plaque underneath the painting read "Woman Holding a Balance–Johannes Vermeer" I stood
still for probably the longest I ever had, so perplexed by what hung in front of me. My mind tried to comprehend how the artist could use shape and
color to make such an ordinary woman appear so complex. I wished to have that same ability to transform lives and ideas, and for one solitary
moment I understood why my mom had dragged me here all these years.
As a teenager, I begged my mother to take me to art museums, I listened to her talk about every painting she knew, ... Show more content on

"here she goes again." That was when I became most connected to art. I didn't know many kids that spent their time on the internet researching why

Giambologn Art Analysis
Our first piece of art, on the left, is titled Rape of a Sabine by Giambologna in 1583. This is a three–dimensional sculpture that has many curves and
points of view. You can circle around this sculpture and find aspects of it you couldn't visualize at one point. The faces of the sculptured men and
woman have a look of despair, sorrow, and misery that create for a very dramatic piece. Rape of the Sabine tells a story of roman men seizing
Sabine women to marry them in order for the city of Rome to grow and become more powerful than it was. Our second artwork it named Nude
Descending a Staircase by Marcel Duchamp in 1912. This style of work is called Futurism and honors movement and contempt for the past. Duchamp

Less Than: Art and reductionism and Denise Green: Beyond and Between – A painter's journey. A comparative Essay written by Thomas Brooks,
Benjamin Dutton, Jasmine Smith and Megan Thomason. Collection displays inhibit the ideologies of a singular conceptual premise under the
constraints of the viability and range within the institutions collection, whereas the tasks involved in composing a monographic show, including the
original parameters of an institutionН›s collection, result in further curatorial concerns (George 2015, 39). How does the curatorial rationale and

The audience is inclined to take in GreenН›s practice at large rather than gaining a deeper insight into each pieceН›s individual context (George, 2015,

is transformed due to the associations drawn by the curator and presented to the viewer through the exhibition rationale. The correlation between both

capitalism through the use of a financial algorithm depicted in the form of three over–sized gypsum and acrylic polymer letter–forms mounted to the

Art Class Analysis
What is Art? In my previous post about what I thought art was, included multiple different ideas of creative expression. My original post was very
limited on basic knowledge of art, and I was not including in depth explanations of art. I mentioned that art could be found in paintings, drawings,
sculptures, literature, music, etc. I never thought to state how many different types of paintings there are, or even the multitude of different types of
literature and music. This class taught me the art is not just something that pleases the eye, imagination, or ear. Art has meaning. I learned a lot my
first couple of weeks of this class, and a lot of that came from the lecture, as well as the artists of the week videos. My favorite artist of the ... Show

The only thing that changed for me is that I am now able to appreciate art pieces that I might not have understood before this class. I learned a lot
about myself in this class, and I also found out that I have newfound love for paintings and sculptures. This week I went to the Riverside Art
Museum as part of the Capstone Project, and I realized I was telling my mom about some of the visual elements in a painting, or how a person
would view a painting in Panofsky's three levels of meaning. I used to only appreciate music and literature, because it was something that was easy
for me to understand and something I always loved to explore. Now I find myself looking at drawings or paintings from several different people,
and appreciating it more than I ever have. This course is focused on paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photography, and that allowed me to move
out of my artistic comfort zone and explore new things. The only that changed from my original What is Art reflection is that I can now interpret art,
and I am able to relate to pieces of art that reflect being happy or sad, because I am able to understand where the artist is coming from. That's what art

Creating Art Analysis
The feel of the brush and the smoothness of the stroke when paint meets the canvas. This feeling is what I strive for. Art to me is an escape and
simply to put it in terms is my way of life. It's not just my hobby, interest, or talent it is so much more to me. When I decide to create something it
comes from an inspiration that overcomes me. I have many ranges of art that I do such as, painting in oil, acrylic, or watercolor. Several of my
pieces of art is from graphite pencil. Most of my topics are of people or well at least the faces of the people. I mainly draw what I like to but
sometimes I will take request from people and draw them what they want. The reason that I tend to draw faces more than anything else is because I
like to express my feelings through the facial expressions of the ones I draw. Creating art gives me a fulfillment, one that makes me feel like I've
done something good. I don't just do it because it makes me feel good but because I enjoy it. Making something that shows my emotions and then
other people start to feel what I feel without words. The way that this can be really seen is when the facial expressions change to what... Show more

A new perspective to look at things not saying that I see things differently but I tend to look at things different ways. Such as when you look at a

passionate about, something to love. Not only that but something to look forward to when my day becomes not so happy. It has created me a future a
happy future of doing what I want and not stuck wishing I did something that I enjoy greatly. Through art I've learned what appeals to the eye of the
average human. When helping someone pick the colors to paint their room and what colors the furniture should be. I know what colors go together to

Christopher Willey said that we should use the word "experience" instead of "look" when referring to art pieces. Because, we are doing far more with

Ok maybe not that far apart, but that's the feeling the viewer gets when looking at their pieces. There's also different experiences from each that
are widely different. For Cochran the viewer needs to think deeper and further than they're used too. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just
that it's somewhat unnerving. Why? You say could because the viewer is truly getting an understanding of the pieces. In that feelings are being
brought out because of a piece, feelings that the viewer had no idea art could bring out. Now if we were to relate this to Durkin's' pieces they are
"worlds apart". Overwhelming joy, is simply all the viewer can feel from her pieces. The viewer is caught off guard and can only smile no matter
how much it hurts. These two artists make the viewer have practically two different experiences, ultimately depends on the viewer. But never the less

When I first saw this painting I saw bulls and explosions. But the more I looked at the painting the more I was able to try to understand it. The next
thing I saw in the painting were bulls in a pin, all trying to escape the chaos happening in the pin. And finally, when I got home I looked up what the
painting name means and realized that what I was really looking at were donkeys in a soup bowl.

more you are able to infer. The next thing, I thought this painting was trying to infer was about how hectic life can be, and how we all want to be in
the calm (outside of the pin). To me the artist is trying to get out of the hardships of life. Showing that while some people are able to get out of these
hardships, others do not. But, I have no idea what the artist actually meant, this is because, the painting had no description under it and I could not find
out about it on the internet, so I have no idea what the artist meaning of this painting is. I just know the title's translation, which is soup of donkey. So,

I am Alicia Miller, entrepreneur, and owner of the business "Art and Soul." "Art and Soul" is an art studio and supply shop for all types of artists. I

At last, I came up with the final design of a teaching location mixed with a supply shop. I, for one, think it was my best idea out of the three. The

