In this study, the author took an in depth look at sport commitment at the collegiate level. The
majority of studies has been done previously focused on youth athletes and showed that their
primary motivator for commitment was involvement (Jordan, 2009). To provide more insight,

High School Sports Research Paper
Every year over 7,807,000 high school students, including me, play a sport through their school
(they are counted twice if they play two sports and so on) (NFHS). I have found that playing
basketball is a great way to be involved in the school and meet new people. However, in the past 7
years sport participation in middle and high school has gone down by more than 4.9% (Facts: Sports
Activity). Playing a sport is important, studies show that playing sports in high school not only
builds character, but can also increase student health and fitness, and contribute to an athlete's future
success.
Competing in sports will grow one's character and teach important lessons that can only be learned
by playing on a team. When playing with other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When participating in extracurricular activities, especially sports, students' schedules are packed. On
season, students often have three or four, two hour practices a week, and at least two games that they
are expected to attend for over fours hours, as well as workouts and other training. Students have to
learn how to balance school, sports and friends. A survey "of 400 female corporate executives found
94% played a sport and that 61% say that has contributed to their career success" (Facts: Sports
Activity), time management is an important skill that everyone needs and can learn from
participating in one or more sports. With so much time devoted to an athlete's sport, stress can build
up, it is important to learn how to correctly deal with stress and get through it. Learning how to deal
with stress while consequences are minimal is important to avoid a crisis. In high school if one can
"Adopt the right attitude can convert a negative stress into a positive one" (Hans) their life will
become substantially easier. Stress management is an important skill, which after learned, will
useful in all aspects of life including getting good grades. Good grades in high school can be a
important stepping stone for success, those who play sports tend to have better grades than those
who don't. A study by the NCHSAA showed that in three separate years Athletes

Is Dance A Sport Essay
Is dance a sport? Many people right now are thinking "How is the harlem shake or the cupid shuffle
a sport?", but that is not what we are talking about, we are talking about dance sports and teams.
"But Sport is in the name DANCESPORT" is what some are saying now, but many still don't accept
this kind of dance as a sport yet. There are two sides to this argument, those who are for dance as a
sport are usually those who are in a dance sport or are educated in the subject. While those who are
against it as a sport tend to not be part of a dance sport or just don't know what they are truly talking
about. So why don't we delve into this argument. Let's start with the definition of a sport. Oxford

Traits: Determination, Analytical, Immature to Mature
In the novel, "The Curious Incident of the dog in the Night–Time" by Mark Haddon, the protagonist,
Christopher, is trying to solve some of the mysteries that surround his life in Swindon, and get to his
mother's place and back through a mature understanding of social integration. In Swindon, some
positive influences of mother in his past lead to some maturity and parts of his analytical trait, but
primarily, determination and immaturity direct Christopher's autism when solving the mystery of
'who killed Wellington'. During the transition from Swindon to Mother's house in London,
Christopher's analytical trait is starting to be seen, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When he goes into the store, it is very crowded. Immaturity directs his autism when he crouches on
the floor with his hands over his ears. Immaturity is directing his autism, and drawing away from
social integration because Christopher does not understand that because he is crouching down in the
middle of the store, he is blocking everyone else who is trying to shop. Furthermore, when
Christopher's mother tries to move him, Christopher starts to scream in the store, drawing bad
attention to himself, and drawing further away from his understanding of social integration. This
shows many immature decisions directing his autism because he is not yet able to control his autistic
traits, contrasting to in the end, when he is able to recognize his autistic traits, and control them with
his mature understanding of social integration. In addition, Christopher shows immaturity in his past
when he is able to recognize and reflect maturely on his immature acts that were directing his
autism. When Christopher recognizes his behavioural problems that he used to have, he is able to
reflect on the reasoning of his problems, and know that he has matured from his past. Determination
directs his autism when he gets cross with people if the furniture is moved. This is because he is
determined through his mother's positive influences to keep everything in a strict order, and

