The Five Inch Case-It Binder
Have you ever paid more attention to your binder? Does it break all the time? Well, that always
happened to me, with all of my papers falling out and the rings breaking. But now, I use the five
inch Case–It binder. The five inch Case–It binder is good because it can hold a lot of materials that
you need, and I don't need to use a backpack. First of all, I can fit so many things into my binder and
the rings are five inches long, making a lot of space to put my papers. Also, there is a file in my
binder, so I can store all of my supplies, books, and even more papers. There is a lot of materials in
my binder that can fall out, but this binder is zippable, so none of your supplies or papers will fall
out. Zipping the binder is all you need

Theory of Gestalt Therapy
Theory of Gestalt Therapy
"What is Gestalt Therapy?" This is a question that has divided therapists for decades. Although
Gestalt Therapy is based on a set of techniques, it is ultimately the therapist own defined style that
makes it unique – from the theatrical techniques of Fritz Perls to the one–on–one approach of Jim
Simken.
According to G.M. Yontef (Awareness, Dialogue and Process Pg 203), Gestalt Therapy is: 1. a
bringing about of awareness 2. it is based on the I and Thou contact withdrawal process 3. its world
view is based on holism and field theory
Each and every one of us seeks to make sense of life's events, and as such a considerable amount of
time is spent in trying to analyse and explain these events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Premature closure feels better that leaving it open, but since the need is still unmet, it will continue
to demand attention. The result is a fixation on the part of the individual to resolve his 'unfinished
business'.
Another aspect of contact is that contact itself is but the highlight of a 'contact withdrawal cycle', i.e.
a cycle that occurs and reoccurs. Habitually, the therapist backs off and comes back again, listening
quietly without straining to figure everything out; information is given in a calm but impersonal
manner. It is important that the session itself develops a natural rhythm. Meaningful contact cannot
be attained or attempted every second. The client also needs to work hard to attain contact, and if
there is a pattern of inequality then it is best to change it. If the therapist is doing all the work, than
the client's needs may not be met or the therapist may be feeding into their desire to be spoon–fed. If
on the other hand the client is doing much more of the work, then the therapist may need to loosen
up and give more of himself. Sometimes, the therapist may need to have the client be still and quiet
so that he can do the work.
The client – therapist relationship is an important part of Gestalt Therapy. This "I – Thou"
relationship is a contact between two genuine people rather

Carl Rogers And Fritz Perls
Carl Rogers and Fritz Perls played important roles in the field of psychology. They modeled two
great theories that are still used in the current psychology and counseling sessions. Even though
Rogers and Perls are certainly two very extreme personalities, there are a lot of commonalities that
exist between the person–centered and Gestalt theories those that stem from a similar existential
base (Larsson, 2006). This work will explore major assumptions of the two theories, compare and
contrast views and assessments of the normal and abnormal behavior between the two theories; it
will further look into how behavior change is facilitated between the two theories. The work will
also explore various technologies used between the two theories; it will also highlight the strengths
and shortcomings between the two theories.
1. These theories function based on fundamental assumptions.
Person–centered theory is founded on the following assumptions; it is founded on the notion that
every individual has the capability for self–actualization. That is; the influential tendency where
every matter, whether organic or inorganic, advances from simpler nature to more comprehensive
forms and actualizing tendency where the predisposition within every humans (both animals and
plants) to incline toward full completion and or fulfillment of their potentials; wholeness. Some of
these predispositions exist to offer maintenance whereas others are meant for enhancement.

Explain How Patiento Supports Multiprograming
Patiento supports multiprogramming. This supports the multiuser that replacesthe disadvantage of
assembly language or any other mnemonic coding language. This has a set object, string and graphic
functions. Patiento supports both compilation and interpretation. There variable that specified
outside the class are called a global variables. These variables can be accessed from anywhere of the
programming whenever there is need. Declarations: The declarations of the variable provide a
specified storage that the programs can compute. The variables are declared has particular type
which defines the size, length and structure of the variable in the memory and the operations that
can be performedon the variable. Before using the variables it must

Creating Variables Into A Created Scene Essay
1.0 Introduction. This report discusses the task of creating variables into a created scene in the
aforementioned Alice program. As previously mentioned, particular attention to good Human–
Computer Interaction and usability was sustained throughout this period of development. Taking
usability into great measure; enabling the user to engage and interact with the animation and
foremost to ensure repetitive usage of the program for their enjoyment occurred. This report
documents the planning and construction of the variable methods, the chosen character in my
animation uses in this particular programme, through to completion. During the completion process,
to increase usability I critically analysed my programme, debugged it and solved any problems it
had. On completion I decided to allow one of my peers to use and give an individual report on said
animation, this is truthful to my knowledge. 2.0Method Whilst creating a new area in programming
to my project, keeping the user in mind, I decided to keep to keep the scene and the characters
moderately the same; barre from the front man of the dancers. I visually made him stand out more as
to ascertain to the user that this particular character would be the only animated character in this
particular scene; this being adultPerson4. This enables the user to notwithstanding have the familiar
comforting and inviting elements of their previous visit, moreover, to accommodate familiarity,
clarity and good usability. The animation

The Psychology Of Gestalt Therapy Essay
Psychology is not only fascinating or extraordinary, it has opened concepts greater than human
understanding. Beginning in 1897, the human mind has been under heavy study, and through the
invention of Gestalt therapy, it has helped tremendously. Fritz Perls, the founder of Gestalt therapy,
although deceased his presents is felt everyday through Gestalt therapy. Gestalt therapy has training
for anyone who might be interested into going into its practice.
There are many facilities around the world that specialize in the training of the practice of Gestalt
therapy. Among these facilities are The Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia, The Gestalt
Therapy Institute of New Zealand, and The Irish Gestalt Center. Some universities offer post–
graduate programs for Gestalt therapy, and usually take about two years, or 130 hours. Psychologist
and advanced practice along with other fields of study receive training in Gestalt therapy.
An Irish Gestalt therapist by the name of Sean Gaffney explored the concepts of Gestalt therapy
through groups. He classified three dimension groups through his research. These dimensions were
individualism, familyism, and collectivism. Individualism is self–defined, and is generally seen in
countries such as the United States, Great Britain, and Europe. Familyism focused on the concept of
family, it is commonly seen through the Jewish and Arab cultures. Last but not least is collectivism.
Japan and Korea are areas were collectivism is often found, and

Perl Rosenthal's Analysis
Of this week's readings, Perl Rosenthal's readings particularly enwrapped me. The close connection
between locality and the maritime economy was something I never knew before. The reading
discuss how, most sailors on ships during this period in time were required to be entirely
contunryman of the authorizing nation. Even further, most of the men working on these ships were
close friends and family, all generally from the same neighborhood within the city within the
country they were from. I feel this homogeneity could either be a notable benefit or notable disabler
for the crews. All the men knowing each other before they set sail could definitely decrease on the
instances of homesickness and loneliness. The familiarity could also have inherent benefits, as all
these men probably trusted each other to do their job and knew ... Show more content on