Installation art is an embodied and immersive experience, which can affect the way people navigate and experience a particular space. It has the ability
to activate the viewer's mechanisms of perception and ultimately awareness of a place. This occurs through the stimulation of the senses by interaction

Kusama is a conceptual artist and self–proclaimed 'obsessive', whose daring works has been dealing with notions of repetition. Her stunning and wildly
abstract composition of dots, the 'Obliteration Room' is entirely covered with endless coloured dots, which is a representation of the artist's psyche,
wherein hallucinations have haunted her since childhood. She utilized "ready–made" materials, stickers to create her immersive installation. Kusama's
ongoing obsession with repetition creates an infinity perception of the space, which creates an illusory atmosphere that confuses the viewer's
perception and spatial orientation. The unique sensory and psychological experience enables each viewer to momentarily get "lost" in Kusama's
mesmerizing world. The choice of a domestic environment with specifically local characteristics is intended to create an air of familiarity that makes
participants, especially children, comfortable to engage with the installation with little or no prompting. Kusama really fits into art history, and she was
there in late Surrealism and the birth of Pop Art. She has a relationship to Minimalism and in the beginnings of performing art, but she was never

Art Statue Analysis
At first glance of the two statues, they look as if they were part of a bigger, grander arrangement. They both have similar style of carving,
composition and go together well. So one can suspect that they may have been pulled out of a group even without prior knowledge of the people the
figures represented. There are subtle details in both art pieces that helps to convey the emotions without being too dramatic to the viewer. For
example, the position of the art work's hand or the slight leaning of the head. These may seem to be too inconspicuous to convey a message, but when
one sees all these elements come together in the piece, it all makes sense. The main focus of these art pieces are the emotions they convey and not
necessary the craftsmanship of the artist. The artist is able to capture the viewer's attention by making the art pieces convey their messages through

Art Analysis: Monet
For what purpose was this work originally made? What is its in situ? o The purpose of the piece is for the viewer to see the landscape as Monet saw it
in the mornings of 1987. The painting's in situ, I believe, is in on a wall or somewhere where a viewer could enjoy it. I don't know if there is a specific
place like Titan's Pesaro Madonna is in a church at a specific location so that Jesus is centered when you first see it. I see this this piece as more for it
to be seen in general and not in one specific place or angle.
Why did an artist make this work? o Monet created this because he saw something he wanted to share with the world. He believed that there was
something special about the mornings while on the Siene that people wouldn't normally see or see at all. His goal was for people to understand his
view of the beauty in these scenes through his paintings.
What job did it do within a culture? o The job was to further the concept of painting en–plane air and painting what the artist saw as he saw it. Monet
was there to go out and paint the beauty of the world and share it with other. It was also to continue to share ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Is there some larger philosophical, historical, or social context that informs the work? o The historical context of this painting was during a time of

the domestic side of life. They were not allowed to leave the house freely like men unless they were accompanied. It brings together the rise of

Title: Cuteness and Loneliness Life is full emotions like happiness and sadness. People sometimes feel happy, joyful, and cheerful, but sometimes
sadness or depression. Edward Hopper and Takashi Nakamura draw their paintings to express different feelings. In Edward Hopper's painting
"Morning Sun" (1952), he displays the image of a woman looking outside alone in order to symbolize the woman's feelings about "depression," but
also how she still has "hope" for her own life. On the other hand, in Takashi Nakamura' painting "Kaikaikiki New" (2009), he displays the image of
many cartoon–like characters in order to symbolize feelings of "happiness" Therefore, the two artists express opposing feelings in their works. In

sitting on the bed alone, holding her legs, and I can see her struggle for her life. Her eyes tell me her feelings of not only "depression" but also
"hope." Also, in Edward Hopper's image, he uses darker and brighter colors to symbolize the "depression" and "hope" in this image. Overall,
brown and dark brown can be seen throughout the wall, and there is no warm color in her room, such as red or green color. The dark colors give
the observer a sad and troubled impression, so the darkness symbolizes the woman's depressed feeling. In addition, when Hopper colored her bed a
bluish color, it gives me a cold impression, and she is sleeping on the cold bed during the night. However, Hopper used a lighter color on the place

the observer feels that the figure is receiving light straight at her. So, even though her face looks sad, she is still receiving light from her front so that it

Art Analysis: Hung Liu
Hung Liu is a Chinese–American contemporary artist. In the Scales of History exhibition, her artworks mostly illuminates Chinese history. However,
Dirty Pink expresses an American issue. From my perspective, this is the most striking artwork that she had created. It is an oil on canvas media. The
painting was created in 2015. Although this painting does not eminently reflect Chinese history, it provides a sense of history throughout Liu's lifetime.
Taking this to account, she incorporates American history in Dirty Pink. Through shading, Liu creates volume to show a forlorn emotion. The line
quality also expresses apathy. Besides, she uses the subtractive color system to control light with the mixed pigments. In this oil painting, the mixed ...

It is apparent that a cypsela fruit seed shot out of the dandelion's capitulum. The fluffy white ball of the capitulum harnesses the fruit seeds. The seeds
of the dandelions causes weed to spread sporadically after it flies and lands on an optimal environment. Although this flower is a common weed,
superstitions convey that the dandelion symbolizes hope and survival through difficult challenges. Typically, a person blows out the fluffy white ball
from the dandelions in order to make a wish. These dandelions are also known as the wishing flower. In this case, the painting depicts that the Dust
Bowl was a challenge to Americans in the past. This historical moment is captured by the painting to commemorate the adversity Americans had
experienced. Weeds grow unwantedly and compete with crop plants. Despite the negative effects of weeds, they represent prosperity. In comparison,
the double standard of dandelions indicate that success still prevailed during the Dust Bowl. Without this historical period, Americans would not have
been able to learn and grow from the Dust

Digital Art Analysis
n this paper, I will be analyzing the following piece of digital art. Now the first thing I notice when I look at this picture is the color, it's mostly
calm or cool colors mostly shades of blue or white. Which can mean many things that this person was feeling calm or was in a relaxed state while
making this piece of digital art . or that he was depressed . The open theme of this picture brings a sense of calm and peace to me. The what look to
be planets surrounding the tower in the middle also could have multiple meanings for instance they could represent the multiple possibilities of life or
metaphorical worlds such as love life or social world etc... everything in this picture is taking place above the clouds possibly stating that this
individual is above said problem. Or he has reached a mental state where this doesn't affect him. The architecture gives a fantasy/historical feeling that
swallows you in a calmness. Each individual planet is rotating on a different axis suggesting different time or different place in the universe.... Show