Sports Management Personal Statement
My interest in sports management is an ongoing process. Throughout my entire life I have been part
of several sports related opportunities, and my love for the game of soccer has only grown over the
years. In a perfect scenario my plan would be to be an Athletic Director, Higher Education not only
because there is a very broad field in that area but also because according to "Sports management
degree" there is a 15% projected to grow from now to 2022, and the salary is at an average of
$99,585. Not only will this area guide me to a secure future but I will also be able to form and shape
the upcoming youth. The job of a direct is to guide you into learning about discipline, sportsmanship
skills, and respect for the sport. The next step in educational career is going to be attending Florida
State University, because it is one of the best public universities in the state and it manages one of
the highest ranking sports management programs. Since my plan is to further my education as a

For example, in the same day you might be captaining your college sports team where you show a
lot of leadership behaviours, then working as an employee at your part–time job where you will
have to follow a lot of instructions. The psychological core is what people often call 'the real you'
and is the part of you that contains your beliefs, values, attitudes and interests; these aspects are seen
as being relatively constant or stable. Typical responses are the usual ways that you respond to the
world around you or different situations you may find yourself in. For example, you may always get
angry and shout after being intentionally fouled in football because you feel that deliberate fouls are
un–sporting behaviour, but you may be quiet and shy when you meet people for the first time
because you don't want to overawe them. Your role–related behaviour is often determined by the
circumstances you find yourself in and this is the most changeable aspect of personality. Put simply,
your personality changes as your perception of your environment changes. For example, in the same

Sports Direct Case Summary
The Independent Auditor's Report and the Outlook for the Business As mentioned earlier, Grant
Thornton mainly focused on Sports Direct's internal operations such as accounting for Sports
Direct's acquisition activities and forward contracts for foreign currencies, the carrying value of
inventories, disclosures to related parties, and revenue recognition (Sports Direct International Plc
2016, p.64). These were the primary audit risks identified by the auditors. But Grant Thornton failed
to find out SD's fraudulent practices regarding its undisclosed payments to Barlin Delivery Ltd.
However, the auditor provided detailed description about the risky areas in SD's accounting
practices and made proper connections with all the relevant and accepted accounting standards. In
addition to that, they made declarations about SD's past performance in those risky areas and
whether they have improved in the recent years or not. And finally, Grant Thornton also made
attempts to find out if SD had taken any steps to deal with these risky accounting practices, and they

enough for the company to address these concerns. In addition, SD must resolve its concerns

The Arrows Between Cortisol And The Three Core Needs
The arrows between cortisol and the three core needs are shown as a dashed arrow to reflect the
negative relationships against fandom/ fanship formation. The solid arrows circulate from output to
sporting events participation reveal the impacts of different psychological or behavioral
consequences may influence the desire to participate in sporting events, therefore, activate next
round of neurochemical release. Hence, the fanatic behavior will be continually reinforced or
weakened.
For example, a blowout loss to an archrival or a shocking loss to a lower seeded opponent may
cause negative emotions such as displeasure, anger and shame, thus trigger cortisol. At that moment,
the fan realizes that he cannot satisfy his needs, so he tries to do something to stop the anger. He
may avoid discussing the shameful experience with his friends or refuse to read or watch any media
coverage of this embarrassing loss (Partridge, Wann, & Elison, 2010). If he undergoes this suffering
frequently, his fandom identification and spectating motivation will eventually vanish and then he
may try to involve in another activity that can trigger his happy chemicals and satisfy his needs.
Spectating sporting events does not produce negative outcomes all the time; it actually can trigger
another type of chemicals that make sport fans want to maximize their participation. For instance,
when a football fan steps into the stadium, the rhythmic swaying of fellow fans or the coordinated
exposure of music

