2. HISTORY OF RNB
Rhythm and blues is abbreviated to R&B or RnB by many people it is a
genre of popular African-American music that originated in the 1940s.
In 1940 Louis Jordan was in the top five listings of the R&B charts with
three songs. The instruments which were used for RnB were piano, one
or two guitars, bass, drums, saxophone, and sometimes background
vocalists. In the 1980s, a new style of R&B was formed, it was known as
Contemporary R&B. It combines elements of rhythm and blues, soul,
funk, pop, hip hop and dance. Known musicians the in 2000’s consisted
of Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and
Mariah Carey.

This interview is of a famous singer in RnB called Beyoncé. She is very
current at the moment with the younger target audience which RnB is
targeted for. She very well known for her RnB songs and is very often in
the charts. In this interview she is wearing Gold hoops, this symbolises
her wealth and gives off a urban/street feel which I would want to do in
my Magazine.

This interview is of another famous singer/rapped called Drake. He is also
very current in the charts and with the target audience of
teenagers/young people. In this interview he also gives off the street
feel by him wearing a cap. This is something which I will want to do in
my magazine.

charts and Billboard charts are very big chart companies which shows how