The artistic quality of the clock and the design of the ceiling and the tower itself fascinates me because while being very aesthetic it has a certain
functionality to it. The sharp metal wrappings around the staircase give it a fluid look like it it is all moving in one direction. And it has vines
wrapping around it giving it a kind of life about it. Overall the tower shows an artistic value of a mixture historical art,art that mimics movement and,

Escher's Art Analysis
Continuing with my self promotion pieces to get PalbergWERX Design + Photography noticed in this over stimulated communications age, I began
work on my second famous artistic image in history. You can read Part 1 in this series HERE.
[Click and drag to move]
This time I choose M.C. Escher's work 'Humanity'. Again, there have been numerous imitations and this ribbon type illustration is well known to the
general public.
This is a much more challenging project as the illustration is very precise in how it is able to convey the front features of both characters as well as
make a believable ribbon that shows both the volume and shape of both heads.
As I mentioned, it was important that the work was now in the creative commons, even if I was not going to use the original work in my promo piece
itself. Below is the image that I achieved in my first try at this. In hindsight, I had a few issues that I didn't fix, but will highlight during this article.
[Click and drag to move]
The first step is finding a suitable photo – in my case, I wanted two images of myself – but, not mirrored and somewhat posed like the original Escher
heads.
In my case, because I don't have long flowing hair – haha – it was easy to mask out my head from the background. This isn't strictly necessary ... Show

I began working the text in InDesign, just to find the right font combination as well as a rough layout. I soon realized that writing the text all on a
single line would be much too long for the image and the result is that the text would be too small in proportion to the heads, it just wouldn't look
right. When I placed the Palberg above the WERX I knew I was then going in the right direction. For the most in control I created a unique layer for
each letter and then just moved them around until the composition looked right. Next it was time to customize the

The Han Art Analysis
In ancient times, art was often made to become a burial object for the tomb of a respected individual. The Chinese are apart of this tradition and this
mingqi or "spirit object" of a dog belongs to the religious concept of following the deceased into the afterlife. The artist of Mingqi (standing dog) is
unknown but the period of the artwork falls around 250 to 200 BCE, during the Han Dynasty. Though much is unknown or undefined about this work,
the visual components reveal the aim behind the artist's choices. The Han artist focuses on the media, ceramic techniques, and composition to fulfill the
role of a protection vessel.
Mingqi (standing dog) is a clay figurine of a dog standing on all fours. The dog's mouth is agape and the ears point upwards. The clay has carved
eyes and whiskers while a harness and curled tail remain raised. Beneath the tail, a circular hole is present while a less intentional hole lies
underneath, on the stomach. Intact green glaze coats the upper part of the sculpture while the clay is visible on the lower body of the dog. ... Show more

The Mingqi (standing dog) is earthenware, terracotta, or a fired clay that is porous. This type of ceramic results in an earth tone of orange and brown
and the lower half of the artwork shows the original hue of the terracotta. Revealed because of deterioration, the vibrant orange creates a contrast of
color to the dull green of the glaze. Terracotta can be without glaze but this Han artist finalized the work in glaze and covered the original coloration
with a more impacting

Paddock's Art Analysis
Paddock is known for many different art media fields such as sculptor, graphic design, and furniture designer. I was inspired, however, by his
paintings and knew of him through those as well. I chose to recreate one of Ewing Paddock's paintings from the London Underground series. I was
inspired by his works because each of them are unique and diverse. Paddock's paintings also interested me because they were all recently painted. He
started the London Underground series in 2009 and it took him three years to complete 25 canvases, painting around 70 people. In each of his paintings
you can see the emotion that the person is giving off which is one reason I enjoy them. All 25 of the canvas are super interesting to look and see the

Art Showcase George Rodrigue: Art Analysis
Art Showcase George Rodrigue I chose George Rodrigue for my art showcase project, because his artwork was one of a kind. He was born on March
13th, the year of 1944. George was born in New Iberia in Louisiana. He spent most of his childhood life living there. George passed away in 2013,
December 14th, unfortunately from lung cancer. One of George's biggest accomplishments was his paintings with his famous Blue Dog. His Blue
Dog artwork was very eye catching to everyone, he got very well known for it and got tossed up to world–wide fame. His renaissance landscape
flourished into modern masterpieces. His creativity was outstanding. His landscape Joe's Lost Boat has amazing shading, its a very famous piece of

Assignment: Art Analysis
1. It was hard to get the feet to look realistic. The detailing part was hard to. Like you had to get all the contrast, structure, movement, and realism. It
was hard especilly because in my painting my feet were small. Another hard part was getting the right shade. Like ppaint the feet a color and then
make it a little darker for the areas that neede shading and dimension to give a realistic/ contrast to distinguish the difference. It was hard to get a shade
that wasnt dramatically drker that the feets color.
2. If i started all over again theres a lot of things id change. Id start painting the ballerinas first. Then the stars, then id paint the whole background, and
finally the letters. When i was painting i started off by doing the stars. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Id give myself an A or a B. The theme of this assignment was feet with letters. My painting was like a poster to a ballerina dance academy. I painted
many feet, ballerinas, letters, detail, highlight, and gave contrast. I think my painting showed im capable of painting with ability. Even though the
theme was feet and letters and i went all out, if i was a teacher id give that student an A or even extra credit. Why? Because thats creativity thats what
arts about. Id be happy that my student got inspired behind the concept of the new project and decided to go all out and put in more time, effort,
creativity, and detail.
4. I would grade myself with an A or B. Because I was able to sketch the whole thing in a day. The painting process took about a week, thats seems
quick to me. Especially for the amount of detail, intricate designs, and patience. I think my painting looks great for the short amount of time it took to
complete. And im happy with it.
5. Um I wouldnt say their the best. But i think they look good. Im happy with the way they turned out. In total i painted 7 feet. Some are just feet,
common stances ballerinas do, ballerinas performing a trick with their feet in a certain position, or designs that involved the ballerina with her feet. I

Art Analysis: Theatercnu
a.Graphic– My graphic is meant to be reminiscent of CNU's sail symbol without simply copying it with the letters "TheaterCNU" beside it. They
represent sails in motion, more curved than the edgy and sharp CNU sails. Theater is fluid and constantly moving, and that should be represented
within the graphic. These sails are also facing the opposite direction of CNU's sails, showing that theater is moving in a creative new direction that is
complimentary to CNU's core beliefs. TheaterCNU is meant to be expressive of these values in ways that are particular to this art form, and that
should be seen in any symbol of the department. Looking at the mission statement, this brings in "artistically stimulating," "expression," and
"appreciation of the art of theater as central to the liberal arts." The three sails also represent "theater's role in the past & present, & its future purpose
in the world." While it retains its professionalism, this graphic has a new dimension that the old graphic could not represent. The selling point is... Show

