This document discusses the need for quality professionals in India to support organizational excellence and the "Make in India" campaign. It notes a shortage of over 7 million skilled employees and outlines Quality System Basics' (QSB) approach to addressing this need through qualification courses, public trainings, customized in-company trainings, and a quality job portal. QSB aims to promote quality culture in India and provide customized solutions to help organizations improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and achieve long-term growth.
3. Presently worldwide Industries (specially manufacturing sectors) have shortage of Quality
professionals at different levels. 10K Small, Medium & Large Scale Organizations considered
for these figures.

6. As per 2014 India Skill report by CII (Configuration of Indian Industry):
Ø 10% MBA graduates and 17% of Engineering students are employable
Ø A demand supply gap of 82~86% in core professions
Ø IT Sector is expected to face 3.5 million skilled employees shortage
Ø Up to 42% of women were reported to be employable as against 30% men
Ø 4.3 million- which is per annum current training capacity in India estimated to
meet only 20% of Indian Industry’s Annual requirements of 22 million skilled
workforces
Ø 70% gaps observed in sector specific skills, 20% in softs and managerial skills
and 10% in leadership skills
7. As per NASSCOM report; IT spend 0.75 Billion USD on training of fresher
graduates annually to bridge the gaps between Campus to Companies. This is
one of reason to do outsource the recruitment process by most of the IT
Companies. Wipro InfoTech is planning to hand over its entire staff recruitment
responsibilities to People-strong. Every company wants to hire only right person
for the right jobs, who can take responsibility for assigned tasks from day one
and must have ability to deliver the desired results.
Therefore more than 70% of Indian employers are expected to outsource
complete or parts of their recruitment process over the next 5 years, says a
Randstad India Report.
8. Indian industries require millions of
skilled employees to meet the
requirement of campaign “MAKE IN
INDIA” with Zero defect Quality and its
Zero effect on environments (adverse
impact of industries on environment).

as experienced Individuals. There will be up to
40% hike in salaries of employees with best
performances this year. The average hike in
salaries may be 15~20% in this year (2015)
against 10~12% in year 2014. According to
myhiring.com, particularly fresher will get more
jobs in the year 2015 as compared to last three
years and job seekers will get a positive
response this year. (Source Economic Times

Quality System Basics
“Lean” means “without waste”
The term Six Sigma originated from terminology associated with manufacturing, specifically terms
associated with statistical modeling of manufacturing processes. The maturity of a manufacturing
process can be described by a sigma rating indicating its yield or the percentage of defect-free
products it creates. A six sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of the products manufactured are
statistically expected to be free of defects (3.4 defective parts/million), although this defect level
corresponds to only a 4.5 sigma level. Motorola set a goal of "six sigma" for all of its manufacturing
operations, and this goal became a by-word for the management and engineering practices used to
achieve it.
“Lean Six Sigma” means “Solution of problems and elimination of wastages from entire Business
model by using six sigma methodology.”
18. q An Integrated Management System approach to Business Sustainability
Integrated management systems
Integrated means combined; putting all the internal management practices into one system but not as separate
components. For these systems to be an integral part of the company's management system there have to be linkages
so that the boundaries between processes are seamless.
An integrated management system (IMS) is a management system which integrates all components of a business into
one coherent system so as to enable the achievement of its purpose and mission.
What should be integrated?
Anything which has an effect on business results must be part of the management system. Therefore, an IMS should
integrate all currently formalised systems focusing on quality, health and safety, environment, personnel, finance,
security etc. What this means is that all the processes and the documents that describe them would be integrated.
Corporate Policies and guidelines, various Customer Specific requirements, best practices, Regulatory and
Statutory requirements (as applicable) also could be integrated.
Why should management systems be integrated?
There are several good reasons for integration, to:
§ reduce duplication and therefore costs
§ reduce risks and increase profitability
§ balance conflicting objectives
§ eliminate conflicting responsibilities and relationships
§ diffuse the power system
§ turn the focus onto business goals
§ formalise informal systems
§ harmonise and optimise practices
§ create consistency
§ improve communication
§ facilitate training and development 18
