and therefore it engages the reader and creates questions for
them because it’s not directly telling you what it’s about. They

because in the headline it talks about ‘new skin’ and in the image
it looks like someone’s peeling old skin off their face.
Then, in the sub-headline,
they really reveal who this
is about and what they
mean by ‘old skin, new
bones’ which then makes
the reader want to read
the actual text. They have
put the band’s name in
black contrasting against
the rest of the text being
white which makes it
stand out from the rest.

They've also included a pull quote at the bottom resting underneath the smallest piece of text on
the page. This pull quote is in white bold font which makes it stand out even more from the rest. It
is a quote from part of the interview which will draw the reader in to read the whole thing
because they'll want to know what happens. Once again, they've put the name 'Gustav Wood'
underneath in black contrasting against the rest of the white text on the page so it catches the
readers eye. This is effective because fans of Young Guns will be familiar with his name and will
want to read about him.
The main image is a picture of the person that's being
interviewed; Gustav Wood from the rock band Young Guns.
Straight away this would attract the target audience
because they would most likely listen to this band and be
familiar with the members. Because they;re fans, they would
be intrigued to read about him.

the most. The reader will then see this and wonder what the
articles about and will go on to read the sub-headline and then the
full text. It is also resting against a black background which makes
the white text contrast against it, making it stand out even more,
