1. Risk Prevention
Tripping over tripod/shooting
equipment
Care must be taken to inform the cast
and crew of any objects that may
obstruct their path. This will be
maintained my telling the cast and
crew before filming starts that a
tripod/track and dolly/jib will be in
use and that they should be careful
when passing. Also all equipment will
be placed on a stable flat ground this is
to make sure they will not fall over and
that the camera will to securely
attached to the head of the tripod to
avoid it from falling.
Filming in an outdoor location Because part of the production will be
filmed in a forest location care must be
taken to ensure none of the cast or
crew put themselves in any danger.
Loose branches, uneven terrain and
wet mud could all be potential risks. To
minimize any threats an elected
member of the crew will first survey
the area for suitability to film and
noting any hazards that are present in
the location. If the location is deemed
to unsafe we will then move to another
safer site to continue filming.
Battery life of camera and memory
space.
Obvious concern should be shown
towards the battery life of the camera
and the amount of data the memory
card can hold to ensure the filming
runs smooth and efficiently. The
camera runs from a single purpose
made battery supplied by Canon, the
estimated life of this is 1.5 hours so to
conserve battery, the camera will be
switched off between shots. The
memory card used is a 16GB class 10
SD card This is sufficient for the
amount of filming that needs to be
done. The card must be class 10 to
record full 1080p HD.
Safety of equipment The safety of expensive equipment
being used during filming is
imperative. To make sure none of this
equipment is broken or stolen it will be
kept either in a secure location or close
to the filming location so that it can be
watched while other equipment is
2. being used. There will always be one
responsible person to watch over the
equipment at all times. If any
equipment is broken it will be taken
out of use and placed in a locked room
or safe location until it can be taken
away
