FUNCTIONAL UNIT Subsea Designer

REPORTING TO THE POSITION
1. DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONS
The Subsea Designer is responsible for the generation of various structural, piping,
pipeline or mechanical 2d / 3d Cad models & detailed engineering drawings as
instructed by the drawing office manager or the Senior or Lead subsea designer.
The Subsea Designer is also responsible for ensuring that the company drawing
office standards and any relevant industry standards are adhered to.
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
The Subsea Designer shall:
•Prepare 2d & 3d CAD models, Sketches, pipeline layouts, piping
isometrics, structural arrangements & detailed engineering drawings as
instructed by the drawing office manager or the Lead or Senior subsea
designer.
•Self-checking of all work prior to on passing for drafting and
engineering checks.
•Liase closely with responsible engineer to ensure correctness of design
and material selections.
•Familiarise yourself with and work to the company drawing office
standards.
•Ensure work is produced as neatly and accurately as possible and delivered
to agreed dates within the drawing register or as requested by the drawing
office manager / lead subsea designer.
•Ensure all Cad files are stored in the appropriate project folders.
•Supporting other discrete packages / work as may be required on a time-
to-time basis. This may involve, studies, development work, production of
guidelines or other similar work.
•Assisting in the training and development of other company personnel -
particularly new Graduate Engineer(s).
•The Subsea Engineer shall ensure that they comply with the Company
HSE Policy. It should be noted that each person has a responsibility for the
safety and quality aspects of the work that they undertake. Any questions or
concerns relating to HSE and/or the QMS should be brought to the attention
of the Drawing Office Manager.

5. QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
The individual must hold a formal qualification in a relevant engineering
discipline. Experience within Subsea engineering is preferable for the post.
Understanding of CAD drafting and Autocad systems utilising both 2D and 3D skills
is preferred.
