13. Data Center – Disaster Recovery
y
• NetSuite operates two geographically separated data centers: a
primary in California and a secondary in Massachusetts.
Massachusetts
• The secondary DC provides data mirroring, disaster recovery and
failover capabilities should the primary DC become non-operational.
• Disaster Recovery: Data in the primary is replicated and
synchronized in the secondary. In the event that the primary fails, all
p y
operations fail over to the secondary.

14. Data Center - Availability
y
• Redundant Internet Connection - Both DCs have three 1 GBps pipes designed
so any two connections can simultaneously fail without impacting user
experience
experience.
• Backup Power System - Each UPS is designed to carry full load for 15 min.
Generators provide backup power in less than 10 sec and can support the entire
facility at maximum load.
• HVAC Systems - To maintain air flow and proper heat dissipation an N+1
redundant system of HVAC units is used. Cold water tanks keep AC units
functioning when transitioning to generator power.
• Fire Suppression - Fire suppression methods and systems utilize state of the art
state-of-the-art
“sniffer” systems, augmented by heat detection and dry-pipe sprinkler systems.
• Seismic Engineering - Seismic isolation equipment is used to cushion facilities
against movement. Earthquake bracing is installed on all racks which are

anchored to the concrete below.