Color– Three different shades of purple were assigned to each sail within the graphic, and the typeface was black. I wanted the graphic to pop from
the text to emphasize its significance. The differing colors also highlight the past, present, and future dynamics that were discussed within the
"graphic" section. The brighter colors growing darker as the eye travels from left to right provide a solid transition to the black for the typeface.
Since purple is a cool color, using multiple shades of it along with black does not look as unnatural as it would with any other color. Additionally,
purple has been commonly associated with regality and royalty for centuries, and I found that appropriate in regards to the historical and modern
significance of theater. This lends its hand to the creativity in the theater, and adds this easy transition between artistic expression and CNU as the place
for this (as is true in the selling point of

Here we are; another week, another article. Last time we covered the heavy stuff, including the early history of oriental rugs and some common
terms to familiarize yourself with. This week we're talking about what's on the rugs: their designs! I tend to be kind of an art geek. What can I say?
I'm drawn to interesting images, and art has some of the most intriguing images to offer. Art galleries, museums, art blogs; all of it! What I love most
about art is the meaning behind the shapes and colors chosen. Granted, not all art has a deeper meaning beyond whatever the artist splattered onto a
blank canvas. In that case, it's all in the eye of the beholder. Oriental rugs feel like art to me, and I like to collect art which is why buying an oriental...

Example Of An Art Analysis
This was an art analysis paper that I composed for my AP World History class in my 11th grade year. For this assignment, we were asked to review
an artistic, three dimensional piece that we would ultimately develop an analysis paper for. We were given the whole day at the art museum to
pick our piece(s) as well as write all of the information we could about it. In this case, I chose to do my analysis paper on a set of Buddhist
ornaments used to decorate the famed Buddha in ancient religion. Our goal for the paper was simple: complete a one page concise paper using the
information we collected, as well as our background knowledge, about the motives and expressions behind the artwork. From doing this paper, and this

cheerful position. Face lines limits the above area of month and crossing the edge of the noise, apprehends more than the physiological material
world. The eyes are staring out like sensing the three dimensional living. Each one is directing to a different perspective As his head tilts, long sloppy
hair is dancing in the air and the oscillation of the curved lines are stunning. It feels like the whole body is vibrating and the ups and downs of the
laughter is painted with brush. Anti –shock rigid vest which is glossier represents the high energy period of time during twenties. Lively brushwork on
copper makes the artwork wonderfully luminous. 2.Analysis of Form:
Thinner brush is used for sketching curve lines blending together which resonance with not stable emotional state during early adulthood. The focal
point is his lips as they are painted in a warmer color. In addition to lips, the forehead and hair style are emphasized. Rembrandt deliberately has
illustrated the lower value using shades. Regarding to the shining spot on his right upper corner of forehead, the color theme is a mixture of brown to

St. Louis Art Museum Analysis
The St. Louis Art museum has one of the largest permanent exhibitions of a Max Beckmann collection in the world. He was a "German
Expressionist" and later became part of a newer style of German art which came to be known as "New Objectivity". During the last three years of his
life, he accepted a teaching position in the school of fine arts at Washington University in in 1947. Morton D. May, CEO of the May Company,
between 1945 and the mid–1950s began acquiring German Expressionist works, a movement which was not well known in the United States at the
time. May was surprised that Beckmann was working at the nearby University. During Beckmann's time in St. Louis they became friends. May, who

The reason I chose this artwork was because it wasn't so much focused on the catastrophe itself, but the people's effort for survival. On April 15,
1912, the Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean. On its maiden voyage to New York, New York it collided with an iceberg. On board were 2,200
passengers, of those 1,507 died. Beckmann was said to be inspired by news accounts to produce this work which at the time was a current event. The
date of this art work is 1912–1913, and the media is oil on canvas. When we think of the sinking of the Titanic, we think about an unsinkable ship
going down. This painting is not about that. It is about the passengers and their fight for survival and what they must have gone through. The story
in this painting is about how they tried to survive and come to terms with the possibility of death. It is painted on a huge canvas 8 foot by 11 foot in
very dark and cool colors. The size and magnitude of this helps to create a most impressive scene. Off in the distance in the right hand corner you can
the still brightly lit Titanic still upright and powered, drifting near the iceberg which sunk it. However, the ship and the iceberg are not the focus of
what the artist is trying to convey. The struggle of the survivors and the lifeboats dominate the scene. In the center of the painting is a capsized lifeboat
with some of the surviving passengers

Sequential Art Rhetorical Analysis
Rhetoric in Sequential Art When the word sequential art comes to mind, many people would automatically assume some elaborate work of art that
belongs in an art museum, but at a baseline sequential art can be your average comic book or comic strip. This isn't to say that they shouldn't be in an
art museum because the work displayed in them is phenomenal and in some ways, can surpass your stereotypical piece of art, but most people consider
them childish, a waste of time, or something that could never be taken seriously. In reality comics and other forms of sequential art do something that
many pieces of art cannot do. They can combine the beauty or simplicity behind art, with a phenomenal storyline that everyone can understand. What is

When thinking about a novel, one of the most commonly used rhetorical tools used is imagery. When a scene is important for the sake of the plot
or important to the author, the author works hard to bring the reader into the world that they see the action happening in. The same can be said of
the presentation of a certain sequence within a piece of sequential art. Whereas a square can be seen as an ordinary frame for a comic, when the art
is put into any other shape, it now stands out as important to the reader and they are more inclined to noticed more detail within the scene or
frame. The same effect applies within the Narmer Palette and its presentation on the stone tablet that it is carved on. The main parts of the story
are in giant panels, framed in a large rectangle and surrounded by the Egyptian goddess Bat, a cow goddess who was prevalent in the Old and
Middle Kingdoms of Egypt. The goddess was told to have two faces, one able to see to the past and the other to see towards the future, hence why
the face of a cow appears twice on each panel of significance. For many who were to look upon the palette it would be a sign of a blessing,
significance, and greatness. This particular style of detail can be considered a rhetorical device because of its purpose towards the main theme of the

Abstract Art Analysis
Harry Hopkins was the savior of art culture during the Great Depression, as a matter of fact, Artists wasn't originally included in the New Deal
development. President Franklyn Roosevelt was not considering them as people who worked for a living, strangely enough, he placed Hopkins in
charge of the program. He believed the artists had to generate earnings for their selves as well. The money they will spend in the economy will help
create jobs. The government treated the artist like employees giving them paintings quotas. Federal Government wasn't governing the type of painting
being made by the artist. Majority of the artists expresses a political undertone in their paintings. The United States is a melting pot of nationalities, all
nationalities were leaving their homeland to find a better quality of life. Creating a connection to other countries and allowing cultures to have a
profound influence on United States citizens. Abstract art was derived from Europe Magazine Der Strum in 1920, World War I, Germany was to first
express this kind of art, in fact, it was named German Expressionism. Ending of World War II, the United States developed their ideology ofabstract
expressionism.

