Case Study to show how the application of Project Management Approaches can lead to improvement in the process of production without affecting other processes
2. Introduction
• Process management should be continuous as only with the optimal process can
an organization remain successful.
• This leads to the need for project management led to process improvement.
3. Challenge
• No proper metrics were identified to objectify the actual increase in production.
• Effects on the procurement of resources, delivery, and warehousing for complete
products were completely missed.
4. Solution
• Identifying and documenting the current process which can be revisited during the
later stages of the process.
• Analyzing the current process and deciding on the matrix for time to market,
customer satisfaction, resource utilization, cost per unit.
• Analyzing the process as documented to make improvements.
• Design and develop changes.
• Validate the design.
• Review the changes and compare it with the desired baseline.
5. Result
• The task was challenging and I had to use all that I had learned during my PMP
certification in this project.
• The production saw a 30% increase without straining any other process.
• Although several processes had to be revisited, the final set of processes were
fully capable of addressing the increase in demand.
