Captain America Civil War Movie vs Comic Differences
1. Captain America Civil War
I have chosen this movie and adaption of the real comic as I enjoyed the movie
although it did make a few changes, but there are reasons for this as I am going
to explain in this essay.
The comparisons of the movie and comic are very
different as you can see from the images above; in the
movie there is only around 10 heroes, whereas the
comic has over 30 just in that image alone. The
reason for this is obviously for money reasons as it
would be super expensive to get all the heroes from the comic but also it is for
legal reasons because the movie does not own all the characters from the comic,
such as in the comic one of the main characters is the fantastic four group, but as
the fantastic four movies are owned by Fox, this could not be done for the movie.
The success of the comic and the movie are very similar as the comic is one of the
most popular comics in the comic book world, and the Civil war movie was a big
follow up as it is one of the most successful superhero movies ever. The rating of
the movie is a 8.0/10 on IMDB also a 90% on Rotten tomatoes and a 5/5 on
Empire. The only superhero movies to do this well are films such as Batman the
Dark knight and rises and Begins (the whole Christian bale series) and The first
Avengers movie and the new Deadpool movie, which was also a great movie
from 2016 similar to Civil war movie. Civil War movie had a budget of 250
million dollars, which may seem like a lot but it reeled in 1.125 billion dollars on
Box office. However for the comic reviews of Civil war, it is rated a 4.1 out of 5 on
the comic book website goodreads.com.
The legal and ethical considerations for the movie and comic would be to think
about which heroes you are going to use for the movie as you do not have all the
rights to all the heroes to use freely and whenever you want. Also like any other
comic and movie, copyright plays a big part and keep brands out of them unless
you have permission to use them.