I know I personally love my family and friends, but I don't think we would work together great,
especially in the high stakes and trying reality of an eighteenth century ship. All the men knowing
each other also men's they take their established opinions and difficulties with them on the ship.
These men were on long journeys, trapped alone together at sea, tensions will inevitably start to rise.
If these men know each other, their attacks can be all that more person and cruel towards one
another. These men all being from one place though, as Rosenthal points out, created a sort of
nationalism before the concept had officially arrived. Yes these men were from one neighborhood,
but they went off to distant parts of the world to represent the monarch. As such they couldn't be
identified as, "men from this neighborhood in this town in this country," they simply were
"Englishman", or "Spaniards". Sailors were the first men to experience nationality in the modern
sense. The vast maritime economy that developed in the seventh century, made the world larger, and
thus individual's identifiers had to grow as

Fritz Perls's Use of Gestalt Therapy: a Review
Gestalt is a fascinating approach to therapy with many unique techniques, interventions and goals
that set it apart from other approaches. "Self–acceptance, knowledge of the environment,
responsibility for choices, and the ability to make contact...are important awareness processes and
goals, all of which are based on a here–and–now experiencing that is always changing" (Corey,
2009, p. 200).
Fritz Perls demonstrates his Gestalt therapy style in Three Approaches to Psychotherapy: A Film
Series (1975). Though this film has made a significant impact in the field of psychological
education, many simply remember Fritz Perls as a brash and cocky showman. This is unfortunate as
he has left very meaningful contributions to the field of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At yet another point, as he points out to Gloria, many of his statements have a neutral charge but are
given a negative charge through Gloria's transferential perception. For example, Perls asks Gloria
what her foot was doing and Gloria perceives it as a negative judgment on Perls's part and a demand
that she explain why she is wiggling her foot. As perls explains to Gloria "That is the Fritz of your
imagination" (1975). This interaction between the therapist and client led to a significant
intervention. When Perls asks Gloria what her foot is doing she laughs quite a bit and says that she's
afraid that he's going to notice everything that she does. Perls intervenes by pointing out that Gloria
is laughing (which is incongruent with what she is saying and feeling). These and many other
behaviors lead Perls to confront Gloria by calling her a phony. It is at this point that Gloria expresses
her feelings in a genuine way. She expresses verbally that she is angry and she behaves as though
she is angry. This is the first time during the session that her affect is congruent with her mood. This
is a perfect example of what Corey meant when he wrote "[Perls] was a master at intentionally
frustrating clients to enhance their awareness (2009, p. 200). This was Perls's way of reaching for
feelings. He is almost pushing Gloria into contact with her real feelings. He provokes her anger in
the here–and–now and as a result she has an opportunity to

Pt2520 Week 1 Critical Thinking Assignment
System Level Scripting #2 This week's critical thinking assignment explores the system–level
scripting functionality of the Linux operating system. Documenting each step in the assignment will
demonstrate how to use the awk and sed commands to display different sets of data from and file
based on the commands used. The sed command will also be used to change the data within the test
file. These steps will be discussed and illustrated with screenshots in the following paper. awk and
sed
After opening the shell prompt and logging in as the root user which is demonstrated in the first two
screenshots below, the next involved checking the current directory location in the shell prompt. As
seen from the second screenshot, the current directory is the /home/user directory which is the home
directory for the user created in the test installation of Linux I am using. Step three in the
assignment involves using the man command to view the documentation for the awk and sed
commands. The awk command had quite extensive documentation of over 800 lines while the sed
command had almost 300. These commands can perform a wide variety of tasks which make them
very useful tools when writing scripts.

Persuasive Essay On Planet Money Experiment

were in the seventh grade, variation of candy, and questions. The first thing that was done was
sharing the candy. The cast of Planet Money went into a classroom and started passing out candy
randomly. Some children got newton bars while others might had gotten a three musketeer. Once
they got a candy the children didn't seem as ecstatic as someone should be if they received candy, in
other words they look at the candy bewilderedly. In this experiment they had ten different kinds of

Methods Of Selection Statements: Böhm And Jacopini
Selection Statements
A selection statement offers the methods of selecting among two or more execution paths within a
program. These statements are basic and essential parts of all languages, as proven by Böhm and
Jacopini.
The two basic categories of selection statements are:
Two–way selectors (if–statement) o Design Issues o Control Expression o Clause Form o Nesting
Selectors o Selector Expressions
Multiple–way selectors (case–statement) o Design Issues o Examples of Multiple Selectors o
Implementing Multiple Selection Structures o Multiple Selection Using if

Another coded conditional branches is to place the case values and labels in a table. And also, use a
linear search by a loop to find the exact label. It needs a less space better than the coded
conditionals.
Multiple Selection Using if
In multiple situations, a switch or case statement is very poor for many selection. For example, once
selections should be complete on the beginning of a Boolean expression rather than certain ordinal
type, nested two–way selectors might be used to pretend a multiple selector. To ease the poor
readability of nested two–way selectors, few languages, like Perl and Python, have been prolonged
for particular use. The extension accepts some of the words to be left out. In specific, else–if
sequences are changed with one special word, and the ending with special word on the nested when
it is dropped. The nested selector is called an else–if clause.
Let us consider the Python selector statement if count < 20 : bag1 = True elif count < 200 : bag2 =
True elif count < 2000 : bag3 = True
Note: else–if is written as elif in Python language
The equivalent Python selector statement is if count < 20 : bag1 = True else : if count < 200 : bag2 =
True else : if count < 2000 : bag3 =

A Research Study On Global Variables
Above you see an extract from the log in page, showing the heavy dependence on $_SESSION
variables. These are required so much because they allow other pages to access the data. If I just
used local variables I'd have no ability to transfer data between pages, and this is necessary to keep
track of things like who is logged in or if even anyone is logged in. All SQL queries come back as
associative arrays too, with each column entry being an element in the array, so they are very
prominent.
There are many algorithms implemented in this project throughout to do various things, from
checking passwords securely to generating tables for the admin. I will analyse some of these at a
later point.
Programming Techniques
Global Variables
Usually, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more difficult questions require more time since they are harder and will take longer. The time
setting adjusts the time defined by the difficulty slightly.
You can see what the one and two letter codes mean by looking at the getqcode function on page 4.
Parameter passing
A good example of parameter passing by reference is with the SQL queries, particularly the
connection and result. Consider the following:
$con2 is a connection variable that provides access to the MySQL database. This is therefore clearly
passed by reference as well as $r, the result since they can have their contents modified by a
function and then be used afterwards. On the other hand, in the example above (get_time), the
variables $time and $diff are passed by value. They are disconnected from the original when they
get passed, changes to them will not affect the original.
Programming practice
One of the most important things in programming is readability and code style in general. It is good
if your code runs efficiently and correctly but if anything ever goes wrong with it, it will be a
nightmare to deal with if the code isn't formatted or named correctly. I have therefore tried to give
all variables meaningful names so that if I ever look back over the code or make changes, I will
know what each bit does. Commenting is also quite important. An algorithm you understood when
programming it may end up just looking

