6. What does Shear Stress mean?
shear stress, force tending to
cause deformation of a material by
slippage along a plane or planes
parallel to the imposed stress .
7. What Physics Says:
By the language of Physics, shear stress
is a stress state in which the shape of a
material tends to change (usually by
"sliding" forces -- torque by transversely-acting
forces) without particular volume
change.
16. From figure,we can notice that,
a) There will be Shear Stresses acting at every
cross section of the beam and the resultant
shear stress at every cross section what gives a
shear force.
b) At top phase the shear stress(horizontal) is
tends to zero .
