2. The location is not relevant to the documentary as it is
captured within a school yet the documentary was about
mobile phones. Therefore, this isn’t heavily linked to the
theme however, it illustrates everyday use of mobile phones
within education. To ensure that the location has relevance
to the documentary, I will ensure I will film somewhere
relevant and links to the documentary within the future.
Location
3. Yes, the code of attire shows who the individual is which
could reflect the type of person they are. Moreover, the
code of attire could reinforce the relevance towards the
documentary. For Example: if the interviewer was
interviewing a teacher, then they should be wearing
smart, formal clothing.

4. Yes, the cutaways have significant relevance to the
documentary as when each cutaway was filmed there was
features of archive footage and mobile phones. This allows
the audience to be aware that there is going to be a transition
onto the next scene.

5. From the audience feedback, we
have found out that 2 people said
they would rate it a 2, 4 people
said they would rate it a 3 and 4
people said they would rate it a 4.
This could portray that some
aspects of the documentary was
excellent and others were not
very good. This means I will need
to ensure that the next
documentary I film, cuts out any
errors and is of a good standard.
6. The majority of the feedback that was given said that the documentary
would be better if there was one narrator narrating the whole
documentary. As there was various different narrators narrating the
documentary, this could make the documentary unclear which the
audience may not understand. To ensure this doesn’t happen again, I will
use one narrator throughout which will keep the documentary
consistent. This will allow my audience to stay engaged and not switch
off or channel surf.

narrators at these
two scenes.
7. From the feedback that was given, 2 people said that there was a
good range where as 8 people said there wasn’t enough range of
people. This means I need to ensure there is a good range of
people interviewed for my next documentary. However, the
positive side to this was there was a good range of adults and
young people which means the interview is not just from one
generations perspective.

8. From the feedback that was given, 6 people said they would carry
on watching the documentary as they found it interesting and
engaging however, 4 people said they wouldn’t carry on watching
the documentary as the theme music wasn’t very relevant to the
documentary and the graphics were in a different colour as well as
the name and occupation in the wrong positioning. This allows me
to ensure that I do not make these mistakes again in the future.

9. Out of the four micro elements; Mis-En-
Scence, Camerawork, Editing and Sound, the
editing aspect was considered to be the best
as 8 people voted for this. The editing was
smooth and seamless throughout. The
cutaways were used in the correct places
and there was no sign of any jumping. This
will need to be maintained in the duration of
the next documentary that is filmed.
However, the camerawork was voted as
being poor, as there was a lot of shakiness
when the documentary was filmed. This
could be hard for the audience to
understand the context behind the
documentary as certain parts may be too
shaky or even blurry to view. This will need
to be changed in the future.
Editing Transitions
10. From the feedback, 9 people said the editing was good,
it wasn’t jumpy or distracting however, 1 person said
that the editing was jumpy between Scott’s interview
and the cutaway of the phone. To ensure this doesn’t
happen again I will make sure the editing is smooth and
seamless throughout the whole documentary.
11. Yes, the majority of the feedback that was given said the
introductory was very good as it was unique and uses
graphics music and archive material. This is something
that went very well in the making of the documentary
and I will ensure this continues within future
documentaries.
