I conducteda focusgroup of fourfemaleswhofitthe descriptionof mytargetaudience whichare

magazine wasand theyall agreedthatthe pages representedthe Rockgenre. Some of the girls
thoughthat the mastheadrepresentedthisdue tothe font, the facial expressionsof some of the
modelsastheylookmoodyandhave a straightface whichlinkstomy genre. One of the girls
commentedonhowthe backgroundof one of the pictures(the one onthe contentspage whichhad
a blueishandwhite rockstyle inparticular) representedmygenre.Andlastly, one of the girls
mentionedhowthe handgesture of the male model onthe double page spreadsignifies rockmusic,
due to it beingawell-knownsymbol linkedtothistype of music.
I alsoaskedwhatfeatureswere mostsignificantandstoodoutfor eachpage, the majorityof them
commentedonthe use of the picturesmade a difference tothe page standingoutandcatchingtheir
eye.One of the participantscommentedonhow the boldfontonthe contentspage stoodout,as
well asthe imagesandthiscouldhave beendue to the size, the strokesonthe fontand positionof
featuressuchas the contentstitle (whichwaslarge andcentredatthe top of the page where itwas
clearlyvisible.)Theparticipantssaidhowtheyfeltthatthe targetaudience were eithermales
