•-It is a resource for everyday
life, not the object of living,
and is a positive concept
emphasizing social and
personal resources as well
as physical capabilities.

physical, mental or
intellectual, emotional,
social, moral-spiritual and
environmental well being,
and not merely the absence
of disease or infirmity.
Holistic Health
•Harmony and balance in all
aspect of health-physical,
mental, emotional, social and
moral-spiritual.
In the Health Check Activity, you listed down
practices and habits that may help you live healthy. Which
of the following activities you listed will help you develop
healthy living?
As an adolescent, you must be responsible with what
you should be eating and doing. Your health must be your
priority. Being healthy means dealing with what we are
doing daily without getting tired easily and suffering from
undue fatigue.

FIVE DIMENSIONS OF HOLISTIC HEALTH
PHYSICAL HEALTH
-It means how well your body functions.
It is a state of well-being when all
internal and external body parts, organs,
tissues and cells can function properly
as they are supposed to function.
PHYSICAL HEALTH
-It includes physically fit, eating
nutritiously, and getting adequate
rest and sleep. It also means the
ability to carry out daily task without
becoming to tired.

mind energized eat
nutritious food

disorder never skip meals
or overeat.

To cleanse the body,
drink 8-10 glasses a
day.

body, maintain fitness by
exercising the body

• To detect illness at early
stage have a regular
check-ups.

• To enhance growth and
development, sleep at
least 7 uninterrupted
hours daily.

MENTAL OR INTELLECTUAL HEALTH
-It means being a lifelong
learner by continuously wanting
to learn new things and
improves one’s skills

• Maintain a positive outlook, especially when
dealing problems with conflicts

-refers to how well you get
along with other people, how
other people react and how you
interact with social institutions.

It refers to how well you meet the demands of
daily life and how you adjust to new situations. It
also means expressing your happiness, love, joy
and hope as well as your sadness, anger, stress
and fear in healthful productive ways

MORAL- SPIRITUAL HEALTH
-means being at peace and in
harmony with yourself, others and a
higher power. It refers to your
religion, principles, personal beliefs,
values and faith.
MORAL- SPIRITUAL HEALTH
-It involves the quality of personal
relationships or a love of nature. It
involves a sense that life has meaning
and purpose and that you are in
harmony with your purpose in life.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
-means the understanding of the effect to
ourselves of the air, the water and the land that
surrounds us. To recognize the impact of
environmental and human-made hazards and the
ability to find ways on how to protect ourselves
and the ecological systems against these hazards is
important.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
• Understand the effect of the air, the water, and the
land that surrounds our health.
Example: Observe proper waste disposal to avoid
contamination of our environment.
• Recognize the impact of environment and man-made
hazards.
Examples: Remember the five R’s of waste management:
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
1. REFUSE- It includes garbage and rubbish. Garbage is mostly
decomposable food waste. Rubbish is mostly dry material such as glass,
paper, cloth, or wood.
2. REDUCE – It is to help cut down the amount of waste we throw away.
3. REUSE –It is learning to reuse items or re-purpose them like old jars
and pots into ornaments and shipping containers and created them into
home and offices.
4. REPURPOSE- It refers to the process by which an object with one use
value is transformed or redeployed as an object with an alternative use
value.
5. RECYCLE- It is to use recycled paper for printing, handicraft or
ornaments.
• Overall good health and wellness are inter-
dependent on six dimensions. Being healthy
is much more that not being sick. Your
health is made up of physical, mental,
social, spiritual-moral and environmental
resources that allow you to live a satisfying
and productive life.

REUSE –It is learning to reuse items or re-purpose them like old jars and pots into ornaments and shipping containers and created them into home and offices. 4. REPURPOSE- It refers to the process by which an object with one use value is transformed or redeployed as an object with an alternative use value. 5. RECYCLE- It is to use recycled paper for printing, handicraft or ornaments.