Core Concepts from TA and Gestalt
"The paradox is that, while a concern with past and future is obviously central to psychological
functioning, to behave as though one were indeed in the past or future, as many do, pollutes the
lively possibilities of existence." ― Erving Polster, Gestalt Therapy Integrated: Contours of Theory
& Practice. "Accomodation to parental needs often (but not always) leads to an as–if personality.
This person develops in such a way that he reveals only what is expected of him and fuses so
completely with what he reveals that one could scarcely guess how much more there is to him
behind the false self". Miller, A (1997) The Drama of Being a Child, Virago, London.
Inrojections and Polarities are similar to Life Scripts and Injuctions in TA theory. Introjects are often
codes "swallowed whole" that may have come from our family or society. For example, after
twenty–three personal therapy sessions, I had to challenge myself to explore in body work what
parts of myself I would like to be deleted. I wanted to delete my emotional fragility. I started
breathing, voicing and gestering happy sounds and words. I then drew an image of a dark cloud with
white words "Let Go". The relief of my image contained all my pain of my emotional fragitlity.
Energy taken up in reserving fighting mechanisms against the pain of blocked care. "When we are in
full contact change is inevitable." (Ervin Polster, Gestalt, Therapy Integrated)
Polarities are if something exists then the opposite must also

Types Of Conbols And Definition
C CONSTANTS
These are also known as literals and are defined as the fixed values. This means they cannot be
altered. They may be floating type, integer type, character type etc. It may also be defined as

Psychology : Fritz And Laura Perls
answers will not be adequate to answer these questions.
1. Who is/are the founder(s) and/or major contributor(s) to this theory?
2. The main Gestalt contributors that comes to mind for most people is Fritz and Laura Perls. Both
Fritz and Laura were born in Germany. Fritz Perls was a psychotherapist and psychiatrist and Laura
Perls was a psychotherapist and psychologist. They believed therapy should be actively experienced
in contrast to the more one–dimensional traditional talk therapy. They emphasized the importance of
becoming aware of what the mind is doing and how it is doing it. For the therapy session to be
beneficial the client and therapist needs to be authentically committed to being fully engaged in the
time spent in the therapy session. Fritz is known for his more confrontational approach to therapy.
His process towards the client/therapist relationship took on an irritating and chafing experience for
the client. Laura on the other hand, felt the Gestalt form of therapy should be approached in a more
humane, non–judgmental and non–offensive manner. She also stressed that the therapeutic processes
are varied and many and not as consequential as the therapists themselves. Others agreed with Laura
and followed suit with the establishment of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland.
3. Erving Polster is a psychologist; author and instructor who helped popularize Gestalt therapy. He
became aware of Gestalt therapy in the 1950's when he participated in a workshop along

Regular Expression Of A Web App
Regular Expression To FSM– Web App
3.1 Algorithm
3.1.1 Regular Expression Parsing
I built my own parser which will suit the recursive nature of my regular expression to Finite State
Machine Algorithm. To parse the regular expression, first, the expression is converted from infix to
prefix form. To convert from prefix to infix form, the string is read from the back and on meeting an
operator, it is pushed to an operator stack if top of operator stack has lower precedence than the read
operator else pop it to append to front of output string. If an operand is met, simply append it to
beginning of the output string.
After converting the expression to prefix, second step is to construct expression tree where each
inner node including root node has operator as its value and the leaf nodes are operands. The entire
infix string is read from the end. If the character is an operand it is pushed to the operand stack else
if an operator is read, operands are popped from the operand stack and assigned as left and right
child of node with having the operator as the node value and pushed again into the stack. Since the
backward construction algorithm is recursive in nature, such a syntax tree makes it more suitable for
the algorithm where expression will be taken as input.
3.1.2 Regular Expression To FSM– Backward Construction
After converting input expression to prefix and constructing expression tree, next steps is to
implement the Backward Construction algorithm for

Gestalt Concepts Of Self Regulation And Intrinsic...
According to Laura Perls, "Gestalt is experiential and experimental." (Perls, 1992,51). Gestalt
Model focuses on reverent hospitality. The Gestalt therapy concept of growth encompasses the
ability of the organism to co–create a place where organismic needs and the resources for life
converge to provide a place of human habitation. By invoking a place of habitation and
rehabilitation, Gestalt therapy offers more than mere cure and focuses on complete healing.
Rehabilitation pertains to a place of belonging and a place to inhabit that represents home to each of
us. This process of journeying and dwelling is essential. It focuses on the transpersonal and spiritual
interiority of the person. Gestalt therapy started when Perls, Hefferline, and Goodman published
Gestalt Therapy: Excitement and Growth in the Human Personality in 1951 (Levine, 2010). Gestalt
Model considers the interrelation between personal and social factors as well as cultural and
individual aspects. I think that we need to enlarge the concepts of organismic self–regulation and
intrinsic evaluation. This method helps people to become more aware of both their connection and
interrelation with broader systems and its intrinsic power to help transform them.
The one corner stone I chose: The Power of Awareness It was believed that contact/change moves
through eight stages: the emergence of need; the attempt to play out the need; the mobilization of the
internal struggle; statement of theme incorporating the need

The Emergence Of Gestalt Therapy In The 1940's
All great therapies start out with one person or group of people who become discontent with the
status quo, and avidly work to prove that what is widely accepted as the only way to accomplish
things, may not at all be what is necessary in all circumstances. In the early 1930's and 1940's
psychoanalysis was the rage, anyone in the field of psychology who did not ascribe to this style of
psychology was a deviant, and in all likelihood would be shun from the psychological community.
Additionally, this was a time period globally where many Jews in Europe were seeking to escape
from the hands of Hitler, and the Second World War was being fought. Precisely from this
background comes the birth of Gestalt Therapy. This paper will explore the emergence, ... Show

Some of the principles of this theory involved holism, field theory, figure formation process,
organismic self–regulation, the now, unfinished business, contact and resistances to contact, and
energy and blocks to energy. Additionally, this therapy introduced novel therapeutic interventions
such internal dialogue exercises like the empty chair technique that aims at getting the individual to
externalize what they have introjected, making the rounds that allows individuals in a group setting
to go around and speak to different people, the reversal exercise which asks the person to act in a
way that is contrary to their usual style of behaving, the rehearsal exercise, exaggeration exercise,
and staying with the feeling, as well as its approach to dreams. The majority of Gestalt therapy
interventions are derived from the performance arts (Corey,

In an ever–growing sea of bioinformatic data, Perl, among others has addressed a way of divulging,
searching and storing to stay afloat. This huge amount of basic biological data is handled to make
data readily available to perform statistical analyses and to share data with other users worldwide. It

This meeting between computer scientists of both European and America's largest DNA sequencing
centres using almost identical laboratory techniques, databases and data analysis tools found that no
interchangeable data could be achieved to meaningfully compare results. The solution was an
informatic core, providing computer support and data basing services for affiliated laboratories.
Additionally, it provided developed data analysis and management software for use by the genome
community. A simple Perl – based data exchange format was formed in partnership with this core to
allow loosely coupled programs to attach to a pipe – based I/O stream and use tag/value pairs to
easily reach into an input stream, pull out tags of interest, manipulate them and then drop new tags
into the output stream. Tags that weren't of interest were passed through a standard input so that
other programs in the pipeline could reach them. With interchanging data, a common data exchange
format was created to contain a superset of data that each analysis and editing tools needed. Two
Perl scripts were made for each module and were responsible for converting formats which
simplified the programming and maintenance of tasks considerably. Stein (1996) advocates that 'Perl
was used as the glue that made the pieces of software fit together, between pairs of interacting

Gloria Clors And Gestalt Therapy
In the Gloria tapes, there were three different types of therapy sessions presented in each tape. The
three types of sessions were Person Centered Therapy represented by Carl Rogers, Rational Therapy
also known as Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy represented by Albert Ellis, and Gestalt
Therapy represented by Fritz Perls. The sessions were given to the same women named Gloria that
presented a different problem each time. The goal of experiencing each type of therapy session was
to figure out what therapy style out of the three best helped Gloria.
The first therapy style Gloria was introduced to was Person Centered Therapy and the therapist was
Carl Rogers. Viewing Rogers at my own viewpoint, for the time period, he seems unbelievable. ...