The Impact Of Sports On Sports Industry
The study of Pitts et al. (1994), the books of Parks, et al (1998) and additional studies including
Meek (1997) allow us to reach a definition of sport industry; the sports industry is a market wherein
the products manufactured and offered to its customers are sport, recreation and fitness related and
may be activities, amenities or people.
Sports we support, follow and play today are part of our day–to–day lives and we forget that over
250 years ago the sports established today did not yet exist and the few that did would be

The Industrial Revolution, beginning in Great Britain, quickly spread throughout the world. This
time period saw the mechanisation of agriculture and textile manufacturing and a revolution in
power (i.e., steam ships and railroads) and had a massive effect on social, cultural and economic
conditions. The Industrial Revolution had an enormous effect on Sport in Britain. Many changes
that may appear far from linked to sport had a direct effect on how sport was played, when sport was
played, and how much more sport was encompassed into everyday life. The revolution saw mass
migration into the main urban, city areas of an area. In order for workers to travel to work and also
for factories and mills to deliver their goods transport was developed quickly. This development
helped towns and cities grow, and it also helped sport surge in popularity. Teams now had the
option, and availability to travel to different towns and play teams from all over the country. In
return supporters were also allowed to travel and support their local team or factory team. This
meant that more people could see sport and gain interest. This was helpful in encouraging people,
which would increase participation levels. The ability to travel quickly and conveniently between
towns and cities improved sporting contacts. However, the industrial revolution could not have been
seen as development. During the revolution a large class divide was

Sports In Sports
Introduction
The primary object of sports is, of course, exercise, but sports have a far greater impact on the
wellbeing of many besides physical health. Introducing new opportunities for youth, sports create
unbreakable bonds, build athletes' characters, unite communities, and promote teamwork.
Undoubtedly, sports can positively impact many children of all ages. As children grow older and
become more athletic, parents and athletes may consider specializing in one sport to maximize the
athlete's chance of earning a scholarship for college; furthermore, almost every youth athlete, myself
included, dreams of becoming a professional athlete one day, so they will do anything to achieve
that goal. On the contrary, specializing in one sport may have the opposite effect. Depriving
themselves from diverse environments, specialized athletes are excluded from valuable lessons that
are beneficial for sports and life. Specializing in one sport today is not merely playing one season of
a sport, but specialization is intensely concentrating on one sport year–round. For this reason,
athletes should play multiple sports because focusing on one sport all year does not produce the
same benefits as playing multiple sports throughout the year. Most athletes, including myself, would
probably agree that they love more than one sport, and if this is the case, then athletes should
participate in every sport they love. After all, the purpose of sports is not to earn money or to
become famous but to

SOCIAL:
Attending sports games is a very social activity that people tend to do in groups rather than alone,
this is very beneficial to our marketing campaign as for every person we market too, a small group
finds out about the event. By increasing attendance, we are generating a social hub which will be
appealing for people considering attending due to a "fun" atmosphere. Furthermore, as young adults

Alumni: With alumni making up the large majority of the fan base at Westerns varsity games, we
already have a very large and loyal following. With successful marketing in this target market,
Morton should focus his attention on ensuring that alumni continue to return yearly by offering new

Upper year students: Upper year students make up the large majority of the Western population, but
as they are further in their education they have reached a point where their education is their priority.
Despite having less disposable income, as upper year students will be going out less often (due to
their busy schedules), they will be more willing to spend money on a more "luxury" night.
First–year students: With 4566 first–year students they are the longest–term potential clients, and are
arguably the most social. First year students living in residence are often likely to attend events in
large groups , there's also a large concentration of these students in just 9 buildings. Also, these
students often have to purchase food on a daily basis and tend to have the most disposable income.

