Inca Music Research Paper
Who were the Inca? Little information pertaining to the Inca Empire has kept a significant aspect of Latin American history shrouded in mystery. With
an estimated population of between 15–20 million inhabitants, the Inca should be viewed as prime example of what the Americas were like prior to the
Spanish domination of their empire (Martin 41). This means an in depth understanding of whom the Inca are must be accomplish before understanding
specific aspects of Inca culture. With so many aspects of the Inca Empire being undocumented, this paper will primarily focus on and give new insight
into Inca music, a rarely discussed topic. The paper will see if music of the Inca lives on and how Inca customs have been radically altered from outside
sources ranging from religious institutions, foreign nations, and slaves being brought over from Africa. Cultural influences have affected Inca music
and have transformed their music into something it never was initially.

However the beauty of ethnomusicology demonstrates that Inca music still lives on and will continue to survive. Instruments of the Inca may not be
made with the same materials or constructed in the same fashion, however these instruments still have a presence in todays world. Hundreds of years
have past since truly authentic Inca instruments were played yet a new generation of musicians demonstrates that Inca music is far from being
eradicated.
This can be seen especially with the Inca wind instruments. Having grown in popularity, instruments like the Kena flute are actively played especially
in soundtracks of nature programs. The modernized Kena is now longer in length and no longer made of llama bones. It is now made from wood,
which has altered the sound of the instrument. Luckily the sound it produces still sounds like wild life from the Andes (Quena or Kena Flute

Sexism In Video Games
Video Games. Video Gaming has been a popular form of entertainment in modern pop culture since the early 1980's. From the early beginnings of
software producers such as Nintendo, they have been creating games that have become favorable classics in only a few decades. With the most
popular classic video games including Super Mario Bros. (1985), Donkey Kong (1981), Pac–Man (1980), and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
(1998), we can quickly note some patterns. One of the patterns that we can note is all of the main playable protagonists within these games are male.
The second pattern that we can note is the majority of the games listed above have a storyline written about rescuing a princess – one of the only
notable female characters within the game. Along with this, the female characters are only story–advancing non–playable characters (NPC's). When
the online gaming community was first introduced and popularized in the early 2000's, females in the gaming community quickly faced another
obstacle; sexism. Anonymity within the gaming community has become more than a tactic to hide your identity. For the majority of female gamers in
the gaming community, anonymity has become a crucial aid to avoid sexist comments and actions from other online players. According to a 2006
Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) report, women who were aged between 25–34 were out–playing males during non–console competitive
gaming. Also from this report, we can note that in the UK women have

Locate the wall that has vines reaching the second floor and climb onto them. Here Link will be able to find a chest that contains the dungeon map
and on the same floor, he'll find another chest with the dungeon item, the fairy slingshot, inside. The fairy slingshot allows Link to kill or stun any
enemy he comes up against and is vital for the boss fight. Back at the main entrance, the player will notice there is a giant spider web covering the
entrance into the bottom level of the dungeon. In order to break it, climb up the vines until Link reaches the top floor Jump off one of the
platforms and land on top of the web, the force of the drop will break the web and Link will land in the lower level of the dungeon. Continue onto
each room and complete the small puzzles. The puzzles are all fairly easy and involve Link lighting a Deku Stick on fire to light the room's torches.
To obtain a Deku stick, defeat a Deku Baba and picking up his stick. After completing the puzzles, Link will enter a room with three Deku Scrubs.
He'll need to hit them in the middle one first, the one to the right second, and the one to the left last. After he hits the last Deku Scrub, it will pop out
of the ground and tell Link the secret to defeating the boss and will also open the boss room

Symbols In The Legend Of Zelda
Legend of Zelda Tattoos– Gaming Has Never Looked This Good! Legend of Zelda is arguably one of the most popular and successful video games
of all times. The first version of this game was released in the 1980's and has attracted an army of fans. The game and its story have evolved over
time but the main characters and the feeling has always remained the same. And if you are a die–hard Legend of Zelda fan surely you can't be without
a Legend of Zelda tattoo? The object of the game is pretty much the same in all the variations and versions of the game. They player is in control of a

