2. Causes of AIDS
Specifically, HIV can transmit via:
Blood, semen, pre-seminal fluid, vaginal fluids, rectal fluids
Porn addiction that leads to unprotected sex
Homosexuality, bisexuality
other causes of HIV transmission are sharing equipment (syringes) for injecting
drugs.
Sharing same shaving kits.
Using infected medical equipments.
3. Less commonly, HIV transmits to babies during pregnancy,
childbirth, or breastfeeding.
Major cause can be poverty, human trafficking and prostitution.
Undetectable =untransmittable
HIV can only transmit through fluids that contain a certain amount of the virus. If a
person has undetectable levels of HIV, the virus cannot transmit to another person.
Doctors consider HIV to be undetectable when the amount of the virus in the
body is so low that a blood test cannot identify it.
4. Effects of HIV/AIDS on Body
• What is difference between HIV and
AIDS?
-HIV is human immunodeficiency virus which attacks and destroys
CD4 cells (t-cells or helper cells).
T-cells keep people healthy but when they’re attacked, immunity
system begins failing.
Without treatment, this cycle can continue until the immune system is
badly compromised, leaving a person at risk for serious illnesses
and infections.
The timing of diagnosis and treatment makes a huge difference.
5. • Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is
the final stage of HIV. At this stage, the immune
system is severely weakened, and the risk of
contracting even the minor infections is much
greater and can be fatal.
• However, not everyone with HIV will go on to
develop AIDS. The earlier a person receives
treatment, the better their outcome will be.
6. How it effects socio-economic
life?
STIGMA: that keeps the wound
bleeding
Dealing with stigma is most hardest part as itnleads to :
• Social isolation
• Poverty
• Impact on relationships
• Mental health problems
8. Coping Tips with HIV / AIDs
Understand your diagnosis
Find support
Work with your provider
Monitor your health
Be aware of possible complications
Protect others
Start treatment
Move forward with your life
9. Treatment reduce the amount of
HIV in Blood:
Antiretroviral therapy (ART)
Immunotherapy
10. If Treatment is delay:
HIV will harm the immune system.
If treatment is delay it will put the
person at higher risk for developing
AIDs and for transmitting HIV to your
sexual and injection partners.