Personal Narrative: Lacrosse Is A Way Of Life
Lacrosse is not just a sport nor a hobby; it is a way of life. Teammates are not just friends, they are
family. To illustrate, lacrosse forms bonds just as strong as friendships and family. In my opinion,
lacrosse is an encouraging, sublime sport that should be apart of everybody's lives. First or all, I play
lacrosse for many reasons. To begin, I am my team's goalie, and will hopefully play goalie during
my high school career. I played the field for two years (beginning in third grade), and goalie for
three more, landing me here in my fifth year of lacrosse. I play to help my team, encourage them,
tell them where an open player is, and most importantly, I play for my love of the sport and my
teammates. Every year, I look forward to the season to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I love making a shot and hearing my supportive coaches cheer me on, remind me of details to
remember, and teach me ways to improve. I am grateful for the entire sport of lacrosse and hope to
continue playing, if not as goalie, as a field player. To sum up, lacrosse is a sport that has become a
major part of my daily life.
Lacrosse, through my viewpoint, helps me everyday. First, some benefits lacrosse has given me are
learning to be a team player, a leader as the goalie, and skills in communicating from player to
player. For example, I have to conduct my defense if the team will function. I am always trying to
direct and figure out who to watch as a threat, who is open, and who needs to pick up a driving
player. These beneficial components in my life from lacrosse show me how to be a friend and part of
a team, and a leader when others need quick guidance. In addition, some lessons lacrosse has taught
me are that you cannot always win, you have to play as a team, and to loosen up. First, being a
goalie, it is stressful when the team gets down and we might not win. I feel responsible for the loss
and feel extremely upset when I let my team down. As my

1– Introduction of the company 1.1 History:
In 1982 a store in Maidenhead is opened by Mike Ashley. It's the birth of Sports Direct. However
this name was not the first one. Indeed, it was called primarily Mike Ashley Sports. In the 1990s, the
founder opened many stores in and around London and over 100 stores across the United Kingdom.
By that time, the name of the chain was changed to Sports Soccer. Although the high number of
stores, Mike Ashley was a sole trader and his chain did not acquire the company status until 1999.
By doing so, the borrowing power of the company increased and in 2002 he went on to buy
Lillywhites, the prestigious sports shop in Piccadilly Circus. In 2005, Sports Direct acquired
Hargreaves, Gilesports, Streetwise in 2006, and Field&Trek in 2007(History of the Company.

Judo: A Sudden Solar Plexuses Spasm
Judo is a sport that that trains individuals in unarmed combat by leveraging an opponents off
balance momentum for throws and submissions. Because Judo does not incorporate any punches,
kicks, or other striking movements like some traditional martial arts disciplines, Judo requires a
tremendous amount dynamic power to control another persons body and throw them to the ground.
Consequently, the amount of force that is driven into the opponent and subsequently to the ground
can have devastating effects. One such effect on an individual is a sudden solar plexuses spasm. The

Sports Direct is the UK's largest sporting goods retailer which were founded in 1982. The core
business of this company is to provide a wide range of sports, fitness and fashion products to the
public. Recently, Sports Direct has been hit by several negative news over its poor treatment of their
workers and faced the challenge for the management reshuffle in the company. This report will show
the problem on sales management, profit warnings and the employment contract for a sample of
Sports Direct. Besides, make some recommendations about how it can make changes to the aspects
of sales management, marketing strategies, and equal treatment in employment.

There are many factors can affect the sales volume of business, the customer services are just one
part of them. The good customer cervices keep the customer in, and the bad customer services keep
the customer away. When customers are unsatisfied with the product or service that is offered by a
company, they will not recommend the company to others, in other words, the sales decreased
indirectly. And the negative experience of the customers even may lead to the financial problems for
the business. For Sports Direct, the customer services could be

Why Is Early Sport-Specialization: Helpful Or Harmful?
Early sport–specialization may impede or impair the quality of life of children. Starting as early as 3
years old (Wojtys, 2013) kids are selected for specialized sport training for a singular sport.
Supported by parental/adult figures, a person in early to middle childhood ( 1 to approximately 10
years of age, varying with gender ) is selected for intense practice in a single sport. Thought to be
beneficial, ESS can be detrimental to the child(ren)'s health. Dependency on sporting, uncertain
success in future sport, psychological stress in early life, physical stress and injury affecting growth,