The kind of therapy was very much less confrontational when compared to Gestalt Therapy as well
as a lot more talking. Ellis guided the conversation more and tended to ask questions that involve
her expressing herself less compared to the other two kinds of therapies. My first impression of this
kind of therapy was very negative, for some reason I believed that it was not quite beneficial for
Gloria, however, when I watched it a second time, I realized that my interpretation was different and
that this therapy and the advice from the therapist was actually benefit Gloria. The connection
between the two seemed to start off quick because Gloria was actually a fan of his book but really
seemed to firm was when Ellis brought up the mangled arm it really seemed like they were on the
same level. I believe that this session overall helped Gloria thinking more and caused her to take
more actions especially because of the homework assignment that Ellis said he would give her if she
was his client. What really shown me that the session was beneficial for Gloria was when Ellis said
"assume the worse". When Ellis said this, Gloria pulled out a cigarette which to me says that his
words are getting to her and making her think because I have noticed that she seems to smoke when
she feels nervous or pressured and needs to calm down. Thus, this means that she is trying to think

Comparing Theories Of Counselling From Psychodynamic,...
Introduction
The aim of this assignment is to compare and contrast two theories or theorists of counselling from
psychodynamic, humanistic or cognitive behavioural traditions and also to assess their strengths and
weaknesses. This essay will focus on exploring the contrasting ideas and approaches of Carl Rogers
who is a key figure associated with the person–centered approach and Fritz Perls who developed
Gestalt therapy. Although they are both regarded as humanistic counsellors, they share a very
different approach when working with clients. I have chosen to analyse these two theorists because
of their contrasting styles, in particular my curiosity was sparked after viewing both Perls and
Rogers sessions with Gloria. I found it fascinating how such different styles could still be successful
in therapy. In particular fritz perls style really grabbed my attention as at first, I was really put off by
his seemingly rude demeanour. However, after reading information on gestalt therapy and the ideas
behind it I started to understand how it works.
This essay will begin with a short background on Carl Rogers and Fritz Perls and an overview of the
beginnings of their approaches to counselling followed by a discussion on their views on the theory
of personality and problems in living then a discussion on Rogers and Perls theory of change. I will
then give a personal evaluation on each theorist's strengths and weaknesses and include which
approach would be the most beneficial for

Force Lab Results
During this lab, my partner and I had to figure out what our variables were in order to start the tests.
Our independent variables were mass, surface area, height, and the force applied. Our dependent
variable was the amount of time it took the object took to reach the ground. Lastly, our control
variables were the type of object, height, planet, force, temperature, and air resistance. We then
began our experiment by gathering all our materials for each factor that was being tested. We did our
tests several times to get an accurate answer. For some of the tests, we could not figure out which
object hit the ground first, so we used an app that recorded the object falling. The app slowed the
video down, so that we could see which object fell first. We then recorded our results on a piece of
paper. The purpose of this lab was to test the different factors that affected a falling object. The
factors that were being tested were mass, surface area, height and force applied. We achieved this
purpose by doing all of the different tests successfully. I learned that the heavier an object or the
more force you apply, that is how much faster the object drops to the ground. I also learned the
smaller the height of an object or the lesser the surface area, that is how much faster the object drops
to the ground. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

occurred during this experiment was figuring out what objects would fit the criteria for the certain
factors that were being tested. We overcame this problem by choosing two objects and visually

Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Room
Before you make an entrance into my room you first need to walk up three flights of stairs it may
look easy, but don't be fooled. "Click" as you turn the key to the right. Afterwards apply pressure to
the handle downwards, then push to open. When entered in my apartment a cool breeze of cold air
instantly hits your body and the smell of Hawaiian breeze scent from glade lingers in the room.
Then a small tile in front of the door is where I take off my shoes. As you continue to walk forward
your toes feel the rug of my room which is twelve by sixteen square feet a lot of my thinking and
time is spend here alone or with friends and family, but it is certainly my favorite room in my
apartment. This room matters to me because it is the first room you see before you see the other
rooms. It also shows a little part of me as you look around the room from the dreams I wish to travel
one day to the time I took to coordination the colors together and the hard work I put to manage to
save enough money to get the furniture and decorations this room is once again my favorite room.
The first object you will encounter with would be the object that is set by the entrance door. This
object is used to study and to concentrate on my class work. The object is rectangle shape and the
shade of the wood is classic cherry dark brown. The object is held by four legs that has a leafy

Design And Implementation Of Select Java Concepts
Nathali Santana
CSC 401 Programming Languages
Assignment 4
11/16/2014
Design and Implementation of Select Java concepts There are many concepts in the design and
implementation of the Java programming language. Six of the many concepts are the final reserved
word, permanent generation in the Java Virtual Machine, the functions of the intern() class, dynamic
scoping using shallow access, dynamic scoping using deep access and the implementation of the
concept of passing a method as a parameter in Java. These concepts have various effects on Java
programming. From improving performance of a program to preventing variable value changing,
these six concepts are all helpful in their own way to the Java programming language. Along with
the implementation of these concepts in Java, similar concepts in other programming languages will
also be looked at.
In Java, there is a reserved word called "final." In general, the "final" reserved word serves as a way
to prevent changing the contents of a Java entity. Fox example, assigning a variable as "final double
x = 10.2;" means that this variable will not be allowed to change its value later on in the program
because it has already been assigned a value. Alternatively, a final variable can be declared without
initialization and can be given a value later. This assignment can only be done once and must be
assigned by the time the program has exited the constructor. The use of final is not only for
variables. Final can also be used when

