1. Age: 12-18- I think that this is an appropriate age range because of the headlines.
‘back to school style’Wich will appeal to them because they will want to look their
best for school. Also the fonts are all different shapes and sizes which will catch
there eye.
Gender: Female- There are two young girls on the front wearing brightly coulourd
dresses. Also the headlines are about the latest fashion trends and hairstyles. One of
the headline articles is about Zac Efron wich will appeal more to females than boys.
Class/job: upper middle class (C1,B), still at school or collage.
Interests: The viewers would probably like to know what the latest fashion and hair
trends are. Also they would most likely aspire to have a healthy lifestyle and know
how to look their best and want to know the latest celebrity gossip.
Youth tribes: The youth tribes for this magazine are probably the ‘RAHS’ and the
‘blingers’.
I think that this magazine fits in with the blingers because they are always
interested in looking their best and wanting a healthy lifestyle which could also be
known as the ‘American lifestyle’. They always have their eyes on celebrities and
new fashion statements.
I think it fits in with the RAHS because that youth tribe has a reputation for being
classy and being interested in high end shops which teen vogue feature in their
magazine.
Both tribes are likely to be interested in brands such as Jack wills, Ralph Lauren
and Gucci. They most likely listen to the charts and always know what's the latest
hit. Bands they may be interested in are well known around the world. These could be
ones such as: one direction, the vamps, Justin Bieber, Rhianna etc..
2. Age: 18-45- I think this is an appropriate age range because it
isn't bright and colourful which most young children look for but
still has pops of colour. There are some serious articles featured
on the front which would appeal to the older generation.
Gender: Female- I think this because there is a women on the front
as the main image and all of the articles involve women.
Class/jobs: The class for this magazine is probably lower middle
class (C2, C1) They most likely have a full time working job and
perhaps pick up the magazine in their lunch breaks, hence the name.
Interests: Even though their lives are busy they still like to be
informed on what's going on in todays world. They may also like
knowing the latest gossip or even just like reading about what's
happening on the television! There fashion may be very simple and
bland and always like looking at the high end shops but they just
stick to the high street. The brands they may be interested in are:
Primark, topshop, river island, H&M etc..
They may like music that is very different and unique such as: Take
that, Elton john, Michael Jackson etc..
Youth tribes: I think the ‘young alts’ tribe fits into this
magazine. Reasons I think this is because they like to have there
eyes and ears open and full of new knowledge and getting stuck into
as much media as they can ;Which this magazine is great for as it
is full of news of todays society.