Argumentative Essay: Is Cheerleading A Sport?

cheerleader. If you are not a athlete you will never understand the hard work and dedication it takes
to be a cheerleader or I rather say athlete. Do you know the risk and injuries that can occur while

The most common cause of death is cardiac failure, brain injuries such as seizures, and heat
illness(Fatalities in High School). These are all considered indirect deaths because it was a death
caused by internal failures. A direct death is caused by a hit or impact with the ground. Some
examples of direct deaths are neck injuries, punctured spleens or lungs from a broken rib. The
amount of deaths has raised a concern about whether football should be changed to make it safer.
Even though the rules have changed deaths still occur. The amount of time you can practice during

Why We Should Not Participate In Competitive Sports
Lots of people argue about the safety of competitive sports. Not every sport has a risk of brain
damage as there are many sports that don't have to do with playing with our heads like cross country
since it has to do with running. Scientist say that long term brain damage is at a high rate from a
head injury in sports like track, football, soccer, and many more. Competitive sports can be learned
without competition at an older age. However not for young developing children. It's clear that
overall having your child not participate in competitive sports is a good idea.I choose this because

Competitive Advantage says that "a positive attitude can affect how you play and how well you do.
Encouragement can help defeat obstacles in the game and confidence is what makes you a better

from sport is observed". "Changing the future of youth sports for the better needs a collaborative

Argumentative Essay-Dance Is A Sport
Dance is a Sport
Is dance a sport? A sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or
team competes against another or others for entertainment, dance is just that, but others consider it
an art or even just a halftime show. Dance teams in high schools do not get funded as much as other
sports and they get very little to no recognition at school or even on big sports channels. Dance
meets the requirements to even be an Olympic sport. Dance should be considered a sport as much as
other athletics.
First of all, there is very little funding that goes into dance, considering it is a sport and needs to be
equal to the other athletics. At Madisonville North Hopkins High School the dance team starts out
the season with only the remaining money that the team raised the previous season, it is different
from other sports. For example, football was given $9,500 this year to start out the season. Another

accounts of dance that people witness is at halftime during a game. Dance does not have a weekly

another reason why many don't see it as a sport. The only events that dance has is big competitions
that usually happen on the weekends. In dance, you can compete against large groups, duets, or even

Sports is one of the largest recreational activities in canada, with over 2 million kids aged 5 to 14,
took part in sports. However, our government has decreased its funding over sports. From 2014 to
2015, 201.98 million dollars were funded but from 2015 to 2016, only 196.78 milion dollars were

regularly participate in sports than they were back in 1992 and those who do compete are involved
in fewer sports. The decline rate will continue unless our government promotes sports heavily,
through schools and community sport programs. Our governent should dedicate more money on

Impact Of Sporting Activities On Sporting Events
Sporting events have become a major source of economic, infrastructural and social development in
numerous countries around the world. This is because of the economic benefits associated with
hosting a sporting event. Economic impact in sporting events can be defined as the net change in an
economy resulting from a sport event. The change is caused by activity involving the acquisition,
operation, development, and use of sport facilities and services (Lieber & Alton, 1983). The net
change here refers to the difference between the income entering the economy as a result of the
sporting event and the income that would have entered despite the event. The economic impacts are
composed of direct, indirect and induced effects. The direct effects are the purchases needed to meet
the increased demand of visitors for goods and services. Indirect effects are the ripple effect caused
by the additional rounds of recirculating the initial visitor's money. Induced effects are the increase
in employment and household income that result from the economic activity resulting from the
direct and indirect effects (Lee, 2008). Countries in anticipation of these benefits host sport event. It
is as a result of this that countries bid to host global sporting events such as the Olympics. While the
point of any country hosting a sport event is to attract economic benefits, the strategy used in
attracting these benefits vary from country to country (Matheson and Baade, 2011). For the sake of