Gisella Perl Research Paper
As a part of the plan to make the world " a better place " through the Aryan race, the Nazis did not
care for pregnant Jewish women. Dr. Gisella Perl was a Hungarian gynecologist during the time, and
was both an inmate and the head women's doctor for Auschwitz. She learned early on that the
biggest crime in Auschwitz was being pregnant. Her job in the camp was definitely a haunting
experience. She knew she could save hundreds of women if she could prevent them from giving
birth. Gisella Perl was a very academic girl, showing her promise at a young age. At the age of 16,
she was already the only woman –– and the only Jewish person –– to graduate from secondary
school. Gisella had great academic dreams, and had gone to her father requesting ... Show more

immediately start abortions and terminate pregnancies in the middle of the night with her bare hands
( without any tools, anesthesia, bandages or antibiotics ) on the dirty floors and bunks of the
building. Sometimes, a woman would get to the final stages of her pregnancy with the SS officers or
even Dr. Perl knowing. When requested, Dr. Perl would perform the birth, and then silently take the
breath away from the newborn babies to save the mothers. Towards the end of the war, there were a
few cases were the mother would give birth to the baby unnoticed, often because the Germans were
preoccupied with the Allies closing in. Apart from the surgeries performed on the pregnant women,
Dr. Perl also tended to the wounds the SS gave women's breasts with their beatings and whips. She
also treated and helped other women in the night for other conditions. She did this because she felt
helpless without any tools and medicine. She wrote her autobiography, "I Was a Doctor in

Introduction
Fritz Perls, along with Laura Perls and Paul Goodman, developed Gestalt therapy in the 1940's
(Spillman & Rosen, 2014, p. 202). Fritz Perls was born into a Jewish family, but never fully
identified with his Jewish heritage. In Gestalt Therapy: Excitement and growth in the human
personality, Fritz Perls promotes the "Gestalt way of life", which is when individuals become more
aware of themselves and their needs rather than to allow external forces to dictate how they live
their life (Perls, 1971). In other words, Gestalt therapy's model could best be summarized by the "I
do my thing, and you do your thing. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations and you
are not in this world to live up to mine" motto (Spillman & Rosen, 2014, p. 203).
Basic Characteristics and Assumptions
In order for the Gestalt therapist to be well grounded and remain ethical, they must run the therapy
by using self–awareness, acceptance, authenticity, and the here and now and being present (Spillman
& Rosen, 2014, p. 204–205). Gestalt therapy focuses on all aspects of an individual and is able to do
so through dialogue. Dialogue is an essential part of Gestalt theory, therefore Gestalt therapists
emphasizes the importance of the relationship between the therapist and the client (Yontef, 1993, p.
127). As previously mentioned, one characteristic that sets Gestalt therapy from other therapies is
Gestalt Dialogue.
Four Characteristics of Gestalt Dialogue
There are four dialogue

Personal Narrative Reflection
My third visit to Mrs. Casanova's class has thus far been my most productive, in terms of applying
something I have learned both from this class and UCF in general. With the end of the middle of the
second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative assignments. During my
visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a PLC and participate in the
creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to spend time with in the
classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with service learning. Both
teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying information, with Mrs.
Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within the PLC the test
questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions for AP, honors,
and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions being more
challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important, especially for the
upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular. Beyond this however,
the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions were made with AP in
mind. According to the book, content evidence connects to state standards and what the students
need to know based off this, which should be reflected within the instruction (pg. 396).
One thing UCF does a great job of is

