2.
From this question I can
see that my audience is
mainly interested in
listening to
new/upcoming artists.
This was crucial for me
to find out because I
needed to know how
much content in my
magazine should be
about current big name
hip-hop artists or
whether it should be
more about promoting
the future of the genre.
3.
I was torn between
making a Hip-Hop
magazine or an Indie
Magazine, and these
results have made it
easier for me to come to
the conclusion that Hiphop magazines would be
more popular.
There are various Indie
Music magazines out
there already however I
believe there is a real
shortage in Hip-Hop
magazines and I genuinely
believe my magazine can
fill this void.
4.
This was the result I was
expecting the most however I
was not expecting it to be this
one sided.
It is obvious that Twitter is the
more personal social networking
site rather than Facebook and
Tumblr as there is a way of
connecting with your idols and
keep up to date with their day to
day life.
This question made it clear to
me that we need to try and
incorporate twitter as much in
our magazine as possible,
whether that’s competitions or
just trending tweets.
5.
I thought this question
would have a mixed
response as I was correct.
Initially I wanted to release
a magazine every two
weeks as it gave us enough
time to release a quality
magazine instead of
rushing to get one every
week as the content
wouldn’t be as in depth.
However, I do believe every
month is a bit too long even
though content would be of
a higher standard.
6.
With the majority of music
today being downloaded it
will be good to include this
in our magazine.
This can be achieved with
links to exclusive tracks or
deluxe editions for albums.
We can also promote
downloading music by
giving away discounts if you
use certain codes which will
be given away in each
edition of our magazine.
7.
A lot of music is heard
about through word of
mouth. A person tells
their friend, who tells their
friend, who tells their
friend and this cycle
continues until the artist
has now became
mainstream.
The internet is a big
influence of finding
upcoming artists with
various covers and
original songs being
uploaded to sites like
YouTube and Facebook,
which then is followed by
a small fan base which
then turns into fame.
8.
I am glad with this
response from the
audience. I do feel
magazines will
eventually all be
Online based as
they will be less
money to produce
and more
interactive, however
for at least 5 Years I
think magazines
will remain print as
it’s a sense of
collection and
ownership.
9.
This is the first question on
my questionnaire where it
completely up to the reader
to choose their favourite
acts of particular genre.
This question was made
just to see if we had any
common artists appear and
we did with likes of “Drake”
and “Chris Brown”.
10.
This question is
about the costs of
the magazine.
Before I made this
survey I was
looking at retailing
the magazine at £
3.99 per issue.
With the results
having come in I
still believe that
this is an
appropriate cost for
a fortnightly
magazine.
11.
Similar to Question 8,
this question has no
forced answers and was
wondering what people
would like to see form
our interviews with
Artists.
Following these reults we
will ask them questions
about inspirations, why
they do what they do,
unusual/funny questions,
and their new upcoming
records and tracks.