High School Sports Research Paper Every year over 7,807,000 high school students, including me, play a sport through their school (they are counted twice if they play two sports and so on) (NFHS). Many people right now are thinking "How is the harlem shake or the cupid shuffle a sport?", but that is not what we are talking about, we are talking about dance sports and teams. "But Sport is in the name DANCESPORT" is what some are saying now, but many still don't accept this kind of dance as a sport yet. There are two sides to this argument, those who are for dance as a sport are usually those who are in a dance sport or are educated in the subject. While those who are against it as a sport tend to not be part of a dance sport or just don't know what they are truly talking about. So why don't we delve into this argument. In Swindon, some positive influences of mother in his past lead to some maturity and parts of his analytical trait, but primarily, determination and immaturity direct Christopher's autism when solving the mystery of 'who killed Wellington'. For example, in the same day you might be captaining your college sports team where you show a lot of leadership behaviours, then working as an employee at your part–time job where you will have to follow a lot of instructions. The psychological core is what people often call 'the real you' and is the part of you that contains your beliefs, values, attitudes and interests; these aspects are seen as being relatively constant or stable. Typical responses are the usual ways that you respond to the world around you or different situations you may find yourself in. For example, you may always get angry and shout after being intentionally fouled in football because you feel that deliberate fouls are un–sporting behaviour, but you may be quiet and shy when you meet people for the first time because you don't want to overawe them. Your role–related behaviour is often determined by the circumstances you find yourself in and this is the most changeable aspect of personality. Put simply, your personality changes as your perception of your environment changes. For example, in the same day you might be captaining your college sports team where you show a lot of leadership behaviours, then working as an employee at your part–time job where you will have to follow a lot of instructions. Sports Direct Case Summary The Independent Auditor's Report and the Outlook for the Business As mentioned earlier, Grant Thornton mainly focused on Sports Direct's internal operations such as accounting for Sports Direct's acquisition activities and forward contracts for foreign currencies, the carrying value of inventories, disclosures to related parties, and revenue recognition (Sports Direct International Plc 2016, p.64). These were the primary audit risks identified by the auditors. But Grant Thornton failed to find out SD's fraudulent practices regarding its undisclosed payments to Barlin Delivery Ltd. However, the auditor provided detailed description about the risky areas in SD's accounting practices and made proper connections with all the relevant and accepted accounting standards. In addition to that, they made declarations about SD's past performance in those risky areas and whether they have improved in the recent years or not. And finally, Grant Thornton also made attempts to find out if SD had taken any steps to deal with these risky accounting practices, and they also assessed the ... Since they are not big issues, I reckon 12 months would be enough for the company to address these concerns. The Arrows Between Cortisol And The Three Core Needs The arrows between cortisol and the three core needs are shown as a dashed arrow to reflect the negative relationships against fandom/ fanship formation. The solid arrows circulate from output to sporting events participation reveal the impacts of different psychological or behavioral consequences may influence the desire to participate in sporting events, therefore, activate next round of neurochemical release. Hence, the fanatic behavior will be continually reinforced or weakened. For example, a blowout loss to an archrival or a shocking loss to a lower seeded opponent may cause negative emotions such as displeasure, anger and shame, thus trigger cortisol. At that moment, the fan realizes that he cannot satisfy his needs, so he tries to do something to stop the anger. He may avoid discussing the shameful experience with his friends or refuse to read or watch any media coverage of this embarrassing loss (Partridge, Wann, & Elison, 2010). If he undergoes this suffering frequently, his fandom identification and spectating motivation will eventually vanish and then he may try to involve in another activity that can trigger his happy chemicals and satisfy his needs. Spectating sporting events does not produce negative outcomes all the time; it actually can trigger another type of chemicals that make sport fans want to maximize their participation. Sports we support, follow and play today are part of our day–to–day lives and we forget that over 250 years ago the sports established today did not yet exist and the few that did would be unappealing and unrecognisable to the sports fans of today. The Industrial Revolution had an enormous effect on Sport in Britain. Many changes that may appear far from linked to sport had a direct effect on how sport was played, when sport was played, and how much