The Five Inch Case-It Binder

  • 1. The Five Inch Case-It Binder Have you ever paid more attention to your binder? Does it break all the time? Well, that always happened to me, with all of my papers falling out and the rings breaking. But now, I use the five inch Case–It binder. The five inch Case–It binder is good because it can hold a lot of materials that you need, and I don't need to use a backpack. First of all, I can fit so many things into my binder and the rings are five inches long, making a lot of space to put my papers. Also, there is a file in my binder, so I can store all of my supplies, books, and even more papers. There is a lot of materials in my binder that can fall out, but this binder is zippable, so none of your supplies or papers will fall out. Zipping the binder is all you need ... • 3. Theory of Gestalt Therapy Theory of Gestalt Therapy "What is Gestalt Therapy?" This is a question that has divided therapists for decades. Although Gestalt Therapy is based on a set of techniques, it is ultimately the therapist own defined style that makes it unique – from the theatrical techniques of Fritz Perls to the one–on–one approach of Jim Simken. According to G.M. Yontef (Awareness, Dialogue and Process Pg 203), Gestalt Therapy is: 1. a bringing about of awareness 2. it is based on the I and Thou contact withdrawal process 3. its world view is based on holism and field theory Each and every one of us seeks to make sense of life's events, and as such a considerable amount of time is spent in trying to analyse and explain these events. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Premature closure feels better that leaving it open, but since the need is still unmet, it will continue to demand attention. The result is a fixation on the part of the individual to resolve his 'unfinished business'. Another aspect of contact is that contact itself is but the highlight of a 'contact withdrawal cycle', i.e. a cycle that occurs and reoccurs. Habitually, the therapist backs off and comes back again, listening quietly without straining to figure everything out; information is given in a calm but impersonal manner. It is important that the session itself develops a natural rhythm. Meaningful contact cannot be attained or attempted every second. The client also needs to work hard to attain contact, and if there is a pattern of inequality then it is best to change it. If the therapist is doing all the work, than the client's needs may not be met or the therapist may be feeding into their desire to be spoon–fed. If on the other hand the client is doing much more of the work, then the therapist may need to loosen up and give more of himself. Sometimes, the therapist may need to have the client be still and quiet so that he can do the work. The client – therapist relationship is an important part of Gestalt Therapy. This "I – Thou" relationship is a contact between two genuine people rather ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Carl Rogers And Fritz Perls Carl Rogers and Fritz Perls played important roles in the field of psychology. They modeled two great theories that are still used in the current psychology and counseling sessions. Even though Rogers and Perls are certainly two very extreme personalities, there are a lot of commonalities that exist between the person–centered and Gestalt theories those that stem from a similar existential base (Larsson, 2006). This work will explore major assumptions of the two theories, compare and contrast views and assessments of the normal and abnormal behavior between the two theories; it will further look into how behavior change is facilitated between the two theories. The work will also explore various technologies used between the two theories; it will also highlight the strengths and shortcomings between the two theories. 1. These theories function based on fundamental assumptions. Person–centered theory is founded on the following assumptions; it is founded on the notion that every individual has the capability for self–actualization. That is; the influential tendency where every matter, whether organic or inorganic, advances from simpler nature to more comprehensive forms and actualizing tendency where the predisposition within every humans (both animals and plants) to incline toward full completion and or fulfillment of their potentials; wholeness. Some of these predispositions exist to offer maintenance whereas others are meant for enhancement. Occasionally, human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As previously mentioned, particular attention to good Human– Computer Interaction and usability was sustained throughout this period of development. Taking usability into great measure; enabling the user to engage and interact with the animation and foremost to ensure repetitive usage of the program for their enjoyment occurred. This report documents the planning and construction of the variable methods, the chosen character in my animation uses in this particular programme, through to completion. During the completion process, to increase usability I critically analysed my programme, debugged it and solved any problems it had. On completion I decided to allow one of my peers to use and give an individual report on said animation, this is truthful to my knowledge. 2.0Method Whilst creating a new area in programming to my project, keeping the user in mind, I decided to keep to keep the scene and the characters moderately the same; barre from the front man of the dancers. I visually made him stand out more as to ascertain to the user that this particular character would be the only animated character in this particular scene; this being adultPerson4. • 11. The Psychology Of Gestalt Therapy Essay Psychology is not only fascinating or extraordinary, it has opened concepts greater than human understanding. Beginning in 1897, the human mind has been under heavy study, and through the invention of Gestalt therapy, it has helped tremendously. Fritz Perls, the founder of Gestalt therapy, although deceased his presents is felt everyday through Gestalt therapy. Gestalt therapy has training for anyone who might be interested into going into its practice. There are many facilities around the world that specialize in the training of the practice of Gestalt therapy. Among these facilities are The Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia, The Gestalt Therapy Institute of New Zealand, and The Irish Gestalt Center. Some universities offer post– graduate programs for Gestalt therapy, and usually take about two years, or 130 hours. Psychologist and advanced practice along with other fields of study receive training in Gestalt therapy. An Irish Gestalt therapist by the name of Sean Gaffney explored the concepts of Gestalt therapy through groups. He classified three dimension groups through his research. These dimensions were individualism, familyism, and collectivism. Individualism is self–defined, and is generally seen in countries such as the United States, Great Britain, and Europe. Familyism focused on the concept of family, it is commonly seen through the Jewish and Arab cultures. Last but not least is collectivism. • 16. Perl Rosenthal's Analysis Of this week's readings, Perl Rosenthal's readings particularly enwrapped me. The close connection between locality and the maritime economy was something I never knew before. The reading discuss how, most sailors on ships during this period in time were required to be entirely contunryman of the authorizing nation. Even further, most of the men working on these ships were close friends and family, all generally from the same neighborhood within the city within the country they were from. I feel this homogeneity could either be a notable benefit or notable disabler for the crews. All the men knowing each other before they set sail could definitely decrease on the instances of homesickness and loneliness. The familiarity could also have inherent benefits, as all these men probably trusted each other to do their job and knew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These men were on long journeys, trapped alone together at sea, tensions will inevitably start to rise. If these men know each other, their attacks can be all that more person and cruel towards one another. These men all being from one place though, as Rosenthal points out, created a sort of nationalism before the concept had officially arrived. Yes these men were from one neighborhood, but they went off to distant parts of the world to represent the monarch. As such they couldn't be identified as, "men from this neighborhood in this town in this country," they simply were "Englishman", or "Spaniards". Sailors were the first men to experience nationality in the modern sense. • 18. Fritz Perls's Use of Gestalt Therapy: a Review Gestalt is a fascinating approach to therapy with many unique techniques, interventions and goals that set it apart from other approaches. "Self–acceptance, knowledge of the environment, responsibility for choices, and the ability to make contact...are important awareness processes and goals, all of which are based on a here–and–now experiencing that is always changing" (Corey, 2009, p. 200). Fritz Perls demonstrates his Gestalt therapy style in Three Approaches to Psychotherapy: A Film Series (1975). Though this film has made a significant impact in the field of psychological education, many simply remember Fritz Perls as a brash and cocky showman. This is unfortunate as he has left very meaningful contributions to the field of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At yet another point, as he points out to Gloria, many of his statements have a neutral charge but are given a negative charge through Gloria's transferential perception. For example, Perls asks Gloria what her foot was doing and Gloria perceives it as a negative judgment on Perls's part and a demand that she explain why she is wiggling her foot. As perls explains to Gloria "That is the Fritz of your imagination" (1975). This interaction between the therapist and client led to a significant intervention. When Perls asks Gloria what her foot is doing she laughs quite a bit and says that she's afraid that he's going to notice everything that she does. Perls intervenes by pointing out that Gloria is laughing (which is incongruent with what she is saying and feeling). These and many other behaviors lead Perls to confront Gloria by calling her a phony. It is at this point that Gloria expresses her feelings in a genuine way. She expresses verbally that she is angry and she behaves as though she is angry. This is the first time during the session that her affect is congruent with her mood. This is a perfect example of what Corey meant when he wrote "[Perls] was a master at intentionally frustrating clients to enhance their awareness (2009, p. 200). This was Perls's way of reaching for feelings. He is almost pushing Gloria into contact with her real feelings. He provokes her anger in the here–and–now and as a result she has an opportunity to ... Step three in the assignment involves using the man command to view the documentation for the awk and sed commands. The awk command had quite extensive documentation of over 800 lines while the sed command had almost 300. These commands can perform a wide variety of tasks which make them very useful tools when writing scripts. The next item in the assignment gave instructions on how to ... Persuasive Essay On Planet Money Experiment In this podcast Planet Money conducts an experiment to answer the question "Is there a way to make the holiday season both more efficient and more joyful?". The experiment consisted of children who were in the seventh grade, variation of candy, and questions. The first thing that was done was sharing the candy. The cast of Planet Money went into a classroom and started passing out candy randomly. Some children got newton bars while others might had gotten a three musketeer. Once they got a candy the children didn't seem as ecstatic as someone should be if they received candy, in other words they look at the candy bewilderedly. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another coded conditional branches is to place the case values and labels in a table. And also, use a linear search by a loop to find the exact label. It needs a less space better than the coded conditionals. Multiple Selection Using if In multiple situations, a switch or case statement is very poor for many selection. For example, once selections should be complete on the beginning of a Boolean expression rather than certain ordinal type, nested two–way selectors might be used to pretend a multiple selector. To ease the poor readability of nested two–way selectors, few languages, like Perl and Python, have been prolonged for particular use. The extension accepts some of the words to be left out. In specific, else–if sequences are changed with one special word, and the ending with special word on the nested when it is dropped. The nested selector is called an else–if clause. Let us consider the Python selector statement if count < 20 : bag1 = True elif count < 200 : bag2 = True elif count < 2000 : bag3 = True Note: else–if is written as elif in Python language The equivalent Python selector statement is if count < 20 : bag1 = True else : if count < 200 : bag2 = True else : if count < 2000 : bag3 = ... • 34. A Research Study On Global Variables Above you see an extract from the log in page, showing the heavy dependence on $_SESSION variables. These are required so much because they allow other pages to access the data. If I just used local variables I'd have no ability to transfer data between pages, and this is necessary to keep track of things like who is logged in or if even anyone is logged in. All SQL queries come back as associative arrays too, with each column entry being an element in the array, so they are very prominent. There are many algorithms implemented in this project throughout to do various things, from checking passwords securely to generating tables for the admin. I will analyse some of these at a later point. Programming Techniques Global Variables Usually, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The more difficult questions require more time since they are harder and will take longer. The time setting adjusts the time defined by the difficulty slightly. You can see what the one and two letter codes mean by looking at the getqcode function on page 4. Parameter passing A good example of parameter passing by reference is with the SQL queries, particularly the connection and result. Consider the following: $con2 is a connection variable that provides access to the MySQL database. This is therefore clearly passed by reference as well as $r, the result since they can have their contents modified by a function and then be used afterwards. On the other hand, in the example above (get_time), the variables $time and $diff are passed by value. They are disconnected from the original when they get passed, changes to them will not affect the original. Programming practice One of the most important things in programming is readability and code style in general. It is good if your code runs efficiently and correctly but if anything ever goes wrong with it, it will be a nightmare to deal with if the code isn't formatted or named correctly. I have therefore tried to give all variables meaningful names so that if I ever look back over the code or make changes, I will know what each bit does. Commenting is also quite important. • 39. Core Concepts from TA and Gestalt "The paradox is that, while a concern with past and future is obviously central to psychological functioning, to behave as though one were indeed in the past or future, as many do, pollutes the lively possibilities of existence." ― Erving Polster, Gestalt Therapy Integrated: Contours of Theory & Practice. "Accomodation to parental needs often (but not always) leads to an as–if personality. This person develops in such a way that he reveals only what is expected of him and fuses so completely with what he reveals that one could scarcely guess how much more there is to him behind the false self". Miller, A (1997) The Drama of Being a Child, Virago, London. Inrojections and Polarities are similar to Life Scripts and Injuctions in TA theory. Introjects are often codes "swallowed whole" that may have come from our family or society. For example, after twenty–three personal therapy sessions, I had to challenge myself to explore in body work what parts of myself I would like to be deleted. I wanted to delete my emotional fragility. I started breathing, voicing and gestering happy sounds and words. I then drew an image of a dark cloud with white words "Let Go". The relief of my image contained all my pain of my emotional fragitlity. Energy taken up in reserving fighting mechanisms against the pain of blocked care. The main Gestalt contributors that comes to mind for most people is Fritz and Laura Perls. Both Fritz and Laura were born in Germany. Fritz Perls was a psychotherapist and psychiatrist and Laura Perls was a psychotherapist and psychologist. They believed therapy should be actively experienced in contrast to the more one–dimensional traditional talk therapy. They emphasized the importance of becoming aware of what the mind is doing and how it is doing it. For the therapy session to be beneficial the client and therapist needs to be authentically committed to being fully engaged in the time spent in the therapy session. Fritz is known for his more confrontational approach to therapy. His process towards the client/therapist relationship took on an irritating and chafing experience for the client. Laura on the other hand, felt the Gestalt form of therapy should be approached in a more humane, non–judgmental and non–offensive manner. She also stressed that the therapeutic processes are varied and many and not as consequential as the therapists themselves. Others agreed with Laura and followed suit with the establishment of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland. 3. Erving Polster is a psychologist; author and instructor who helped popularize Gestalt therapy. He became aware of Gestalt therapy in the 1950's when he participated in a workshop along ... • 50. Regular Expression Of A Web App Regular Expression To FSM– Web App 3.1 Algorithm 3.1.1 Regular Expression Parsing I built my own parser which will suit the recursive nature of my regular expression to Finite State Machine Algorithm. To parse the regular expression, first, the expression is converted from infix to prefix form. To convert from prefix to infix form, the string is read from the back and on meeting an operator, it is pushed to an operator stack if top of operator stack has lower precedence than the read operator else pop it to append to front of output string. If an operand is met, simply append it to beginning of the output string. After converting the expression to prefix, second step is to construct expression tree where each inner node including root node has operator as its value and the leaf nodes are operands. The entire infix string is read from the end. If the character is an operand it is pushed to the operand stack else if an operator is read, operands are popped from the operand stack and assigned as left and right child of node with having the operator as the node value and pushed again into the stack. Since the backward construction algorithm is recursive in nature, such a syntax tree makes it more suitable for the algorithm where expression will be taken as input. 3.1.2 Regular Expression To FSM– Backward Construction After converting input expression to prefix and constructing expression tree, next steps is to implement the Backward Construction algorithm for ... • 52. Gestalt Concepts Of Self Regulation And Intrinsic... According to Laura Perls, "Gestalt is experiential and experimental." (Perls, 1992,51). Gestalt Model focuses on reverent hospitality. The Gestalt therapy concept of growth encompasses the ability of the organism to co–create a place where organismic needs and the resources for life converge to provide a place of human habitation. By invoking a place of habitation and rehabilitation, Gestalt therapy offers more than mere cure and focuses on complete healing. Rehabilitation pertains to a place of belonging and a place to inhabit that represents home to each of us. This process of journeying and dwelling is essential. It focuses on the transpersonal and spiritual interiority of the person. Gestalt therapy started when Perls, Hefferline, and Goodman published Gestalt Therapy: Excitement and Growth in the Human Personality in 1951 (Levine, 2010). Gestalt Model considers the interrelation between personal and social factors as well as cultural and individual aspects. I think that we need to enlarge the concepts of organismic self–regulation and intrinsic evaluation. This method helps people to become more aware of both their connection and interrelation with broader systems and its intrinsic power to help transform them. The one corner stone I chose: The Power of Awareness It was believed that contact/change moves through eight stages: the emergence of need; the attempt to play out the need; the mobilization of the internal struggle; statement of theme incorporating the need ... Additionally, it provided developed data analysis and management software for use by the genome community. A simple Perl – based data exchange format was formed in partnership with this core to allow loosely coupled programs to attach to a pipe – based I/O stream and use tag/value pairs to easily reach into an input stream, pull out tags of interest, manipulate them and then drop new tags into the output stream. Tags that weren't of interest were passed through a standard input so that other programs in the pipeline could reach them. With interchanging data, a common data exchange format was created to contain a superset of data that each analysis and editing tools needed. Two Perl scripts were made for each module and were responsible for converting formats which simplified the programming and maintenance of tasks considerably. Stein (1996) advocates that 'Perl was used as the glue that made the pieces of software fit together, between pairs of interacting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Such exclusion goes over "the very brink of constitutional power," and falls into the ugly abyss of racism." (Murphy,1944). This discrimination on just one race in the United States redundantly ... • 64. Gloria Clors And Gestalt Therapy In the Gloria tapes, there were three different types of therapy sessions presented in each tape. The three types of sessions were Person Centered Therapy represented by Carl Rogers, Rational Therapy also known as Rational