2. The Main Characters
In this book, the main characters are:
• The Big Friendly Giant (The BFG):
A giant who eats only vegetables.
His English is bad. He has huge ears.
He doesn’t eat humans.
• Sophie: An orphanage girl.
She is smart.

3. The Main Characters
• The nine other giants: They eat humans!.. They are fool.
• The Queen of England: She is the Queen of England.

4. The Summary
The Big Friendly Giant (BFG) kidnaps Sophie. The BFG
explains Sophie, how human beans (that is human beings)
taste like and then tells her why she stole her. Sophie gets
hungry and the BFG tells Sophie about the snozzcumbers
(a veggie with a disgusting taste).
Sophie gets thirsty and asks for water. The BFG
gives her a frobscottle (a great sparkling drink) and
they have fun with it. They go to Dream Land and
catch phizzwizards (totally great dreams, opposite
of nightmares).

5. The Summary
The BFG blows nightmares to the other giants because they make fun of
him. The BFG and Sophie have fun watching their reactions to their
nightmares. The next day, the other giants go to eat humans. Sophie
wants to save the humans and makes a plan with the BFG.

6. The Summary
So for the plan, the BFG makes a
nightmare to the Queen of England.
In this nightmare, there are giants
eating humans and a friendlier giant
(BFG) and a girl. When she wakes up,
she sees the girl and the BFG! They talk
about this problem and they make a
plan. Then the Queen of England sends
army to the Giant Land. The soldiers tie
the giants up and then with the help of
helicopters they put them into a pit.
They feed them with snozzcumbers.
The BFG now lives with humans and
has a house to live in.

7. The Setting
• This story takes place in three places: The First is The Giant Land, the second is
The Dream Land and the third is England.
• The characters are: Sophie, The BFG, the other giants and the Queen of England.
Sophie is a flat character, all the remaining characters are round.
• The climax is: When the Queen and The BFG talk about the problem and find a
solution.
• The resolution is: The giants are now in a pit and they are being fed with
snozzcumbers; not with humans.
• The theme is: Even if bullies are stronger, we shall call our grown ups about
them so the problem can be solved.