more sport was encompassed into everyday life. The revolution saw mass migration into the main urban, city areas of an area. In order for workers to travel to work and also for factories and mills to deliver their goods transport was developed quickly. This development helped towns and cities grow, and it also helped sport surge in popularity. Teams now had the option, and availability to travel to different towns and play teams from all over the country. In return supporters were also allowed to travel and support their local team or factory team. This meant that more people could see sport and gain interest. This was helpful in encouraging people, which would increase participation levels. The ability to travel quickly and conveniently between towns and cities improved sporting contacts. • 31. Sports In Sports Introduction The primary object of sports is, of course, exercise, but sports have a far greater impact on the wellbeing of many besides physical health. Introducing new opportunities for youth, sports create unbreakable bonds, build athletes' characters, unite communities, and promote teamwork. Undoubtedly, sports can positively impact many children of all ages. As children grow older and become more athletic, parents and athletes may consider specializing in one sport to maximize the athlete's chance of earning a scholarship for college; furthermore, almost every youth athlete, myself included, dreams of becoming a professional athlete one day, so they will do anything to achieve that goal. On the contrary, specializing in one sport may have the opposite effect. Depriving themselves from diverse environments, specialized athletes are excluded from valuable lessons that are beneficial for sports and life. Specializing in one sport today is not merely playing one season of a sport, but specialization is intensely concentrating on one sport year–round. For this reason, athletes should play multiple sports because focusing on one sport all year does not produce the same benefits as playing multiple sports throughout the year. Most athletes, including myself, would probably agree that they love more than one sport, and if this is the case, then athletes should participate in every sport they love. After all, the purpose of sports is not to earn money or to become famous but to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To illustrate, lacrosse forms bonds just as strong as friendships and family. In my opinion, lacrosse is an encouraging, sublime sport that should be apart of everybody's lives. First or all, I play lacrosse for many reasons. To begin, I am my team's goalie, and will hopefully play goalie during my high school career. I played the field for two years (beginning in third grade), and goalie for three more, landing me here in my fifth year of lacrosse. Lacrosse, through my viewpoint, helps me everyday. First, some benefits lacrosse has given me are learning to be a team player, a leader as the goalie, and skills in communicating from player to player. For example, I have to conduct my defense if the team will function. I am always trying to direct and figure out who to watch as a threat, who is open, and who needs to pick up a driving player. These beneficial components in my life from lacrosse show me how to be a friend and part of a team, and a leader when others need quick guidance. In addition, some lessons lacrosse has taught me are that you cannot always win, you have to play as a team, and to loosen up. First, being a goalie, it is stressful when the team gets down and we might not win. I feel responsible for the loss and feel extremely upset when I let my team down. As my ... • 66. Why We Should Not Participate In Competitive Sports Lots of people argue about the safety of competitive sports. Not every sport has a risk of brain damage as there are many sports that don't have to do with playing with our heads like cross country since it has to do with running. Scientist say that long term brain damage is at a high rate from a head injury in sports like track, football, soccer, and many more. Competitive sports can be learned without competition at an older age. However not for young developing children. It's clear that overall having your child not participate in competitive sports is a good idea.I choose this because (parents get to overwhelmed), because (it could have a long term impact), and because (it could affect self esteem. One reason is that parent get ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chad.org states that competitive sports can be difficult for some children and hard to keep up in. It also states that parents should keep an eye out for the difficult levels and upsetness for their child. This is difficult for parents when they get to carried away in the sport. Which can cause conflict. Competitive Advantage says that "a positive attitude can affect how you play and how well you do. Encouragement can help defeat obstacles in the game and confidence is what makes you a better player." But how can we do this when it's all about winning in the parents, coaches, and teammates eyes. "Low self–confidence can kill an athlete's enjoyment of the sport and turn him/her into a dropout statistic." "Dr. G teaching tale is to beware of the self–confidence killer.". Donna LMerke states evidence from the National Institutes of Health and the Us National Library of Medicine " During the adolescent years, some athletes