  2. 2. introduction <ul><li>Have you ever baked cupcakes? You've probably used a pre-made dry  box in a store and you add  liquid materials like eggs milk and sometimes even water but you can learn in eight easy steps how to make tasty cupcakes and vanilla icing. </li></ul>
  3. 3. materials <ul><li>  first you will need an oven, apron, dry measuring cups, large bowl,  a small bowl to melt/soften butter,electric mixer, sifter, wax paper, liquid measuring cup, 24 cupcake holders, oven mitts/ hot pads, wire racks,  1 1/2 sticks of  softened butter, </li></ul><ul><li>  2 cups of white sugar, 3 eggs, 2 1/2 cups baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla  </li></ul>
  4. 4. supplies for icing <ul><li>large bowl, knife to frost the cupcakes, 2 cups of powdered sugar, 2 1/2  to 3 tablespoons of milk, 1 tablespoons of melted butter, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, food coloring (optional)  </li></ul>
  5. 5. stepts to make liquid part of batter <ul><li>After you get all the supplies out on  a counter or table walk to  an oven that you can use and preheat it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Take the 1 1/2 sticks of butter and put it in a smaller bowl and take the bowl to the microwave and put the bowl with butter in there and close the door of the mirowave find the timer and set it for 15 seconds. When done take it out of the microwave and put it in the large bowl. Then you take the white sugar and measure out 2 cups then put the cups of sugar in the large bowl. After that you get out the electric mixer and put the beaters in the bowl then turn the mixer's switch on meduim and beat the batter until there aren't any lumps and the mixture is sugar lump free. Next crack the eggs open on the side of the bowl take the half the egg in each hand put your thumbs in the cracks open the egg make sure the shell doesn't get in the mix let the yolk and white seep out and then throw the shell away into the trash can. Get out the mixer again and put the switch on meduim and beat until all the egg is mixed into the batter. </li></ul>
  6. 6. how to make dry part of the batter <ul><li>next get out the sifter and pull off a long sheet of wax paper off the roll set it on an open space on the counter.measure out the </li></ul><ul><li>2 1/2 cups flour, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and the 1/8 teaspoon of salt into the sifter and sift together thoroughly. add 1/2 of the flour mixture to the liquid batter along with 1/2 cup of milk get out the mixer and mix on medium until there are no dry patches and it is smooth then add the other half of the flour mixture to the batter along with 1/2 cup milk once again beat with mixer. </li></ul>
  7. 7. how to prepare the cupcakes  for the oven <ul><li>Then when you are done making the batter you're ready to put them in t6he holders in the pan. Get  out the holders and put them in the pan next put some Crisco oil in the holders so you can get out the cupcakes so you can frost them. Then take the bowl of batter and pour some batter into the holders about 2/3 full. (If you have some extra batter add it to the holders that have a little less batter to even it out.) </li></ul>
  8. 8. cooking the cupcakes <ul><li>Then when you are ready to put the cupcakes into the oven you take the pan to the oven that is preheated to 350 degrees and open it (step back because there will be a wave of heat) put the pan/pans into the oven horizontally one on top one on the bottom (if you have two if making a smaller batch put it on the top then in the middle of the cooking switch it so put it on the bottom). Turn on a timer it can be on or off of the oven to 18 min. or so just until the tops are golden brown. Put your oven mitts on and open the oven stand back then take the pans out  set the pans on the hot pads and let them coll for around 11 min.      </li></ul>
  9. 9. how to frost cupcakes <ul><li>When the cupcakes are  cool enough take them out and individually  set them on the wire racks. To make the frosting measure out 2 cups of POWDERED sugar into a bowl. Now take the small bowl you used earlier to soften the butter and take 1 tablespoon of it put it to the bowl. Take the bowl over to the microwave and set it in there shut the door and set the timer on the microwave for around 30-40 sec. When done add it to the mix along with 2 1/2-3 tablespoons of milk amd 1/2 vanilla extract. take out the mixer and mix on medium until there are no clumps. </li></ul>
  10. 10. conclusion <ul><li>  Now that you know how to make cupcakes yu can make them for special occasion or just for fun. People might think wow these are really good. </li></ul>
