• Develop yourself ‘creatively’
• Understand that everyone is creative
• Creativity has a healing dimension
• Understand yourself more fully through
creative activity
• Use reflective thinking to identify what
you are learning and gain insight into
your life experiences

3. • Develop empathy and understanding through
imaginative writing and group work interaction
• Develop listening and dialogue skills

• Develop recording and reflective skills
• Develop creative thinking skills; divergent and
convergent thinking skills
• Develop facilitation skills

4. • Use the group setting to build
relationships and develop friendships.
• Understand creative development in
children and be able to identify relevant
stages
• Understand the term ‘creativity’ from a
theoretical perspective

• Exercise tolerance and respect: self,
others and environment
• Take appropriate responsibility: others,
yourself and environment
• Confidentiality: ‘What is said/seen in the
room stays in room’
• Non-judgmental attitude; in thought and

6. • All levels of artistic skill is accepted. No
person is better than another.
• Sharing your experiences will help

• Listen carefully to what each person is
saying verbally and non-verbally; check
with yourself for judgments,
assumptions, etc.
• Become aware of your own verbal and
non-verbal language

group
• Use of art materials: lids on markers and
paints, washed brushes, etc
• Commitment to attend
• Punctual and stay for duration
• Wear suitable clothes for painting and floor
work
• No conversations on mobile phone
