G1. HOW ABOUT (NOUN)? (NOUN) は どう です か。
どう です か can be translated to “How is it?”
By preceding どう です か with a noun & the topic marker は

For example:
がっこう は どう です か。
How is school?
チョコレート は どう です か。
How about chocolate?
いちじ ごろ は どう です か。
How about around 1:00?
G2. THE INVITATIONAL FORM OF VERBS ～ませんか
Let’s look at the verb conjugations below:
Affirmative Negative
いきます いきません
go not go
In Japanese, when you want to invite someone to do something, you simply take
the negative form of the verb and add か at the end to form the invitational form
or, 〜ませんか. You would use this verb ending when you want to politely invite
someone to do something.

2. For example:
こうえん で テニス を しませんか。
Why don't we play tennis at the park?
1. テニス を します means “to play (do) tennis”
2. Conjugate the verb “します” to “しませんか”so that the sentence becomes
an invitation.
Some more examples:
クッキー を たべませんか。
Won’t you eat a cookie?
いきませんか。
Won’t you go?
G3. THE VOLITIONAL FORM OF VERBS
The volitional form of the verb allows the speaker to ask a question and make a
suggestion simultaneously. Usually in the flow of conversation, the volitional form
will be used after the speakers come to an agreement to do something together.
For example:
だいち: こうえん で テニス を しませんか。(invitation)
さくら: いいですね。なんじ に あいましょうか。(agreement)
In this case, Sakura is asking for a time to meet as well as politely suggesting
that she agrees to play tennis in the park.
To conjugate polite ~ます verbs into volitional form, simply change the ます
ending to ましょう. Add か at the end to form a question.
たべます たべましょう たべましょうか
Eat Let’s eat Shall we eat?