This is one of the most requested Legend of Zelda Tattoos. It consists of three triangles which form one large triangle. It represents power, courage
and wisdom. In the game this symbol is gold so some fans color their tattoos yellow while others prefer bold black. Eye of Truth – Another popular
symbol that Zelda fans love to use for a tattoo is the Eye of Truth. This is designed as a simple eye with three triangles above it and a long teardrop
underneath. In solid black, this makes a bold and interesting tattoo. Hearts / Crystal hearts – In the game heart containers (or Bowl of Hearts) are items
to collect that increase Link's health (symbolized by a life bar). Rows of hearts or crystal hearts are popular for tattoos, especially among female
Zelda fans. They are often seen in an 8–bit design (see techniques below). Meaning Most clients who get a Zelda tattoo do so to pay respect to their
favorite game and identify themselves as fans. The messages of courage and power within the game resonate strongly with many people. Often they

The Legal Aspects Of Emulations And Emulators
GAMES
Convenience of Emulators: (Sinh Ly)
The legal aspects of emulations and emulators are tied with its association with ROMs, as defined by Nintendo as Read Only Memory, which are
usually illegally ripped (2015). An emulator is a software that attempts to replicate the functions of another platform, in this case, a gaming console or
portable system, to run the code and interpret data from plugins that can interpret signals from a controller and used with the program (Newman,
2013). The creation of emulators themselves are perfectly legal as an "act of investigation and analysis" (Newman, 2013). If these emulators were to
be used in conjunction with new devices, such as the Retrode, which allows for classic game cartridges to be read via USB on an emulator installed onto
a computer, then the act would be deemed legal (Orland, 2013). However, as the Orland stated himself, "These ROMS are legal, even though they're
identical to illegal ones you could find elsewhere,"(2013) such thoughts leads to the negative connotation of 'promoting piracy' that is associated with
emulators when the gaming industry thinks of them. According to Nintendo (2015) on their opinions towards emulation:
The introduction of emulators created to play illegally copied Nintendo software represents the greatest threat to date to the intellectual property rights
of video game developers. As is the case with any business or industry, when its products become available for free, the revenue stream

Personal Narrative Essay: The Legend Of Zelda
It was getting close to the end of summer my friend decided I'm going to upgrade to the Xbox one and gave me the old 360. I thought it was pretty
awesome considering I only had. A Wii you and a PS 3 . I thought it was really cool usually I would go over to play his Xbox I frankly always
preferred It over the PS and wii .I was so excited when he said I could have it she also gave me some of the games that didn't work on his Xbox one. He
warned me about his legend of Zelda disc though he said it was pretty quick shoot at times and chance completely like it wasn't even the same
game but he still played it because he loves Zelda. When I got home that day I immediately set up the Xbox I was stoked to have it I didn't say I
might have some more game and I went in the attic. I didn't find any Games for the consul but I found a N64 and some games. I decided that I

But what was weird is the consuls stayed on everything else went off when the games finally loaded. what I thought was weird was they both said

they played as usual but what was of sitting what's the fact that they had the same graphics. but when I go out to the castle thing started getting
glitchy and I don't mean like it was a little buggy I mean it was coding but what was extremely creepy was it look the same but my link was
different when I entered the castle his eyes turned black and it look like they melted out of his socket he's not at the screen both of them and look at

One of Nintendo's most distinguished franchises is the Legend of Zelda, and this year marks the 30th anniversary of the acclaimed series. Over the
past three decades, not only has the series grown, but it has also assisted in helping to advance the video game industry. Many modern day action
adventure games owe a lot to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and the franchise continues to innovate by introducing new gameplay concepts.
Coinciding with the 30th anniversary, 2016 celebrates the 10th anniversary of the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which launched
on GameCube and served as a Wii launch title in 2006.

The Legend Of Zelda 's Mask
What is the most mysterious video game you have ever played? The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is by far the darkest entry in the series
(Beast). Majora's Mask, the mysterious pastime that gave its creators nightmares, is not only one of the best participants in the Legend of Zelda
series, but also one of the top games of all time. Even though it had a slow start, because Nintendo's rival released the PlayStation 2, a few days
after Majora's Mask was released, in spite of this, it still claimed its spot as one of the greatest technological amusements of all time (Luckerson).
Majora 's Mask received many incredible ratings, many of which were near perfect scores.

