Nombre: Daniela Ortiz
Bullying is an international phenomenon that normally occurs in private or
public schools. Bullying is verbal, physical, social or psychological aggressive
actions in which an individual is affected. Bullying is “among school aged
children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance” ( U.S. Department
of Health & Human Services, s.f.). There are many types of bullying such as
verbal/written abuse, violence, sexual harassment, homophobia, discrimination
and cyberbullying, now days the most common one is cyberbullying where
people display offensive thing through media. Even though there are aggressive
behaviors that doesn’t count as bullying, but they are pretty serious as well.
In Ecuador according to a national
survey “of childhood and
adolescence (ENNA), 64% of school
children, aged 8 to 17, said to have
witnessed fights between pupils;
57% said that they would destroy
things from each other; and 69%,
who annoy or abuse of children”
(Bayona, 2014). Every seven of 8
children once in a while have
experienced bullying. Unicef had transmited a massage of avoiding abuse
through their campaigne “Ahora que lo ves” that takes pleace in puclic schools
and private schools in Ecuador. In Ecuador the average of bullying is really
high, every 5 children have
experienced a type of violence in its 1st
12 years, for different causes such as
parents, teacher or classmates.
Even though organization try to stop
bullying it all start with a change of
people and what adults show their
children, taking care how they act in
front of them because they learn everything.
