  1. 1. Since last July….
  2. 2. We coordinated 756 volunteersfor RAGBRAI.
  3. 3. We collected over 1,300 pounds offresh produce at a Farmers’ Market.HACAP continued the project andcollected another 1,300 pounds.
  4. 4. We also talked with over 500 peopleabout our Women’s LeadershipInitiative at a Farmers’ Market.
  5. 5. We added 8 LoanedExecutives to our team.
  6. 6. We were voted Best Charity byCBJ readers!
  7. 7. We kicked off our campaign at theNational Czech & Slovak Museum & Library.We were the first group to do an event inthe Grand Hall.
  8. 8. We brought together organizations tocreate a video that showed the roadwe have traveled.
  9. 9. Marc, Cathy and Ron helpedtell our story.
  10. 10. Together we can completethe puzzle.
  11. 11. The Blue Man helped Raining Rosewith its Pacesetter Campaign.
  12. 12. Pacesetter Raining Roseraised $33,145.
  13. 13. Pacesetter Skogman Companiesraised $50,018.

  16. 16. Our Sinclair event was held at theBairds’ house.
  17. 17. Jill Hockaday, along-time UnitedWaysupporter, sharedwith Sinclairmembers howshe receivedservices atFoundation 2.
  18. 18. The Young Leaders hosted an eventand heard from long time donors onwhy giving is important.
  19. 19. Sondra Shaw-Hardy spoke at the Women’sLeadership Initiative Luncheon aboutwomen and philanthropy.
  20. 20. We met with young professionals atthe Next Gen Summit.
  21. 21. Art Staed, Representative in the IowaHouse, stopped by for a tour of our2-1-1 facilities!
  22. 22. We held our first Condition of theCommunity Event – BuildingTomorrow’s Workforce.
  23. 23. We learned that it takes a wage of$18.08/hour for a single parent ofone to meet basic needs.
  24. 24. We awarded 3 campaign prizes!Marci Wooff, who works at CRST and has givento United Way for 27 years, won the Octoberprize – a refrigerator donated by Whirlpool.
  25. 25. Jake Zoss, from Cargill, won theSeptember prize – a Beautyrest BlackMattress Set donated by Smulekoff’s.
  26. 26. Mary Cummings, Grant WoodAEA, won $2,500 worth of gas giftcards from Hawkeye ConvenienceStores.
  27. 27. After its September 2011implementation, KPACE has helped 67students receive training.
  28. 28. Jeri, a KPACE student, told her storyabout earning her GED and howthat opened the door toadditional training.
  29. 29. We participated in the firstGiving Tuesday.
  30. 30. RED Ahead was able to reach803 children in 2012.

  34. 34. Kelly Mulford, a Quaker Shipping 20Powerball winner, announced at anews conference that he was donating$75,000 to United Way.
  35. 35. We honored 22 local middle andhigh school students at ourAnnual Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon.
  36. 36. United Way 2-1-1 spent 1,038 hoursscheduling tax appointments, a servicevalued at more than $25,789.
  37. 37. Over 122,000 donors gavemore than $10 million.
  38. 38. Amanda Young spoke about her child’sexperience at Play & Learn.
  39. 39. Wayne is able to stay in his homebecause of help he receives fromAging Services.