The mask finally now free, immediately began its plot to destroy the earth. Skull Kid summoned the moon to come crashing down on Termina. In the
interim, with three days of life left for everyone, Link swiftly solved everyone's problems and re–ascended the moon back to space.
This three day period is not only an excellent addition to the story, but it is also a great challenge for players. "Time steadily passes in the game
while you play, with the daylight giving way to the night..." (Stratton 14). "Each day is 18 minutes long, allowing for a whopping 54 minutes of
game time" (Mirabella). Accordingly, this added pressure can easily stump beginning players, but for masters of Majora's Mask, time seems to stand
still. The developers did not leave players without a remedy for this time limit though; they provided players with the Ocarina of Time.
"Given to Link by Princess Zelda, this magical instrument calls forth legendary powers to aid Link in his quest" (Stratton 21). The most useful way
that Link can use the Ocarina of Time is to slow time down, which doubles those precious 54 minutes into 108 stress–free minutes. In addition to this,
Link can use his Ocarina is to travel back to the dawn of the first day of the story. This allows him another three days to try to save the world again.
Most people who had complaints toward Majora's Mask were specifically unhappy about the time limit. For this reason, they complained

ВЁ It is something that grows over time... a true friendship. A feeling in the heart that becomes even stronger over time" (Sheik from The Legend
of Zelda: Ocarina of Time). This quote means that if you make a friend he/she will stick by your side, and that platonic relationship you have made
with that person will grow over time. Video games like a friendship aren't bad for you. Some people believe that by playing these games you would
become more violent, while in reality this is not true. Many people who play violent video games believe that the games do not make anyone who plays

Ferguson, "Motivations for playing violent video games may be understood in this context, with players seeking out violent games as a means of
stress reduction. From this, it would be expected that stressed, unhappy or individuals with mental health symptoms would be more inclined to
use video games with the motivation of reducing stress. There is some evidence that violent games may be effective in this realm." It means that
video games allow relieving stress and anger. The other side says that games "make the people who play them angry. Not just a little angry, the
make them furious. At first, I'm shouting at the game, and if I keep playing, I get this incredible urge to throw a serious tantrum and throw stuff

evolution of The Legend of Zelda.

Each time they look a bit different but they always hold that same basic form that they did in previous games. This was all brought on by the curse
that Demise placed on the three at the end of Skyward Sword. Because both Link and Zelda were connected to Triforce and held the power of
courage and wisdom this curse could have also effected the three goddesses as their power lies in the three pieces of the triforce. Something to note
that back this up is the figurine found in the Minish Cap of Nayru– the text describing her says : She is descended from a line of oracles in the land of
Labrynna. Din also had a figurine that eludes to this as well it states that – She's a famous dancer from the land of Holodrum. The reason we mention
these two figuries is because it shows that at least two of the oracles have been reborn o at least once. Minish Cap takes place right after the event of

Nintendo has finally graced us with some demonstrations of their chapter in the ongoing Legend of Zelda saga.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild features a massive, open–world version of Hyrule. While story elements were not shown, what we have learned
from the demo is that Hyrule is a kingdom in a state of decline. Link awakes from a state of suspended animation inside of an ancient shrine. A voice

Link will be able to pick up a wide range of weapons from fallen foes. Link can use anything from a tree branch to a woodsman's ax. Of course,
swords will always play a role in Zelda, and Link will be able to collect those elegant blades as well. Weapons don't last forever though. Link's
instruments of destruction will degrade and break after heavy use, so he will need to be on the lookout for new weapons throughout the adventure.
Link also demonstrated a new fighting technique, reminiscent of Witch Time from the Bayonetta series. If Link times a counterattack precisely, then
he will slow down time for his enemy, allowing a quick barrage of attacks to be dealt.
Amiibo support is a natural for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Tapping in the Wolf Link Amiibo will bring that character into the new Zelda to
act as a support. It's a nice option to have as this is the first Zelda game in a long time that doesn't have a companion character like Navi, from Legend
of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
One rumor that has been flying around with intensity is that the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would feature an option to select Link's gender,
or perhaps provide an option to play as Linkle, from Hyrule

16 Bit Processors. The Year 1989 Saw The Leap From 8-Bit
16 bit processors. The year 1989 saw the leap from 8–bit to 16–bit consoles with NEC's TurboGrafx–16 and Sega's Genesis 16, both of which featured
six–channel stereo sound. The 16–bit processing chip offered by Sega could process two times as much data per cycle as the earlier 8–bit processors.
Additionally, it included an 8–bit processor solely for sound. Combined, this resulted in a clearer, fuller sound; larger, more detailed games; better
developed characters; complex graphics; and faster action. Finally, home video game systems could compete with the performance features of the much
larger coin–operated arcade games. With this increase in technology, Sega was able to surpass theNintendo system in sales by 1991, and became the ...

