Callum Harrison created a 30-second TV advertisement for GiffGaff over the course of several weeks. He filmed footage on May 16th and 18th, then completed filming on May 20th. On May 23rd, Callum created the GiffGaff logo and text but decided not to use a spinning globe he had also created. By May 30th, he had the basic edit pieced together. On June 3rd and 6th, Callum added color effects and mixed/added the music soundtrack. The advertisement ended up being 40 seconds, so on June 13th Callum had to speed up the video and audio to fit the required 30 second time limit.

Date Action Taken
16/05/13 First few clips for my TV Advert have been filmed. This was originally intended to be a part of the
advert but after playing the footage back, I decided to slightly change the Idea for my Advert
which would not include this footage. The reason for this is because I have only been allocated 30
seconds for the Advert and using this footage would make my Advent a lot longer than 30
seconds.
18/05/13 Filming began on my Advert again; Hopefully the Advert will be completely filmed within 3 days.
20/05/13 Filming is completed for the TV Advert; Began working on the GiffGaff Logo and text ‘A life In
Colour’ I also used the Programme ‘Audacity’ to mix my Soundtrack for the Advert.
23/05/13 Finished making the GiffGaff Logo and Text. I also created another sequence where I created a
globe that was spinning, I considered using this globe in the background and changing the text to
‘A world of Colour’ but I decided on not using the Globe because to me it seemed like there was
too much going on and I thought the simple text and logo looked better.
Started piecing together my Advert.
30/05/13 Finished piecing together my Advert having a basic edit ready to have effects added to it.
3/06/13 Started using the selective Colour effect and the ‘Change to Colour’ Effect to give me the desired
effect I wanted.
6/06/13
Managed to do most of my Effects editing and added the Music which I mixed together myself
using an instrumental version of the song and the actual song. My Advert is around 40 seconds
long. I need to edit it and cut it down to the 30 seconds that I was allocated.
13/06/13 Cut down the Advert, I ran into problems and had to Speed up the soundtrack and the video
footage in order to make it fit the 30 seconds I have to use.
2. I finished the video and exported it having the final TV Advert Finished.
