2. This is the original image of the band and the black
masthead on top.The image has not been
manipulated in any way, shape or form.
3. In this screenshot, the masthead has been made bigger in size,
and the image of the band has been stretched out, as I am
following the codes and conventions of making sure that the
image of the band is a shot that is appropriate for the front
cover. The date, barcode, main coverline, price and issue number
have been applied.
4. In this screenshot, the background has been manipulated from
an off white/grey tone to a block white colour. Also, the shadows
from the models have been erased. This will make it look better
when a black to white gradient effect is applied.
5. The image of the band has
been stretched out even
more to follow the codes
and conventions.
In this screenshot, the
messy strand of hair
framing the models face in
the picture on the left has
been erased. This is to
make it look a little bit
neater and more of a
professional shot.
6. These two screenshots show the lighting change
from the models looking pale on the left image, and
slightly darker on the right image. This action was
carried out so that the models complexions contrast
from the white background, resulting in them
standing out more.
7. In this screenshot, the outline of models eyes have
been manipulated to create a darker look. The
purpose of this, is to make the eyes look slightly bolder
and stand out. This links in with my genre of rock, and
the dark colour scheme of my magazine overall.
8. In this screenshot, a gradient effect has been applied
to the background. The black colour at the top makes
the red masthead stand out from the page. The
gradient effect looks appealing and unique, as
opposed to a block colour.
9. Here, I used the paintbrush tool to get rid of
the white colour outlining the models so
that the image looks neater. The rest of the
features such as the cover lines, cover
mount, etc have been applied.
10. This last screen shot is the image of my final magazine. I took
into account the feedback which was given to me regarding
improvements that I could make in order to make my magazine
look better. Eg: ensuring that my issue number and date line
were the same font, and making the lighting bolt logo on the
masthead bigger and more significant.