To me, art does not really have a standard, and there should not be evaluations of right or wrong arts. I believe the main purpose the art serve is that it
should be visually appealing, and the audience can feel the emotion that is behind your art work. People have hundreds and thousands of different

Textual Analysis Of Art
Art exists everywhere, even in places that might not seem acceptable or logical to society today. Museums, public schools, personal homes, and even
the mountains contain pieces of art that somebody created. Some artistic masterpieces catch the eye in a flashy, conspicuous way, while others require
more concentration and thought to perceive. Millions of artists receive recognition for their works regularly. However, many more artists in this world
will receive nothing from the world around them except the enjoyment of creating the art they love so much. Thousands of places in the state of Utah
include exceptional art, but for this project, I decided to observe art in a setting more familiar to me– my hometown.

Amazingly enough, Donella Dean painted up until she reached the golden age of sixty–five. Her art classes started when she was just in fourth grade
and continued through high school and even her married life, so art was unceasingly a part of Donella. She was born in the year of 1927, in Idaho. After
a while, her family moved to Cokeville, Wyoming. Throughout those younger years of her life, Donella sketched and painted often, and occasionally
took classes that taught different techniques along the way. Donella created the painting I observed in 1981 when she was 63 years old. Whenever
one of her children got married, she created a landscape painting for the newlyweds. Quite a few of Donella's grandchildren also received original

Donella never learned how to paint with acrylic– based paint, but her art teachers always encouraged her to paint with oil–based paint, instead. All the
paintings that Donella painted for her children and grandchildren used an oil–based paint. She painted twenty–one paintings similar to this one, of

A Christian Art Analysis
As I write this post, a recent memory springs up in my mind. Earlier this year, my dad had an art show at the Steffen Thomas Museum focused on
Christian Art. One afternoon, Chris and I decided to go over there so I could look at his show. I am always amazed at my dad's art and this was no
exception. As we went from painting to painting, I could not imagine the countless hours he spent on each one of these paintings.
However, our trip did not last countless hours as I looked over 30 paintings in about twenty five minutes. This was not due to my lack of interest,
but more to my novice mindset towards art. Art is similar to most skill activities in that people that are active in said activity can better understand
and articulate the small actions that lead to a great piece of art, a great football play, or a great movie. I am embarrassed to say that I did not pay
close enough attention to the intricacies of my dad's art, but I accepted to write these articles in hopes I could learn more about my dad's favorite past
time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

first painting seems to have larger and thicker brush strokes than the second which has more white spaces separating the strokes. Both paintings are
surrounded by a black box that has an opening on the northwest corner. The opening could be an escape from whatever the black box contains. But I
do not believe that the box holds evil or Chris would have used a different color than a calming light blue. Imagine the light blue being replaced by a
dark red, the paintings would have a menacing feel to it. The shapes inside the black box make the painting continue on and on like a hole going to

physically took down his painting from the learning commons; leaving it on the ground with both canvases smashed together, risking the painting of
being destroyed. I feel that todays community struggles with censored artwork since it represents disappointing memories from the past. I feel that Mr.

Art Analysis: Sande Mask
Yanhui Liu ARTH:1040:0AAA Christopher Roy 2015/11/11 The work of art I chose is a very typical mask from Sande society. "Sowei, or
"Sande mask", is carved by a famous artist called Lansana Ngumoi, who is an itinerant carver concentrated on carving masks for the Sande
societies of the Gola, Mende and Yoruba peoples. The Sande mask plays a very important role in Sande society and Sande culture as it reflects
both representative ideal beauty of women and usage in initiation ceremony. Formal Analysis: Sowei This piece is 18 inches tall, and it is made of
wood, shells, grass and rawhide. It is worn by Gola or Vai people who live in Sierra Leone area during ceremonies when young girls are initiated
into a women's secret society called Sande." During a ceremony, the appropriate costume to match this kind of mask is a black costume from head to

is a unique feature for the Sierre Leone members of the society. Through the artists' piece of work, a society can craft fully store the values of the
women in the society in a single piece of a wooden mask. According to above, the Sande mask really plays a very important role in Sande society. I