The 32 and 64–bit Game Systems. From 1993 through 2000, the video game industry jumped from 16–bit to 32–bit, and eventually to 64–bit systems
(Gerald Lynch). As 64–bit systems emerged, the mere classification of "bit" numbers became less important due to the fact that performance now
depended on increasingly important factors such as processor clock speed, bandwidth and memory size. However, there were benefits to be gained
from the 64–bit upgrade. Enhanced speed and memory allowed games to render more realistic collisions, lifelike simulations of graphics and real–time
multi–channel audio features. This era proved to be dominated by the Nintendo 64 and the Sony PlayStation. Sony entered the market in 1995 at the
32–bit level with its PlayStation able to provide "CD–quality stereo sound," including "built–in support for digital effects such as reverb and looping."

Anyone who wants to call themselves a gamer has to have some idea as to what Zelda is. It is among one of the most popular video game series out

for one of the video games doesn't change much. You are this elf looking boy or adult namedLink that is on a quest to rescue Princess Zelda, reunite the
Triforce, and save the land of Hyrule from evils such as Ganondorf. That is the general idea for almost every single one of the Zelda games, but what

This set up the way for the gamer to willing accept other ideas in the games, such as the religion of Hyrule.
I have mentioned the religion of Hyrule multiple times now, but haven't explained what it actually is yet. In essence, the religion of Hyrule is the
perfect combination of all religions that allows for players of all beliefs or none at all to come and enjoy the game and this is what I will be
arguing. Across the many games in the Zelda series, there are traces of Christianity, Muslim, Atheism, and even Shinto, Japans primary religion.
These traces all seem to combine into the central idea of the Triforce, the legendary symbol of the Goddesses of Hyrule. The Triforce is made up
of three different parts which each represent different virtues. They are the Triforce of wisdom, Triforce of courage, and Triforce of power. When
the three pieces are combined, it creates the complete Triforce which grants the inner most desire of person who touches it first. The Goddesses of
Hyrule are Din, Nayru, and Farore, who are said to have created the world, then created the Triforce, then elected the hero of time (who is Link) to
defend the land from the powers of evil that could arise if someone of not pure heart gets ahold of the Triforce. The most interesting part about the
three goddesses is the idea that the normal person

Zelda Wind Waker Research Paper
Students rarely have time where they can spend time doing the things that they revel in. One of the most popular indulgences at ASU is that students
love to play video games. Even though most students would want to play more modernized games, I would highly suggest students take the time to
appreciate what the classic genre has to offer. The Zelda franchise literally formed the gaming industry into the industry it is today. One of the games
that has shifted the Zelda franchise is The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker.
Similarly to the mass of the other ZELDA games; Wind Waker approaches gameplay with an almost identical trial. On Outset Island it is a young
warrior named Link's birthday. It is a special day where he finally has the honor to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although he has a massive amount of health it, however, is not a good thing. You can fight an entire swarm of enemies and not come close to dying.
Even though it was supposed to be an exciting fix, it pulls away from the challenge that so many players love. Boss battles are plentiful, but Link has
too much health for an intermediate to advanced player. But, this might be a better aspect for younger players.
With rich, vibrant colors Wind Waker appeals to a more expansive age group. Instead of the dark grotesque animations, Link is instead surrounded by
fluid green and blues. For the time it was created in Wind Waker excelled in animation. Even though the 3–D animation was a relatively new and
unestablished parameter, the animators did an impeccable job at creating a vivid platform. Although the game lacks the realism of today, it does
however, compare closely to the more modernized generation of Nintendo games. Outstanding visuals can only be paired with energetic and exciting
music. The songs are fitting for each play through, with every step you take there is a new synchronized melody playing in the background.
Harmonizing with the beat of the music is a sound effect that matches the heartbeat of the game; pulling the whole piece

