2. The media trailer we have created is effective with the combination of our ancillary
tasks as we have used an image from the actual trailer for the film poster. This
links the film poster and the trailer together, making it distinctive and unique.
This indicates that the audience will will immediately recognise that the film
poster belongs to the trailer. The image we have used is a shot from the actual
media trailer, therefore this links the media trailer to the film poster and it then
becomes an effective combination as it then establishing the location in which
the film trailer is set and it also introduces the actresses that will be in the film
trailer. The image we have used for the film trailer has been edited into the
effect of black & white, which makes the film poster fit the genre of the film
trailer. The black & white effect that we have used for the film poster highlights
the grey and dull atmosphere and focuses on the foggy grey elements. This
will also look effective towards the genre of our film trailer. The blank & white
effect also highlights the text which in on the film poster.
Not only did we use an image from our final product, but we have used the same
unique styling of text that we have used in the end of our final media product.
The colour we have used for the text of the film title is red. We have used the
colour red as it symbolizes danger. This is effective because the film is a
thriller so this signifies that the film trailer we have created will include danger.
We have decided on the colour red as it is an implication to the action and
ghost elements within our final media product.

4. FILM MEDIA TRAILER & MAGAZINE COVER
We came to the decision when creating the film poster, that to make the
magazine cover look effective and combine with the film trailer that we
needed to use one of the actresses from the media trailer. We have used
one of the actresses when she is in character. This is effective as it
creates a distinctive look to the magazine. The actress is wearing the
same attire in the front cover of the ancillary task as she is in the main
media trailer product. This is effective to the audience, as it immediately
shows that the character on the front cover of the magazine we have
created is linked to the film trailer that we have made.
The colours that we have used in the film magazine are ice blue, black and
white. These colors differ from the colours that’s we used for the film
poster, we have done this to create a clear division of the publishing
company and the production company. The colours we have used
represent the genre of the film, we have used icy blue to represent the
supernatural element of the film trailer.
