A Pitch Presentation of our film - Misconception

2. Genre and Name
 We decided to call our film ‘In Canon’ because this is
an element in dance where one dancer follows the
next with the same move which is similar to the
effects of the mirror in our plot.
 The Genre of our film is a thriller we chose this
because we like the technical aspects of a thriller, for
example like the lighting and effects we can add
after filming.

3. Film influences
We were influenced by the black
swan because this has the dance
element that we were interested in
and it is also a thriller. This is
different to a usual thriller as they
are mainly based in haunted
houses or woods.

The unique selling point of
our film is that it is a dance
film and their aren’t many
dance films around at the
moment especially that are
thrillers.

6. Target audience
Our target audience would be 16 to 24 year olds and we
believe that it would attract mainly female audiences
purely because of the dance element in it.
This film would also be for audiences that are interested
in psychological thrillers.

7. Teaser trailer ideas
 In the teaser trailer we aim to use a montage of
quick shots to make it jumpy and thrilling as it is a
thriller.
 The clips will be a mix of dancers, a studio, mirrors,
the girls reactions etc.
 The non diegetic sound will include ballet music with
pauses and changes in tone to build up tension.
 We will include dark colours and dramatic lighting.

8. Poster ideas
 For the poster we aim to use dark colours as it is a
thriller and possibly dancers in a mirror where all of
them are doing the same pose however the
reflection of one dancer is different to her pose and
her outfit is a darker colour.

9. Magazine cover ideas
 For our magazine cover we were thinking of doing a
double exposed image with the two sides of the
dancer.
 One image will be the girl doing the real ballet pose
and the other would be her reflection, similar to the
one in the poster.
 In this magazine cover we will be using dark colours
again and dramatic lighting similar a spot light.
