Bullying in Ecuador
“Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real
or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated,
over time.” (Services, 16) The word bullying has become pretty common all around the
globe. As the definition above says bullying is an aggressive and unwanted behavior that is
constantly repeating. Bullying can affect someone in very different ways, you can harm
someone not only physically with punches, and you can really harm someone
psychologically. This psychological harm can turn into seriously diseases like anorexia,
bulimia, schizophrenia, and after some time this can harm the person physically and can
produce serious diseases like diabetes and heart attack.
Ecuador is a country that isnt save from bullying eigther. “El Comercio” an ecuadorian news
paper assures that seven of every ten kids have ever been bullied, and 3 of every 5 kids have
ever lived violent situations in their first twelve years. Orgnizations have been created in
order to help this kids that are bullied, even international organizations have joines this couse
like UNICEF. The causes of bullying are not only the aparience, it can also be the social
status and racism. The social status play a very important role in the bullying in Ecuador.
