4. Mummies
• A mummy is a person
who has died and their
skin and organs has
been preserved by
chemicals.
• This is called
embalming.
• Egyptians believed that
you would bring your
body with you into the
afterlife.
5. Hieroglyphics was their writing system or alphabet. The Rosetta Stone was found in 1799
and was translated in 1822, this was the beginning for translating Hieroglyphics.
6. Originally worn by Pharaohs, used to show a Royal name. Sometimes used outside of
tombs to show who was buried there.