In a Nintendo Direct back in late January of 2013, Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma claims that with Zelda WiiU, they plan to "rethink
the conventions of Zelda" in order to get back to the basics of the franchise. Later, at the Game Awards in December of 2014, Aonuma along with
series creator Shigeru Miyamoto showed off some footage of the game that, while only a small glimpse, really gives the vibe that they actually are
trying to take the franchise back to its roots.
This will be a breath of fresh air as most of the titles in the series don't even come close to feeling as much like a true adventure as the original did.
Because you see, a journey isn't a journey without choice, and the original Legend of Zelda game makes near perfect use of it, unlike the rest of the
games in the franchise which, in some way or another, tend to make a lot of the choices for you and make you go through pages of story and
instructional dialogue where it isn't actually necessary.
Since Zelda WiiU isn't far off in the distance, now seems like a better time than ever to go over some of the ways The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo

The item you need might be available nearby but for an expensive price. There are a few cases however in which the item is also available
somewhere else, but cheaper. It's up to the player to decide whether or not it's worth it to make the trek to the cheaper shop for the item or to play
it safe and buy the item at a higher cost. In the 3D Zelda games, it's so easy to just smash pots, stab an enemy or cut grass to get rupees that there's
no real gamble in buying items. To add to it, the original doubles rupees not just as your money but also as your ammunition for arrows. This helps to
make money even more valuable, to the point where you'll often be indecisive about whether or not to buy an item or use your arrows in case you'll
need that currency

Unless you plan on moving to Antarctica or some other desolate and culturally barren wasteland such as Gainesville, escaping the influence of media

Zelda Ocarina Of Time Research Paper
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was released in the November of 1998. Upon its release it was widely acclaimed from critics to players. It's rare
for a game for its age to still be in talks today decades later. On "Metacritic" it's in the top 3 highest rated games of all time. It's a game every 90's
kids remember and have played. No one expected for Ocarina of Time to split the Zelda timeline into 3 and leave the games into a whole new
disaster. There are spoilers ahead for the Ocarina of Time, so be warned. Here is an explanation of the 3 Zelda timelines and where the games fit in
them. The first timeline is known as the child era or the hero's descent era. In this era at the end of Ocarina of Time, Adult link, after defeating Ganon,...

In Ocarina we know that Link being sent back created "time splits" but Nintendo shocked people with a third timeline. A timeline where Link
failed and died trying to defeat Ganon. This timeline is know as the "Fallen Hero Timeline." The games in this timeline are the games from the
SNES and NES so they all have the same plot, being that Link must stop Ganon again to save the world. This timeline is the most questionable
because it's hard to see Link fail and lead a depressing timeline. I feel it's a good place to put up the old Zelda games and make sure they have a place
instead of altering them. That's the end of that time line now so let's wrap this

Fellowship Of The Ring Comparison
The Fellowship of the Ring suggests eminent amounts of interest, adventure and inspiration as it utilizes great detail and excitement all throughout the
storyline. Notably, at first glance this book is profoundly intriguing as it is fantasy–fiction and creates an entire alternate universe for you to imagine
and develop within your mind. For instance in one of my favourite games The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Link must collect the three
spiritual stones before Ganondorf to save Hyrule from evil ways. Similarly, Frodo must take the ring away from Shire and not let Sauron find him,
and it is connected to Zelda as they both are fictional adventure stories which develop more deeply as they their journeys continue. My first
impression of the book is Frodo seems to be put in a situation completely due to fate as Bilbo settled on giving the ring to him while Frodo never

The Legend Of Zelda And Its Effect On The Game Industry
For 30 years, an elf–like dude in a green shirt has embarked on adventure after adventure. His appearance changed, his setting changed, but his spirit
never changed. Throughout the years, the brunt of a specific journey reverberated throughout the video game industry. A new meaning of adventure
shook the foundation of video games; this new definition is "linked" to the Legend of Zelda and it's green capped heroine. Thus, The Legend of Zelda:
Ocarina of Time changed the gaming landscape forever.
The Legend of Zelda is full of lore and history, that nobody knew about before Ocarina of Time. the golden goddesses, also known as the old gods, are

