NEWSLETTER SEP 16’ | Volume 8 | Issue 9
Warm Greetings!
We welcome you yet again to
another issue of the Newsletter.
This month has been a fun-filled
month where students have not
only vested their interests in various
workshops and projects in the field
of Academics but excelled
wonderfully in the field of Sports.
Many of the students have brought
back laurels and bagged positions
which duly are in need of admiration
and encouragement.
Every day we at CVSL encounter a
complete new enthusiasm and zeal
in various facets of teaching as well
as student life. I am sure each
student here will gladly vouch for
that. It’s a home away from home!
The various activities and events
held this month retributed a whole
new workmanship and
camaraderie among all. We at
CVSL wish each and all of you a
wonderful and peaceful Dussehra.
Teacher’s Day
The copious of entertainment –
“Teacher’s Day”! A day we all
relished and celebrated
together as one family.
All the students came together
and planned to do something
really memorable for the
teachers. The teacher’s day
started off with a very graceful
and energetic dance performance
by the Junior and Senior students
followed by some melodious
songs sung by our very own In-
House Nightingales.
There was a wonderful video
made by a student which marked
the significance of each and every
teacher in school. There were
even acts which consisted of
figure skating, classroom dramas
and a lot more. The effort put in
by the students was really
cherished by all the teachers and
was a moment of pride for them
to see how beautifully we
showcased our love for them.
The program took an interesting
turn when the teachers were
made to play a few games. In the
first game, they had to dance on a
newspaper which was a sight to
watch. The second game was a
‘Hidden – hint’ game, where they
had to get the list of things that
were announced by the host. The
final game was a dance ‘Face-off’

between two teachers and it was
the highlight of the entire show.
We got to see the fun side of
every teacher and I’m very sure
that every student picked up a
step or two.
It was pretty evident that this
was one day that would remain in
the memory of all the teachers
forever as it was a very
heartwarming experience for
them to see their kids put up such
a great show.

Directors Ishita Bhardwaj and
Ojasvini Dahiya and Deputy

told to write, shoot or even draw
cartoons about something they
saw or thought was intriguing.
Like every year it was a hard
task for them to remove the
press issues but in the end they
were successful, just like every
other year.
Everyone had a blast and had
millions of memories to take
along with them. We had two
socials after the sessions were
over, both with 2 different
themes. The one held on the first
night was “Bollywood Night”.
Everyone came up to the floor
and danced till their feet were
hurting. Keeping the tradition of

Hindi Divas
Hindi Divas is celebrated every year
on 14th of September throughout
the country to pay tribute to the
official language of India. Students
of Grade 10th organized a special
assembly under the guidance from
one of our most experienced Senior
Hindi faculty member. The assembly
unfolded beginning with a prayer
and explaining how important our
National language is and why is it
that it is now fading away.
5. NEWSLETTER JUN-AUG 2016 EDITION 5
Hindi is our National language and
we should respect and give honor to
it. Together with the economic
prosperity and technological
development in the country, the
language is losing its importance day
by day. Everyone wants to learn and
speak English in order to get success
in almost all the fields as there is
demand for the same. Language and
culture of any country plays an
important role in creating
intercultural relations between
countries. It reveals the history of
India from Ancient times and is the
key for our identity in the future. It
also plays a key role in uniting the
diversity in India. We should be
proud of our National language and
never be reluctant while speaking it.
Students of Grade 10 put up a
wonderful assembly, and were
proud to celebrate the day
committed to their National
language. It was celebrated
wholeheartedly by all the students.

Guest Lecture by
Ashish Chawan
On Saturday, 24th of September, we
had the wonderful opportunity of
attending a Guest lecture by
Criminal lawyer Ashish Chawan who
came to our campus to talk about
being a lawyer and careers related to
law.
It started off with the High-School
students gathering in the AV Room
awaiting the guest lecturer eagerly.
After Mr Chawan arrived we were
given a presentation about how to
become a lawyer right from getting
into law school, to the types of
lawyers we can become after
Graduating. There was also
information about what subjects we
should take in school that will help
us. Good law schools, different types
of lawyers and time it takes to
graduate law school.
7. NEWSLETTER JUN-AUG 2016 EDITION 7
Finally we had a Question-Answer
session which had many kinds of
different and intriguing questions
like “How does it feel like to
interrogate criminals?” and
“Minimum time it takes to become a
lawyer?”
Following the Question-Answer
session, there was the morning tea
break and then the students were sent
off to their respective clubs. This
complete session was an eye opener
for many. A quote that comes to mind
“The end of law is not to abolish or
restrain, but to preserve and enlarge
freedom. For in all the states of
created beings capable of law, where
there is no law, there is no freedom.” –
