Appositives
The boy went to the store, and the boy bought
some bread because the boy wanted to make a
sandwich for the boy and the boy’s girlfriend

been waiting to see. The boy and the boy’s
girlfriend ate quickly so that the boy and the boy’s
girlfriend would not be late, but when the boy and

(Subject)
Subject pronouns are often found
at the beginning of a sentence.
The subject of the sentence is the
person or thin that performs the
verb.

Object pronouns indicate the
recipient of an action.
They come after verbs and
prepositions

Pronouns

Possessive Adjectives vs.
Possessive Pronoun
Possessive Adjective
- modifies a noun that
follows them
Ex. My money is all gone.
His bag is too big.
Possessive Pronoun
- refers to a previously named
or understood noun
- They stand alone, not
followed by any other noun.
Ex. You have your vices, I
have mine.
Write PA if the underlined word is a Possessive
Adjective and write PP is the underlined word is
a Possessive Pronoun.
1. I think the chocolate cookies at the party was
hers.
2. The phone that was ringing is yours.

Indefinite Pronouns
- do not point to any particular
nouns, but refer to things or
people in general.
- few, everyone, all, some,
none, anything, nobody
