The sisters, Solongo and Chun, grow up not knowing about each other. When Solongo's father falls ill, he reveals what he did and Solongo journeys across China to find her mother and sister. She is reunited with her family and discovers that despite being raised in different cultures, she and her sister are still very close.

5. There once was a couple who had
baby girl twins. The babies were
very cute and everyone loved
them.
6. One day, the father left and took
one of the babies. The mother
was left in China with the
other. The father and the other
sister were now in Mongolia.
The mother never gave up
hope to see the other
daughter again.
7.
8. The dad named his daughter Solongo, which
means rainbow. She is now a teenager. Every
morning Solongo wakes up and feeds the rams
and other livestock. She then weaves cloth.
She listens to her father, who never remarried.
Solongo is going to marry the guy next door in
a week.
9. The mother named her child Chun, which
means spring. Every day the daughter would
wake up and make breakfast for her mother
and her new husband. She then helps her
mother in sewing and other household duties.
She now had five brothers. Her mother’s new
husband had already decided who she would
marry and they just got married.
10. One day, Solongo’s dad became very ill. He said to
his daughter, “I am dying. I did something very bad.
I took you away from your mother. I have told Han
where she is,and he said he will take you there. I
love you.” Shocked and crying, she replied “I love
you too.” Solongo and Han started on their journey
across the great wall.
11. Back in China, Chun has devoted her
life to her new husband. She prays
that she will have a boy. This way, she
will make her new husband happy.
12. After a couple of weeks and talking
around they found out things were
different in China. People only
laughed when Solongo asked them
questions, but if Han did it, they
respected him.
13. When they found the house, Chun
answered the door. “Yes?” she said
Han said, “We are looking for Ms. Bik.”
A voice called, “I am in here! Chun let
them in”.
14. An older woman was stand in the room.
When she saw Solongo, she said “May I
help you?” “Yes,” Solongo said, “You are my
mother.” The old woman wrapped her arms
around and said, “Daughter! When your
father and I got in a fight, I had no clue what
to do.Then when I woke up and you too
where gone,I cried for days. Then I
remarried and had all these guys,” she said
pointing at the boys.
15. “Why did my father leave with me?”
asked Solongo. “He thought that
women should be treated better and
get a small education. He wanted to
go to Mongolia, where women can
have influence.”
16. Solongo looked at her sister. She did
not remember her,but they looked just
alike. She looked down to see her
sister’s feet wrapped up. “Are you
hurt?” asked Solongo. “No sister, she
replied “I like my feet tiny.”
17. “So when are you getting married,” said
Solongo, “Father asked Han about two
months ago and we were arranged to get
married in the next week!” “Father arranged
it about a week ago. I have been a bride for
three days now,”replied Chun, “Good thing I
am a good cook because all he does is
eat,eat,eat!
18. The sisters talked all afternoon, and in
the end Han asked, “Wise woman, I
love you and respect your
opinion.Should we move to China?” I
love my sister and mother, but not
enough to move to China.Let us
journey back to our home now.” She
said.
19. When they got back, they were relieved
to see that Solongo's father was in
good health. They told them all about
their adventure. His said nothing but
listened very intently. Then they all
went to Han’s house where Solongo
had prepared dinner. Then they lived
happily ever after.