may experience a decrease in flexibility, coordination, and balance, which not only increases the risk of injury, but also impacts sports performance, placing more stress, anxiety, and social pressure on the young athlete. As participation in youth sports continues to rise, a direct impact on injury rates, medical costs, family burden, and time away from sport is observed". "Changing the future of youth sports for the better needs a collaborative effort between parents, coaches, teachers, health ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 68. Argumentative Essay-Dance Is A Sport Dance is a Sport Is dance a sport? A sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment, dance is just that, but others consider it an art or even just a halftime show. Dance teams in high schools do not get funded as much as other sports and they get very little to no recognition at school or even on big sports channels. Dance meets the requirements to even be an Olympic sport. Dance should be considered a sport as much as other athletics. First of all, there is very little funding that goes into dance, considering it is a sport and needs to be equal to the other athletics. At Madisonville North Hopkins High School the dance team starts out the season with only the remaining money that the team raised the previous season, it is different from other sports. For example, football was given $9,500 this year to start out the season. Another major issue is that the dance team has to practice in the lobby, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Have you ever heard dance talked about on the big sports channels announcing that a team won the regionals competition, or that they are advancing to Nationals? No, because many do not think about the competitive aspect of dance, they only think about the stereotypical ballerinas. Usually the only accounts of dance that people witness is at halftime during a game. Dance does not have a weekly event scheduled for it like soccer, basketball, or other high school or college sports teams, which is another reason why many don't see it as a sport. The only events that dance has is big competitions that usually happen on the weekends. In dance, you can compete against large groups, duets, or even soloist. They also do not think about the time and hard work that is put into the sport. Dance requires strength, endurance, and coordination. It takes a lot of practice to be a strong dancer, just as it would in any other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, our government has decreased its funding over sports. From 2014 to 2015, 201.98 million dollars were funded but from 2015 to 2016, only 196.78 milion dollars were funded on sports. Moreover, sports participation of kids is declining. Boys now are less likely to regularly participate in sports than they were back in 1992 and those who do compete are involved in fewer sports. The decline rate will continue unless our government promotes sports heavily, through schools and community sport programs. Our governent should dedicate more money on these programs because sports are mainly promoted by such means, sports have heath benefits and sports make us smarter. • 74. Impact Of Sporting Activities On Sporting Events Sporting events have become a major source of economic, infrastructural and social development in numerous countries around the world. This is because of the economic benefits associated with hosting a sporting event. Economic impact in sporting events can be defined as the net change in an economy resulting from a sport event. The change is caused by activity involving the acquisition, operation, development, and use of sport facilities and services (Lieber & Alton, 1983). The net change here refers to the difference between the income entering the economy as a result of the sporting event and the income that would have entered despite the event. The economic impacts are composed of direct, indirect and induced effects. The direct effects are the purchases needed to meet the increased demand of visitors for goods and services. Indirect effects are the ripple effect caused by the additional rounds of recirculating the initial visitor's money. Induced effects are the increase in employment and household income that result from the economic activity resulting from the direct and indirect effects (Lee, 2008). Countries in anticipation of these benefits host sport event. It is as a result of this that countries bid to host global sporting events such as the Olympics. While the point of any country hosting a sport event is to attract economic benefits, the strategy used in attracting these benefits vary from country to country (Matheson and Baade, 2011). Zirin also spoke about athletes and the abilities to protest. At the time of the interview the topic of protest was the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Russia had enacted laws that would put anyone participating in gay propaganda in jail. When Zirin was asked if athletes should protest these games, he said that athletes should use this as a platform for LGBT rights. Many injuries do happen as an outcome of playing sports that could stop a child from being able to play a sport ever again. Although, there is evidence that supports how technology can solve injuries when they are caused. Having built in sensors shown by an illuminated strip in the front, FITGuard provides a way to keep kids safe.