If the evil one destroys the Hero, nothing can save the world from his wicked reign. Only a person of the Knights Of Hyrule, who protected the royalty

had given us ever before, but the game also gave fans creative and innovative game mechanics never handled before. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina
of Time, built on a super customized/advanced version of Super Mario 64's engine, permitted new, never before seen features. Ocarina of time was
originally ported on a 64DD peripheral cartridge. The game ended up released on a 256–megabit cartridge; the biggest Nintendo produced at the time
due to the sheer size of Ocarina. Nintendo added a "targeting system" which was entirely new to video games and the camera mechanics were
unprecedented. People felt that in a 3d game they couldn't move their character exactly where they wanted them to go while moving in a three
dimensional environment, especially while targeting. Targeting can activate by pressing the Z trigger on the back of the N64 controller. This allowed
the camera to "lock–onto" an important object. This way when you move, the camera stays centered on the enemy or important object. According to a
Kotaku interview,Shigeru Miyamoto said "At that time there really was no blueprint for how to create that kind of game in a 3D space," he explains.
"No–one had done it

NINTENDO'S DISRUPTIVE STRATEGY:
IMPLICATIONS FOR THE VIDEO GAME
INDUSTRY
For some time we have believed the game industry is ready for disruption.
Not just from Nintendo, but from all game developers. It is what we all need to expand our audience. It is what we all need to expand our imaginations.
– Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo Co. Ltd1
In the 2008 BusinessWeek–Boston Consulting Group ranking of the world's most innovative companies, Nintendo Co. Ltd ("Nintendo") was ranked
seventh, up from 39th the previous year. 2 This recognised Nintendo's significant transformation into an innovative design powerhouse that had
challenged the prevailing business model of the video game industry.
In 2000, when Sony, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the period 1970 to 1985, Nintendo began focusing on the manufacture of electronic toys and entered the budding field of video games [see
Exhibit 1].
Interestingly, 1991, the year when Nintendo launched the highly popular Super NES in the
US, was also the year that saw Nintendo's vision become Sony's opportunity–and the creation of what could be described as Nintendo's "greatest
challenge" for over a decade – the Sony PlayStation ("PS"). Nintendo had wanted to incorporate CD–ROM into their Super
NES, and Sony had agreed to create the PS for this purpose. However, over the next two years, conflicts of vision between Nintendo and Sony
continued, and the two finally parted ways.
Nintendo went ahead with Philips technology, 4 and Sony was left with the PS, which the company decided to continue developing. Given Sony's
clout and resources, when the PS and its wide range of games were finally released in Japan in 1994, the console was an instant resounding success. In
1995, Sony released the PS in the US, totally uprooting Nintendo's established name in the industry.
For many years, Nintendo had been a dominant player in the video game industry. It had sold more than two billion games since 1985. Its top–selling
series included non–violent and easyto–play games such as Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda. The huge success of its games portfolio could
be attributed to its appeal to all age groups across different