Media And Art Analysis

  • 1. Media And Art Analysis An artist's chosen media controls their entire artwork. I feel as though the media are the most important part of a work of art because it can determine how art makes us feel, how we interpret it, and how long it takes to create. With having so many forms of media such as: architecture, paint, sculpture, drawing, and printmaking, an artist has a wide array of directions their artwork can go. Furthermore, I think that when an artist commits to a medium they have already narrowed down the type of art they are going to create and this greatly influences the amount of time their art will take to create. By having such expansive, and various options for media, I feel as though artists truly have all control over the process of designing their art. Some of the aspects of the creative process that are affected by the media are: cost, materials used, color schemes, and textures.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After noticing the medium used by the artist, I already have an expectation, or sense for the overall feeling and purpose of the artwork. I also tend to have more appreciation for an artist that uses a difficult medium or someone that uses a medium they are not accustomed and familiarized with because they had to step out of their comfort zone and also put that much more work and love into their art. By giving that much more effort to step out and do something they are not comfortable with, artists can stand out more and reach out to other viewers of art and in turn become that much more successful of artists. Media is a very important component of art because of it being the first step in creating an artwork, and it is also something I greatly value in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Arts In Education Analysis Student's Education "In Analysis: Arts In Education" Are the arts important in education? For some people the answer would be yes and for others it would be no. When I say arts I am referring to art, dance, drama, and music. Some people say that the arts are important and necessary, while others say that it is important not necessary. Individuals say that important is the same as necessary, but they aren't the same. Important is of great significance or value, likely to have a profound effect on success. Necessary is defined as required to be done, mandatory. As you can see they are quite different. While some things that are necessary can indeed be important, but important things aren't always necessary. I don't believe that the arts should be mandatory, but I do feel that it is always an option. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those students will take away from everyone else's learning and fun. While there are many statistics pointing to high scoring on tests when individuals are exposed to the arts I believe that the only reason is because the students want to be there. Arts in education are great, but lets not make it mandatory. Art is important because it helps get the creativity flowing. Your imagination grows when you draw. Pictures help you learn vocabulary words. Have you ever heard that saying that a picture is worth a million words? Well, when you are little before you can read you used the pictures from the book to make up your own story. Almost always your story was close or somehow related to the story. For ADHD kids art would be good for them because it gives their hands something to do while preoccupying their brains. Some people aren't artistic and that is why they would vote against it being ... • 3. Art Museum Analysis When walking into the freshly built art museum of West Virginia University one can automatically feel a sense of serenity. The spacing of the art pieces and the way the light hit them makes you want to take your time and examine every detail each work has to offer. It gives you no other choice but to give your full, undivided attention to one piece at a time. The way this museum was designed made it so I almost forgot about the rest of my day. Where I had to be later, what class I had, when I had to be in for work, all of those everyday thoughts and worries seemed to disappear when walking through those doors. The piece that really stood out to me was a work by Thomas Cole. Cole's piece caught my eye due to the simplicity of it. He took something as simple as a landscape and made it extremely detailed and organic. If you take the time to look closely you can almost see where he made each individual brush stroke. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though those seem to be bold, you can see the delicate detail put into each section making the piece flow beautifully. His strokes are smooth, yet uneven, giving the piece an interesting twist. The background offers a somewhat ominous sky, using what seems to be only whites and greys. The background seems to be the most muted part of the piece whereas the middle ground really grabs your attention with its vibrant colors. Cole uses yellow and muted brown to pop against the hues of green in the trees. These pops of color among the tree scape really make this the focal point of the piece. The foreground offers a very earthy feel with a simplistic pasture. Broken colors of green and brown are used to display the ongoing naturalistic feel this work displays. Towards the right of the piece you can see some sort of animal. Cole being a famous American landscape artist would make it only obvious to have animals in some of his ... • 4. Art Class Analysis In this class art has taught me many things that I didn't know before or that they were associated with art particularly. This has gave me the opportunity to appreciate art and what it gives us the chances to do with it. Art also has changed my views on many things. To be specific, according to what I have learned in this class, it has changed my view on the role art has in reflecting social, economic, and humanistic issues. Also, I have learned many new artists that had works that were particularly meaningful in expanding my view of the world. All in all, art has many things to it to learn and appreciate from and to give you the chance to learn something that is creative and beautiful that you didn't know about before. I have learned many... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the Tempietto which is the Church of S. Pietro in Montorio by Donato Bramante is one. The building is based on ancient round monuments, some of which commemorated dead Roman emperors. Without this, I would not have known about this amazing church in Rome. It's expanding my view by giving me the opportunity to discover buildings that I haven't known about and maybe would never get to see in person. Another example is, the Hagia Sophia which is in Istanbul, Turkey. It is one of the most magnificent domes in the world was designed for the Byzantine cathedral of Hagia Sophia "Holy Wisdom" in Istanbul. It was built in the sixteenth century as the central sanctuary of the Eastern Orthodox Christian Church. After the Islamic conquest of 1453, minarets were added and it was used as a mosque. This was one of the most amazing mosques I have ever seen. To know that one day maybe I could go over there and pray is just absolutely amazing. The interior of the mosque is very beautiful and spiritual. It has arabic writings on the domes which have the name of God "Allah" and his prophet Muhammed(pbuh). This has changed my view on the art word because to know that your roots could have built this with the remembrance of God and for you to pray in is just simply amazing and emotional. And that I know for a fact that I would wanna go there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Museum Of Art Analysis My little legs shuffled along as tried to catch up to my mother, taking the marble staircase two steps at a time. "Why is she so excited," I thought to myself. She slowed down as we entered a tall room, colors and frames and canvases lined along the walls. I followed behind with an unimpressed glare across my face and mumbles upon my lips: "Why do we always have to come to the art museum." I had seen more art than any other twelve–year–old I knew. In fact, at the time I was fairly certain that I had seen more art than anyone I knew. She shushed me as we stepped into a small, dark room tucked away in the corner of the museum. She pointed to a painting not much bigger than my head, and I walked into the surrounding pool of light. The plaque underneath the painting read "Woman Holding a Balance–Johannes Vermeer" I stood still for probably the longest I ever had, so perplexed by what hung in front of me. My mind tried to comprehend how the artist could use shape and color to make such an ordinary woman appear so complex. I wished to have that same ability to transform lives and ideas, and for one solitary moment I understood why my mom had dragged me here all these years. As a teenager, I begged my mother to take me to art museums, I listened to her talk about every painting she knew, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Giambologn Art Analysis Our first piece of art, on the left, is titled Rape of a Sabine by Giambologna in 1583. This is a three–dimensional sculpture that has many curves and points of view. You can circle around this sculpture and find aspects of it you couldn't visualize at one point. The faces of the sculptured men and woman have a look of despair, sorrow, and misery that create for a very dramatic piece. Rape of the Sabine tells a story of roman men seizing Sabine women to marry them in order for the city of Rome to grow and become more