The combination of the music video, digipak, and advert poster effectively promote the artist and his music. The music video tells the story of Peter Pan through references to the artist's song lyrics. The digipak cover features the same sky and Peter Pan silhouette image as the video to visually connect the products. Images of nature on the digipak also relate to the folk genre and video. The advert poster incorporates the digipak cover image along with information on downloading music and the song title from the video. Together, the consistent themes and design across the products represent the artist and appeal to fans.

2. Music Video
• My music video illustrates the story of a young boy enjoying the surroundings of
his home town. The persona is presented as Peter Pan, a boy who never wants to
grow up and leave Neverland. I have chosen to adapt this particular story into my
music video as it makes clear references to my artist’s lyrics and meaning of the
song. For example, whilst conversing with the artist, he explained to me that the
song was based around the thrill of being home and wanting his loved one to
experience this feeling. By taking his own account of the song’s meaning and
referring this to the story of Peter Pan, I believe that the audience will identify
these emotions and learn about the artist on a more personal level.
• The video also portrays an accurate representation of the Indie/Folk genre. This is
due to the codes and conventions I have followed to ensure that I attract the
correct audience members. I have achieved this through carefully researching
and planning shots, costumes, locations, actors and so on.

3. Digipak
• The digipak I have produced is mainly inspired by my music video. I wanted to establish a strong
theme throughout both media products so that my potential audience members could identify
these items with the artist and his genre. Included on the cover of the digipak is an image of the
sky with a cut-out silhouette of Peter Pan. This automatically connects the two products together
visually and highlights the main themes portrayed in the video (the sky and the title ‘Higher’). The
back cover and inside image also relates with the theme of the video and genre. Images of leaves
and trees are typical sceneries featured in Indie/Folk products and really promote the idea of a
organic and natural album. These images have also been used in my own video which continues
to establish the link between my products. As for colour, I decided to stick to a very earthy
scheme as I believe this looks more effective and similar to Oliver’s first album which helps
establish his own star image and style to his existing fans. The font I have chosen is similar to the
one featured on Oliver’s original album work to again, create a distinctive resemblance between
all his pieces of work.
• In conclusion, I feel that my own digipak works well with my music video in promoting my artist’s
image and music. It makes clear references to the tracks featured on the album and visually looks
appealing in the Indie/Folk genre. My planning and research of this task has enabled me to create
these products successfully and will hopefully be popular amongst the viewers and buyers.

4. Advert Poster
• My advert poster is greatly inspired by my digipak cover. I decided to
incorporate the same image onto my poster as I believe it would be the
most effective way to promote both the album and the music video. The
image of the sky and Peter Pan works together well as it refers back to the
narrative in video, but also takes an alternative meaning on the title of the
song. The image itself looks original compared to other products and
creates a sense of enigma which will attract readers to look at it. The font
and colour scheme has been kept the same to ensure the artist’s style
becomes familiar with existing and potential fans. Although the image is
the same as the digipak, I have added extra information to establish the
difference between the two products. On the poster, I have included details
on where to download music content from the artist via Oliver’s web
address. I have also chosen to include the track title of my music video not
only to promote the song, but to inform the reader that he is the artist in
case they were unaware.

5. • In conclusion, I believe that the contribution of my main product and
ancillary texts are very effective in promoting my artist and music
genre. I have ensured that each product links with one another as this
creates an established look which will represent the artist and appeal
to his fans. The research, planning, filming and editing have all been
important concepts in creating my final media products and
altogether have helped me achieve produce items to a high standard.