Inca Music Research Paper

  • 1. Inca Music Research Paper Who were the Inca? Little information pertaining to the Inca Empire has kept a significant aspect of Latin American history shrouded in mystery. With an estimated population of between 15–20 million inhabitants, the Inca should be viewed as prime example of what the Americas were like prior to the Spanish domination of their empire (Martin 41). This means an in depth understanding of whom the Inca are must be accomplish before understanding specific aspects of Inca culture. With so many aspects of the Inca Empire being undocumented, this paper will primarily focus on and give new insight into Inca music, a rarely discussed topic. The paper will see if music of the Inca lives on and how Inca customs have been radically altered from outside sources ranging from religious institutions, foreign nations, and slaves being brought over from Africa. Cultural influences have affected Inca music and have transformed their music into something it never was initially. Background Information– ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instruments of the Inca may not be made with the same materials or constructed in the same fashion, however these instruments still have a presence in todays world. Hundreds of years have past since truly authentic Inca instruments were played yet a new generation of musicians demonstrates that Inca music is far from being eradicated. This can be seen especially with the Inca wind instruments. Having grown in popularity, instruments like the Kena flute are actively played especially in soundtracks of nature programs. The modernized Kena is now longer in length and no longer made of llama bones. It is now made from wood, which has altered the sound of the instrument. • 2. Sexism In Video Games Video Games. Video Gaming has been a popular form of entertainment in modern pop culture since the early 1980's. From the early beginnings of software producers such as Nintendo, they have been creating games that have become favorable classics in only a few decades. With the most popular classic video games including Super Mario Bros. (1985), Donkey Kong (1981), Pac–Man (1980), and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998), we can quickly note some patterns. One of the patterns that we can note is all of the main playable protagonists within these games are male. The second pattern that we can note is the majority of the games listed above have a storyline written about rescuing a princess – one of the only notable female characters within the game. Along with this, the female characters are only story–advancing non–playable characters (NPC's). When the online gaming community was first introduced and popularized in the early 2000's, females in the gaming community quickly faced another obstacle; sexism. Anonymity within the gaming community has become more than a tactic to hide your identity. For the majority of female gamers in the gaming community, anonymity has become a crucial aid to avoid sexist comments and actions from other online players. According to a 2006 Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) report, women who were aged between 25–34 were out–playing males during non–console competitive gaming. Also from this report, we can note that in the UK women have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Legal Aspects Of Emulations And Emulators GAMES Convenience of Emulators: (Sinh Ly) The legal aspects of emulations and emulators are tied with its association with ROMs, as defined by Nintendo as Read Only Memory, which are usually illegally ripped (2015). An emulator is a software that attempts to replicate the functions of another platform, in this case, a gaming console or portable system, to run the code and interpret data from plugins that can interpret signals from a controller and used with the program (Newman, 2013). The creation of emulators themselves are perfectly legal as an "act of investigation and analysis" (Newman, 2013). If these emulators were to be used in conjunction with new devices, such as the Retrode, which allows for classic game cartridges to be read via USB on an emulator installed onto a computer, then the act would be deemed legal (Orland, 2013). However, as the Orland stated himself, "These ROMS are legal, even though they're identical to illegal ones you could find elsewhere,"(2013) such thoughts leads to the negative connotation of 'promoting piracy' that is associated with emulators when the gaming industry thinks of them. According to Nintendo (2015) on their opinions towards emulation: The introduction of emulators created to play illegally copied Nintendo software represents the greatest threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers. The developers did not leave players without a remedy for this time limit though; they provided players with the Ocarina of Time. The most useful way that Link can use the Ocarina of Time is to slow time down, which doubles those precious 54 minutes into 108 stress–free minutes. In addition to this, Link can use his Ocarina is to travel back to the dawn of the first day of the story. This allows him another three days to try to save the world again. • 21. Zelda Wind Waker Research Paper Students rarely have time where they can spend time doing the things that they revel in. One of the most popular indulgences at ASU is that students love to play video games. Even though most students would want to play more modernized games, I would highly suggest students take the time to appreciate what the classic genre has to offer. The Zelda franchise literally formed the gaming industry into the industry it is today. One of the games that has shifted the Zelda franchise is The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Similarly to the mass of the other ZELDA games; Wind Waker approaches gameplay with an almost identical trial. On Outset Island it is a young warrior named Link's birthday. Boss battles are plentiful, but Link has too much health for an intermediate to advanced player. But, this might be a better aspect for younger players. With rich, vibrant colors Wind Waker appeals to a more expansive age group. Instead of the dark grotesque animations, Link is instead surrounded by fluid green and blues. For the time it was created in Wind Waker excelled in animation. Even though the 3–D animation was a relatively new and unestablished parameter, the animators did an impeccable job at creating a vivid