5. WHAT IS AIDS ?
A later stage of HIV infection where someone develops potentially
fatal infections and cancers.
This is followed by a peroid without symtoms.
6. As the illness progresses, it
interface more and more with
the immune system, making the
person much more likely to get
infections and tumors.
The late symtoms of the
infections are refered to as Aids.

Retroviruses transcribe RNA to DNA.

8. Transmission
HIV is transmited by three main roots .
1) Sexual contact.
2) From mother to child during
pregnancy, . delivery or breast feeding.
3) Exposure to infected body fluids or
.t tissues.

a) Needle- sharing during intravenous .. drugs

It is done using;

2) ELISA- Enzyme Linked Immunosorbant
Assay
11. Prevention
1) Use of condoms, or any other
barrier during sexual contact.
2) Administration of anti-retroviral
drugs to mother
during pregnancy or delivery.
12. Management
There is no cure for Aids.
Treatment consists of high
active anti-retroviral therapy
(HAART) which slows
progression of the diseases.
