My Story
I am a story. You are a story. My story begin when I was born December 13 1997 11 o’clock
p.m. I was born in my house in Cammangaan Santa Cruz Ilocos Sur Philippines. I wasn’t born in
a hospital I was actually born in my house. When I was 2 years old my mom left and went to
Hong Kong to save some money. So my dad teached me how to play basketball, and how to run
fast. My mom wanted my name called Angel but my dad thinks it was ugly so he change it into
Joy. My mom’s name is ArceliGalleta Abaya she was born May 14 1966 and my dad’s name is
Ruben Rapisura Abaya he was born January 20 1967. I have 3 older brothers named Depth
Galleta Abaya his 18 years old he was born October 28 1992, Mark ArbenGalleta Abaya his 17
years old he was born April 29 1994, and RuncelGalleta Abaya his 15 years old he was born
January 13 1996. And I have a new little sister coming at February 14 2012. My brother Depth is
not in school anymore but his still applying for jobs and my 2 other brothers goes too Daniel
Mcintyre School. A family friend Sherilyn Reyes is living in my house she’s 26 years old. Me and
family have been in Canada for 4 years. We went here in July 21 2007. This is only the beginning
of my story but I know someday my story will unfold.
There are sad or happy moments that I have been in, but this two of my story is my favourite
one. One of my best memory is when I knew I got a little sister coming. It was July 2011 me and
my brother, Runcel was sleeping over at my cousin’s house then my mom called my aunt, then
she said to her “I’m pregnant”, then she told us that we have a new sibling. Then me and my
brother were really shock but my cousin’s were yelling to both of us. It change to be more
responsible and to take care of my mom. It’s important to me because I really want a little
brother or sister and I finally got one. One of my sadness story is when my uncle died. It was
November 13 2006, my uncle and his friend went to sell some rice. When they were selling it,
there was a person just looking at them. Then he got a gun so he shot my uncle, so he shot him
like 31 times so there was 31 bullets in his body. It’s important to me because like when I was a
kid everyday he keeps biting my cheeks and calling me Badjang. So that’s what I like about him.
Then every week when I was so little he would dressed me up and take my picture around. That
guy shot him because he wanted another mayor because my uncle was a mayor then. It change
me to be more stronger and to be brave. I know there’s a lot of sad or happy story but when I
knew my little sister is coming and my uncle died it is the most important story for me.
My future self is becoming more responsible because my mom is telling to be more
responsible for my little sister and for school. I think I’m becoming more lazier because one day
I didn’t do any homework, and when I get home I just eat and watch T.V everyday. My future
self will becoming a nurse because my mom wants me to be a nurse because she’s a Health

Cared Aid , so I could help my brothers , parents , and grandparents. My goal is to be an artist, I
will achieve it by ignoring my mom because she keeps telling me what would my job be.