powerful than it was. • 7. Art Analysis: Less Than Art Less Than: Art and reductionism and Denise Green: Beyond and Between – A painter's journey. A comparative Essay written by Thomas Brooks, Benjamin Dutton, Jasmine Smith and Megan Thomason. Collection displays inhibit the ideologies of a singular conceptual premise under the constraints of the viability and range within the institutions collection, whereas the tasks involved in composing a monographic show, including the original parameters of an institutionН›s collection, result in further curatorial concerns (George 2015, 39). How does the curatorial rationale and exhibition design influence the artworks displayed within a collection based exhibition? This essay will critically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The audience is inclined to take in GreenН›s practice at large rather than gaining a deeper insight into each pieceН›s individual context (George, 2015, p. 39). Both curators convey their intentions through the connections linking artist, content and context. This revised insight into the artistsН› practice is transformed due to the associations drawn by the curator and presented to the viewer through the exhibition rationale. The correlation between both showcasesН› intended premise combined with the curatorsН›selected pieces, assist the viewer in engaging with the artworks in a reinterpreted manner from their original context. Due to the extensive assortment of practices incorporated in Less Than: Art and Reductionism, the artistsН› intended meaning is adapted to fulfil the premise of the exhibition. This is evident in Daniel McKewenН›s Kafka On the Shore (2014) which explores capitalism through the use of a financial algorithm depicted in the form of three over–sized gypsum and acrylic polymer letter–forms mounted to the wall (QUT 2016). • 8. Art Class Analysis What is Art? In my previous post about what I thought art was, included multiple different ideas of creative expression. My original post was very limited on basic knowledge of art, and I was not including in depth explanations of art. I mentioned that art could be found in paintings, drawings, sculptures, literature, music, etc. I never thought to state how many different types of paintings there are, or even the multitude of different types of literature and music. This class taught me the art is not just something that pleases the eye, imagination, or ear. Art has meaning. I learned a lot my first couple of weeks of this class, and a lot of that came from the lecture, as well as the artists of the week videos. My favorite artist of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only thing that changed for me is that I am now able to appreciate art pieces that I might not have understood before this class. I learned a lot about myself in this class, and I also found out that I have newfound love for paintings and sculptures. This week I went to the Riverside Art Museum as part of the Capstone Project, and I realized I was telling my mom about some of the visual elements in a painting, or how a person would view a painting in Panofsky's three levels of meaning. I used to only appreciate music and literature, because it was something that was easy for me to understand and something I always loved to explore. Now I find myself looking at drawings or paintings from several different people, and appreciating it more than I ever have. This course is focused on paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photography, and that allowed me to move out of my artistic comfort zone and explore new things. The only that changed from my original What is Art reflection is that I can now interpret art, and I am able to relate to pieces of art that reflect being happy or sad, because I am able to understand where the artist is coming from. • 9. Creating Art Analysis The feel of the brush and the smoothness of the stroke when paint meets the canvas. This feeling is what I strive for. Art to me is an escape and simply to put it in terms is my way of life. It's not just my hobby, interest, or talent it is so much more to me. When I decide to create something it comes from an inspiration that overcomes me. I have many ranges of art that I do such as, painting in oil, acrylic, or watercolor. Several of my pieces of art is from graphite pencil. Most of my topics are of people or well at least the faces of the people. I mainly draw what I like to but sometimes I will take request from people and draw them what they want. The reason that I tend to draw faces more than anything else is because I like to express my feelings through the facial expressions of the ones I draw. Creating art gives me a fulfillment, one that makes me feel like I've done something good. I don't just do it because it makes me feel good but because I enjoy it. Making something that shows my emotions and then other people start to feel what I feel without words. The way that this can be really seen is when the facial expressions change to what... It has created me a future a happy future of doing what I want and not stuck wishing I did something that I enjoy greatly. Through art I've learned what appeals to the eye of the average human. Johnson Gallery of Art. Throughout this exhibit the viewer might "look" and "glance" not really paying to much mind to the pieces that surrounded them. Curator Christopher Willey said that we should use the word "experience" instead of "look" when referring to art pieces. Because, we are doing far more with our bodies than simply looking. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ok maybe not that far apart, but that's the feeling the viewer gets when looking at their pieces. There's also different experiences from each that are widely different. For Cochran the viewer needs to think deeper and further than they're used too. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, it's just that it's somewhat unnerving. Why? You say could because the viewer is truly getting an understanding of the pieces. In that feelings are being brought out because of a piece, feelings that the viewer had no idea art could bring out. Now if we were to relate this to Durkin's' pieces they are "worlds apart". Overwhelming joy, is simply all the viewer can feel from her pieces. The viewer is caught off guard and can only smile no matter how much it hurts. The next thing, I thought this painting was trying to infer was about how hectic life can be, and how we all want to be in the calm (outside of the pin). To me the artist is trying to get out of the hardships of life. Showing that while some people are able to get out of these hardships, others do not. But, I have no idea what the artist actually meant, this is because, the painting had no description under it and I could not find out about it on the internet, so I have no idea what the artist meaning of this painting is. I came up with the idea for the store from my love of art and my idea of becoming a psychologist. The business now has developed into a different idea from my first vision of it. The first idea was an art studio, to sell works of art. Then art therapy– you could guess how quickly that was shot down. At last, I came up with the final design of a teaching location mixed with a supply shop. I, for one, think it was my best idea out of the three. It has the ability to activate the viewer's mechanisms of perception and ultimately awareness of a place. This occurs through the stimulation of the senses by interaction or awakening one's perception through disorientation. Installation art directly presents the elements texture, space, light and so on for us to experience. Kusama is a conceptual artist and self–proclaimed 'obsessive', whose daring works has been dealing with notions of repetition. Her stunning and wildly abstract composition of dots, the 'Obliteration Room' is entirely covered with endless coloured dots, which is a representation of the artist's psyche, wherein hallucinations have haunted her since childhood. She utilized "ready–made" materials, stickers to create her immersive installation. Kusama's ongoing obsession with repetition creates an infinity perception of the space, which creates an illusory atmosphere that confuses the viewer's perception and spatial orientation. The unique sensory and psychological experience enables each viewer to momentarily get "lost" in Kusama's mesmerizing world. The choice of a domestic environment with specifically local characteristics is intended to create an air of familiarity that makes participants, especially children, comfortable to engage with the installation with little or no prompting. Kusama really fits into art history, and she was there in late Surrealism and the birth of Pop Art. They both have similar style of carving, composition and go together well. So one can suspect that they may have been pulled out of a group even without prior knowledge of the people the figures represented. There are subtle details in both art pieces that helps to convey the emotions without being too dramatic to the viewer. For example, the position of the art work's hand or the slight leaning of the head. These may seem to be too inconspicuous to convey a message, but when one sees all these elements come together in the piece, it all makes sense. The main focus of these art pieces are the emotions they convey and not necessary the craftsmanship of the artist. The artist is able to capture the viewer's attention by making the art pieces convey their messages through their eyes and body composition. What is its in situ? o The purpose of the piece is for the viewer to see