Emotional Behavior Therapy represented by Albert Ellis, and Gestalt Therapy represented by Fritz Perls. The sessions were given to the same women named Gloria that presented a different problem each time. The goal of experiencing each type of therapy session was to figure out what therapy style out of the three best helped Gloria. The first therapy style Gloria was introduced to was Person Centered Therapy and the therapist was Carl Rogers. Viewing Rogers at my own viewpoint, for the time period, he seems unbelievable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The kind of therapy was very much less confrontational when compared to Gestalt Therapy as well as a lot more talking. Ellis guided the conversation more and tended to ask questions that involve her expressing herself less compared to the other two kinds of therapies. My first impression of this kind of therapy was very negative, for some reason I believed that it was not quite beneficial for Gloria, however, when I watched it a second time, I realized that my interpretation was different and that this therapy and the advice from the therapist was actually benefit Gloria. The connection between the two seemed to start off quick because Gloria was actually a fan of his book but really seemed to firm was when Ellis brought up the mangled arm it really seemed like they were on the same level. I believe that this session overall helped Gloria thinking more and caused her to take more actions especially because of the homework assignment that Ellis said he would give her if she was his client. What really shown me that the session was beneficial for Gloria was when Ellis said "assume the worse". When Ellis said this, Gloria pulled out a cigarette which to me says that his words are getting to her and making her think because I have noticed that she seems to smoke when she feels nervous or pressured and needs to calm down. Thus, this means that she is trying to think through Ellis's ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 66. Comparing Theories Of Counselling From Psychodynamic,... Introduction The aim of this assignment is to compare and contrast two theories or theorists of counselling from psychodynamic, humanistic or cognitive behavioural traditions and also to assess their strengths and weaknesses. This essay will focus on exploring the contrasting ideas and approaches of Carl Rogers who is a key figure associated with the person–centered approach and Fritz Perls who developed Gestalt therapy. Although they are both regarded as humanistic counsellors, they share a very different approach when working with clients. I have chosen to analyse these two theorists because of their contrasting styles, in particular my curiosity was sparked after viewing both Perls and Rogers sessions with Gloria. I found it fascinating how such different styles could still be successful in therapy. In particular fritz perls style really grabbed my attention as at first, I was really put off by his seemingly rude demeanour. However, after reading information on gestalt therapy and the ideas behind it I started to understand how it works. This essay will begin with a short background on Carl Rogers and Fritz Perls and an overview of the beginnings of their approaches to counselling followed by a discussion on their views on the theory of personality and problems in living then a discussion on Rogers and Perls theory of change. I will then give a personal evaluation on each theorist's strengths and weaknesses and include which approach would be the most beneficial for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 68. Force Lab Results During this lab, my partner and I had to figure out what our variables were in order to start the tests. Our independent variables were mass, surface area, height, and the force applied. Our dependent variable was the amount of time it took the object took to reach the ground. Lastly, our control variables were the type of object, height, planet, force, temperature, and air resistance. We then began our experiment by gathering all our materials for each factor that was being tested. We did our tests several times to get an accurate answer. For some of the tests, we could not figure out which object hit the ground first, so we used an app that recorded the object falling. The app slowed the video down, so that we could see which object fell first. We then recorded our results on a piece of paper. The purpose of this lab was to test the different factors that affected a falling object. The factors that were being tested were mass, surface area, height and force applied. We achieved this purpose by doing all of the different tests successfully. I learned that the heavier an object or the more force you apply, that is how much faster the object drops to the ground. I also learned the smaller the height of an object or the lesser the surface area, that is how much faster the object drops to the ground. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 78. Design And Implementation Of Select Java Concepts Nathali Santana CSC 401 Programming Languages Assignment 4 11/16/2014 Design and Implementation of Select Java concepts There are many concepts in the design and implementation of the Java programming language. Six of the many concepts are the final reserved word, permanent generation in the Java Virtual Machine, the functions of the intern() class, dynamic scoping using shallow access, dynamic scoping using deep access and the implementation of the concept of passing a method as a parameter in Java. These concepts have various effects on Java programming. From improving performance of a program to preventing variable value changing, these six concepts are all helpful in their own way to the Java programming language. Along with the implementation of these concepts in Java, similar concepts in other programming languages will also be looked at. In Java, there is a reserved word called "final." In general, the "final" reserved word serves as a way to prevent changing the contents of a Java entity. Fox example, assigning a variable as "final double x = 10.2;" means that this variable will not be allowed to change its value later on in the program because it has already been assigned a value. Alternatively, a final variable can be declared without initialization and can be given a value later. This assignment can only be done once and must be assigned by the time the program has exited the constructor. The use of final is not only for variables. Final can also be used when ... • 80. Gisella Perl Research Paper As a part of the plan to make the world " a better place " through the Aryan race, the Nazis did not care for pregnant Jewish women. Dr. Gisella Perl was a Hungarian gynecologist during the time, and was both an inmate and the head women's doctor for Auschwitz. She learned early on that the biggest crime in Auschwitz was being pregnant. Her job in the camp was definitely a haunting experience. She knew she could save hundreds of women if she could prevent them from giving birth. Gisella Perl was a very academic girl, showing her promise at a young age. At the age of 16, she was already the only woman –– and the only Jewish person –– to graduate from secondary school. Gisella had great academic dreams, and had gone to her father requesting ... She would immediately start abortions and terminate pregnancies in the middle of the night with her bare hands ( without any tools, anesthesia, bandages or antibiotics ) on the dirty floors and bunks of the building. Sometimes, a woman would get to the final stages of her pregnancy with the SS officers or even Dr. Perl knowing. When requested, Dr. Perl would perform the birth, and then silently take the breath away from the newborn babies to save the mothers. Towards the end of the war, there were a few cases were the mother would give birth to the baby unnoticed, often because the Germans were preoccupied with the Allies closing in. Apart from the surgeries performed on the pregnant women, Dr. Perl also tended to the wounds the SS gave women's breasts with their beatings and whips. She also treated and helped other women in the night for other conditions. She did this because she felt helpless without any tools and medicine. She wrote her autobiography, "I Was a Doctor in Auschwitz." • 82. Fritz Perls And Paul Goodman Introduction Fritz Perls, along with Laura Perls and Paul Goodman, developed Gestalt therapy in the 1940's (Spillman & Rosen, 2014, p. 202). Fritz Perls was born into a Jewish family, but never fully identified with his Jewish heritage. In Gestalt Therapy: Excitement and growth in the human personality, Fritz Perls promotes the "Gestalt way of life", which is when individuals become more aware of themselves and their needs rather than to allow external forces to dictate how they live their life (Perls, 1971). In other words, Gestalt therapy's model could best be summarized by the "I do my thing, and you do your thing. I am not in this world to live up to your expectations and you are not in this world to live up to mine" motto (Spillman & Rosen, 2014, p. 203). Basic Characteristics and Assumptions In order for the Gestalt therapist to be well grounded and remain ethical, they must run the therapy by using self–awareness, acceptance, authenticity, and the here and now and being present (Spillman & Rosen, 2014, p. 204–205). Gestalt therapy focuses on all aspects of an individual and is able to do so through dialogue. Dialogue is an essential part of Gestalt theory, therefore Gestalt therapists emphasizes the importance of the relationship between the therapist and the client (Yontef, 1993, p. 127). As previously mentioned, one characteristic that sets Gestalt therapy from other therapies is Gestalt Dialogue. Four Characteristics of Gestalt Dialogue There are four dialogue ... • 84. Personal Narrative Reflection My third visit to Mrs. Casanova's class has thus far been my most productive, in terms of applying something I have learned both from this class and UCF in general. With the end of the middle of the second nine weeks rapidly approaching so too are classroom summative assignments. During my visit on the twentieth I was able to both see the test creation process in a PLC and participate in the creation of some questions. Two of the three teacher I have been able to spend time with in the classroom, the first being in internship and the second, Mrs. Casanova with service learning. Both teachers employ direct instruction as their primary means of conveying information, with Mrs. Casanova using it more than the honors and AP teachers. However, within the PLC the test questions were being created for all classes, rather than having separate questions for AP, honors, and regular classes, with the only difference being the written response questions being more challenging in upper classes. Due to this, content evidence was very important, especially for the upper classes, as they technically would be getting the same test as a regular. Beyond this however, the instruction leading up to the test also had to be evaluated as the questions were made with AP in mind. According to the book, content evidence connects to state standards and what the students need to know based off this, which should be reflected within the instruction (pg. 396). One thing UCF does a great job of is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
