Pledge
Welcome new members, visitors and returning members.
Minutes – accepted as distributed.
Toy Run was better than anticipated. Lots of participation in the different events – good effort on everyones part.
Raised about $100 less than last year. 226 blue tickets – the donate tickets gave approximately 601 toys with a total
of 289 bikes participating. Suzie – great job announcing prizes. Harold the new 50/50 was a great success. Thanks
Laura for organizing tickets and sales. We use/paid for 469 plates and basically covered food cost with money taken
at toy run. Frank asked that we give the ladies a hand for all their work.
Toy buying a week from Saturday but Salvation Army has it for the 3 rd. Voted to do it the 10th – be here at 9:30 and
Wal-Mart at 10 to shop.
Donna – Toy Run Acct $8,717.74 after everything is paid out. Pay out for food was to cover the tip. Wal-Mart is
giving us 10% this year rather than $200. Put back for insurance this year? Harold made a motion to hold $2000 out
for possible expenses. That would leave about $7,200 to spend. Seconded – voted – passed. Sold over 2,475 tickets.
Chapter balance $5,485.34 part of which is Rider Challenge. Pins $75 profit $575 door prizes $276 50/50, $1,470 to
HOG account. Currently no pending bills.
2 new members – Suzie Shippen and Josh Padget - Suzie rides a Fat Boy!!!!
Shelton – gave rockers to 2 new members – sending the membership information out. A little under a 100 – need
some more members and some younger ones would be great. As of today 90 members including 2 new members.
Bob – we really do have a Fat Boy! New law goes in effect today for cyclist. This is the right of way law. All Drivers Ed
classes must have 1 hr of motorcycle classes.
Activities – Harold – Nothing going right now for the week-end – let him know if you want to do something. Trying to
put something together for New Years – most restaurants around here do not know what a brunch is. Downtown
Raleigh has a nice place starting at 10:30 with shrimp and grits etc. Show of hands of people interested -several were
interested. Been in touch with other dealerships and setting up rides for next year to attend some of their meetings
and create a friendship?
Rolling Thunder – block of rooms reserved there $128 – $109 and doubles $119 - 20 room are reserved under Rocky
Mount Harley Owners Group. Need to set up now if going up on Friday. Want to go to the Irish Pub one night. May
25, 26 and 27 if leaving on Friday – we would return on Monday. Harold – George leading Rolling Thunder ride - but
they are planning another ride to Niagara Falls that same week-end with more info to follow.
2. Sturgis 2012 - Around $600-700 to ship bikes out per bike around $2,000 per person for everything. Stay in
Deadwood.
Rider Challenge – will be giving out the prizes 27 participants 14 turned in mileage. Dealership is matching and will be
given out at party.
Reserved money in case we needed to help pay for bike Hiway 33 Oyster Bar would host us on a Sunday and he would
supply a DJ for free for us. Club pay for dinner at $20 a head for members – non members would have to be paid.
Ideas from floor. December 18 is the only day open. Why not do something after the holidays. Vote for Christmas –
or after New Year – February – week-end before or after Valentine’s Day – motion made for Feb 11 - second – passed
– need someone to plan the party. Define party – big party or doing a eat out. Hand out Rider Challenge at party. Big
party – DJ and rent a hall BYOB – We have a party!!!!! Ladies that volunteered (committee) will make the decisions.
Donna, Laura, Suzie and Debbie volunteered to plan and execute the HOG Party.
Officer elections – John and Jimmy talked – proud of chapter – would like to move forward, with the chapters
consent, to ask the current officers to do it again and run for 2 consecutive years. By the time you get the experience
of one year you would be able to lead the next year with the knowledge gathered during the first year. Discussion
ensued with members asking questions that this is the way it will be from this point forward. Motion to have officers
serve for 2 consecutive years, second, voted and passed. Elections will run every 2 years.
Batchelors is having their Toy Run Saturday at 2Pm – riding to a church and supporting the orphanage in Middlesex.
50/50 - $ 65 - Glenn won – put in HOG Toy Run account.
