It is a pleasure for me to recommend Dennis McGeehan to you. I have known Dennis for the past five
years and have worked very closely with him at Strayer University in my current role as Director of
College Relations. Having served in higher education for over thirty years in various capacities from
associate dean of management and technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to Vice President of
the Union Graduate College I feel well qualified to make this recommendation to you.
Dennis worked very closely with me in developing, building and maintaining the critical relationships
that Strayer University enjoys with two-year colleges in the New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania
area. Through his network of higher education professionals, including a number of college presidents,
he was instrumental in my being able to negotiate alliances with a number of colleges which together
with our other two-year college partners account for about 25% of Strayer University’s total enrollment.
Dennis is an energetic worker, always eager to “pitch in” and go above and beyond to make certain a
project is successful. He thinks outside the box and does not hesitate to try new and exciting ideas.
Certainly Dennis is an expert when it comes to curriculum matters.
Faculty, students and staff are all very appreciative of the assistance that Dennis has given them over
the years. He is especially well liked by his students for whom he has many times gone out of his way to
resolve any issue they might have. His no nonsense, forthright, direct professionalism and work ethic
coupled with his tremendous sense of humor make him a pleasure to work with. His ability to not
hesitate to speak his mind but at the same time attentively listen to others opinions is an admirable
attribute missing from many in higher education leadership today.
I would strongly recommend Dennis for any position he feels qualified to seek especially at the dean’s
level or above. He will be an asset for any institution he decides to join. Please do not hesitate to contact