the landscape as Monet saw it in the mornings of 1987. The painting's in situ, I believe, is in on a wall or somewhere where a viewer could enjoy it. I don't know if there is a specific place like Titan's Pesaro Madonna is in a church at a specific location so that Jesus is centered when you first see it. I see this this piece as more for it to be seen in general and not in one specific place or angle. Why did an artist make this work? o Monet created this because he saw something he wanted to share with the world. He believed that there was something special about the mornings while on the Siene that people wouldn't normally see or see at all. His goal was for people to understand his view of the beauty in these scenes through his paintings. Edward Hopper and Takashi Nakamura draw their paintings to express different feelings. In Edward Hopper's painting "Morning Sun" (1952), he displays the image of a woman looking outside alone in order to symbolize the woman's feelings about "depression," but also how she still has "hope" for her own life. Also, in Edward Hopper's image, he uses darker and brighter colors to symbolize the "depression" and "hope" in this image. Overall, brown and dark brown can be seen throughout the wall, and there is no warm color in her room, such as red or green color. The dark colors give the observer a sad and troubled impression, so the darkness symbolizes the woman's depressed feeling. In addition, when Hopper colored her bed a bluish color, it gives me a cold impression, and she is sleeping on the cold bed during the night. However, Hopper used a lighter color on the place the sunlight spot. She bathes in the sunlight as well, so half of her body is brighter. TheaterCNU is meant to be expressive of these values in ways that are particular to this art form, and that should be seen in any symbol of the department. Communicating through art, I was able to let people see the way that I see the world. To me, art does not really have a standard, and there should not be evaluations of right or wrong arts. I believe the main purpose the art serve is that it should be visually appealing, and the audience can feel the emotion that is behind your art work. People have hundreds and thousands of different emotions, but we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Textual Analysis Of Art Art exists everywhere, even in places that might not seem acceptable or logical to society today. Museums, public schools, personal homes, and even the mountains contain pieces of art that somebody created. Some artistic masterpieces catch the eye in a flashy, conspicuous way, while others require more concentration and thought to perceive. Millions of artists receive recognition for their works regularly. However, many more artists in this world will receive nothing from the world around them except the enjoyment of creating the art they love so much. Thousands of places in the state of Utah include exceptional art, but for this project, I decided to observe art in a setting more familiar to me– my hometown. An elderly lady in my ward ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Amazingly enough, Donella Dean painted up until she reached the golden age of sixty–five. Her art classes started when she was just in fourth grade and continued through high school and even her married life, so art was unceasingly a part of Donella. She was born in the year of 1927, in Idaho. After a while, her family moved to Cokeville, Wyoming. Throughout those younger years of her life, Donella sketched and painted often, and occasionally took classes that taught different techniques along the way. Donella created the painting I observed in 1981 when she was 63 years old. Whenever one of her children got married, she created a landscape painting for the newlyweds. Quite a few of Donella's grandchildren also received original paintings from her. Donella never learned how to paint with acrylic– based paint, but her art teachers always encouraged her to paint with oil–based paint, instead. All the paintings that Donella painted for her children and grandchildren used an oil–based paint. She painted twenty–one paintings similar to this one, of different landscapes, before she painted the one I examined. Donella said she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Isolation In Art Analysis Like all art, there are endless ways for this piece to be interpreted evoking countless emotions depending on the experiences of the person. The goal of an artist, is to inspire thought and conversation, which this piece does beautifully. The best thing about snow, is how it can completely change the atmosphere of a scene. When I look at the piece, I can feel the cold and hear the deafening silence that comes with a winter storm. I love that snow can lead to some many sensations, from feeling cozy and safe by the fire, to a cold dreadful feeling of complete isolation. When there is nothing but the sounds of branches snapping under the heft of something that seems so weightless and the crunch as you walk along something that appears so soft, ... • 37. A Christian Art Analysis As I write this post, a recent memory springs up in my mind. Earlier this year, my dad had an art show at the Steffen Thomas Museum focused on Christian Art. One afternoon, Chris and I decided to go over there so I could look at his show. I am always amazed at my dad's art and this was no exception. As we went from painting to painting, I could not imagine the countless hours he spent on each one of these paintings. However, our trip did not last countless hours as I looked over 30 paintings in about twenty five minutes. This was not due to my lack of interest, but more to my novice mindset towards art. Art is similar to most skill activities in that people that are active in said activity can better understand and articulate the small actions that lead to a great piece of art, a great football play, or a great movie. I am embarrassed to say that I did not pay close enough attention to the intricacies of my dad's art, but I accepted to write these articles in hopes I could learn more about my dad's favorite past time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I first saw these two paintings side by side on Chris's website I could not distinguish if one was just the finished product of the other. The first painting seems to have larger and thicker brush strokes than the second which has more white spaces separating the strokes. Both paintings are surrounded by a black box that has an opening on the northwest corner. The opening could be an escape from whatever the black box contains. But I do not believe that the box holds evil or Chris would have used a different color than a calming light blue. Imagine the light blue being replaced by a dark red, the paintings would have a menacing feel to it. The shapes inside the black box make the painting continue on and on like a hole going to ... • 38. Censored Art Analysis When I think about censored artwork, I think of artworks that show visuals such as violence and nudity. This semester, Levi's showed his opinion of hitler by making fun of him. This artwork shows the humiliation and evilness of Adolf Hitler. During this semester, our principal, Mr. Barzetti physically took down his painting from the learning commons; leaving it on the ground with both canvases smashed together, risking the painting of being destroyed. I feel that todays community struggles with censored artwork since it represents disappointing memories from the past. I feel that Mr. Barzetti had no right to remove a painting of hitler from the learning commons since it was making fun of Adolf Hitler. I feel that if it was a painting ... • 39. Art Analysis: Sande Mask Yanhui Liu ARTH:1040:0AAA Christopher Roy 2015/11/11 The work of art I chose is a very typical mask from Sande society. "Sowei, or "Sande mask", is carved by a famous artist called Lansana Ngumoi, who is an itinerant carver concentrated on carving masks for the Sande societies of the Gola, Mende and Yoruba peoples. The Sande mask plays a very important role in Sande society and Sande culture as it reflects both representative ideal beauty of women and usage in initiation ceremony. Formal Analysis: Sowei This piece is 18 inches tall, and it is made of wood, shells, grass and rawhide. It is worn by Gola or Vai people who live in Sierra Leone area during ceremonies when young girls are initiated into a women's secret society called Sande." During a ceremony, the appropriate costume to match this kind of mask is a black costume from head to foot. Compared to other masks found in Africa, this type of mask is quite unique because it is the only type of African mask reserved exclusively for women. This mask is deep... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It also represents the society's perception of wealth and social status of women. It is interesting to learn that even though it is carved out by the men in the society, it is the women who get to wear it. In African culture where women are often sidelined especially in important ceremonies, this is a unique feature for the Sierre Leone members of the society. Through the artists' piece of work, a society can craft fully store the values of the women in the society in a single piece of a wooden mask. According to above, the Sande mask really plays a very important role in Sande society. I think to do a research on the Sande mask is very significant for studying in their culture, including knowing more about the specific function of the mask, how to use the sande mask, and representative of ideal of ...