platform. Although the game lacks the realism of today, it does however, compare closely to the more modernized generation of Nintendo games. Outstanding visuals can only be paired with energetic and exciting music. The songs are fitting for each play through, with every step you take there is a new synchronized melody playing in the background. Harmonizing with the beat of the music is a sound effect that matches the heartbeat of the game; pulling the whole piece ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Zelda Research Paper In a Nintendo Direct back in late January of 2013, Legend of Zelda series producer Eiji Aonuma claims that with Zelda WiiU, they plan to "rethink the conventions of Zelda" in order to get back to the basics of the franchise. Later, at the Game Awards in December of 2014, Aonuma along with series creator Shigeru Miyamoto showed off some footage of the game that, while only a small glimpse, really gives the vibe that they actually are trying to take the franchise back to its roots. This will be a breath of fresh air as most of the titles in the series don't even come close to feeling as much like a true adventure as the original did. Because you see, a journey isn't a journey without choice, and the original Legend of Zelda game makes near perfect use of it, unlike the rest of the games in the franchise which, in some way or another, tend to make a lot of the choices for you and make you go through pages of story and instructional dialogue where it isn't actually necessary. Since Zelda WiiU isn't far off in the distance, now seems like a better time than ever to go over some of the ways The Legend of Zelda for the Nintendo Entertainment ... There are a few cases however in which the item is also available somewhere else, but cheaper. It's up to the player to decide whether or not it's worth it to make the trek to the cheaper shop for the item or to play it safe and buy the item at a higher cost. In the 3D Zelda games, it's so easy to just smash pots, stab an enemy or cut grass to get rupees that there's no real gamble in buying items. To add to it, the original doubles rupees not just as your money but also as your ammunition for arrows. This helps to make money even more valuable, to the point where you'll often be indecisive about whether or not to buy an item or use your arrows in case you'll need that currency ... • 24. Zelda Ocarina Of Time Research Paper The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time was released in the November of 1998. Upon its release it was widely acclaimed from critics to players. It's rare for a game for its age to still be in talks today decades later. On "Metacritic" it's in the top 3 highest rated games of all time. It's a game every 90's kids remember and have played. No one expected for Ocarina of Time to split the Zelda timeline into 3 and leave the games into a whole new disaster. There are spoilers ahead for the Ocarina of Time, so be warned. Here is an explanation of the 3 Zelda timelines and where the games fit in them. The first timeline is known as the child era or the hero's descent era. In Ocarina we know that Link being sent back created "time splits" but Nintendo shocked people with a third timeline. A timeline where Link failed and died trying to defeat Ganon. This timeline is know as the "Fallen Hero Timeline." The games in this timeline are the games from the SNES and NES so they all have the same plot, being that Link must stop Ganon again to save the world. This timeline is the most questionable because it's hard to see Link fail and lead a depressing timeline. Notably, at first glance this book is profoundly intriguing as it is fantasy–fiction and creates an entire alternate universe for you to imagine and develop within your mind. For instance in one of my favourite games The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Link must collect the three spiritual stones before Ganondorf to save Hyrule from evil ways. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, built on a super customized/advanced version of Super Mario 64's engine, permitted new, never before seen features. Ocarina of time was originally ported on a 64DD peripheral cartridge. The game ended up released on a 256–megabit cartridge; the biggest Nintendo produced at the time due to the sheer size of Ocarina. Nintendo added a "targeting system" which was entirely new to video games and the camera mechanics were unprecedented. People felt that in a 3d game they couldn't move their character exactly where they wanted them to go while moving in a three dimensional environment, especially while targeting. Targeting can activate by pressing the Z trigger on the back of the N64 controller. This allowed the camera to "lock–onto" an important object. This way when you move, the camera stays centered on the enemy or important object. According to a Kotaku interview,Shigeru Miyamoto said "At that time there really was no blueprint for how to create that kind of game in a 3D space," he explains. "No–one had done it ... During the period 1970 to 1985, Nintendo began focusing on the manufacture of electronic toys and entered the budding field of video games [see Exhibit 1]. Interestingly, 1991, the year when Nintendo launched the highly popular Super NES in the US, was also the year that saw Nintendo's vision become Sony's opportunity–and the creation of what could be described as Nintendo's "greatest challenge" for over a decade – the Sony PlayStation ("PS"). Nintendo had wanted to incorporate CD–ROM into their Super NES, and Sony had agreed to create the PS for this purpose. However, over the next two years, conflicts of vision between Nintendo and Sony continued, and the two finally parted ways. Nintendo went ahead with Philips technology, 4 and Sony was left with the PS, which the company decided to continue developing. Given Sony's clout and resources, when the PS and its wide range of games were finally released in Japan in 1994, the console was an instant resounding success. In 1995, Sony released the PS in the US, totally uprooting Nintendo's established name in the industry. For many years, Nintendo had been a dominant player in the video game industry. It had sold more than two billion games since 1985. Its top–selling series included non–violent and easyto–play games such as Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda. The huge success of its games portfolio could be attributed to its appeal to all age groups across different
