2. Location Recce
In front of a mirrored
wardrobe, in place of
a dressing room.
Lighting is a simple
over head lamp.
Costume worn is
drama blacks, staying
neutral and simple
whilst sticking to the
genre.
A blank white wall with
lighting from a simple floor
lamp. The white wall acts as a
plain backdrop, bring the
focus on the face of the
subject.
Some pictures are taken
sat on a piano. The only
costume is drama blacks
and there are no further
props.

3. Risk Assessment
Risks were very
few and not
very dangerous.
Set, props and
makeup were
kept simple and
easy.

4. Prop List
To keep the shots as simple as possible, I decided
to be very minimalistic with use of props. As the
main cover photo will be a close-up, the use of
props was unnecessary for this.
For the double-page spread, I use a piano to
represent the genre and reflect the songs
mentioned in the article.

5. Makeup
I decided to draw inspiration for the makeup
from examples of stage makeup used in or
based on theatre. It is common for the
makeup to be most exaggerated around the
eyes, so I tried to focus it there.

6. CostumesThe main cover photo doesn’t show a costume as it
is a close-up focused on the actors face and
makeup.
Throughout the rest of the magazine, the costumes
are drama-blacks; basic black, tight clothing. These
are worn by actors before the costume is put on. I
chose these basic costumes to show that the
magazine is giving insight to what goes on behind
the curtain of a theatre.

7. Texts/Emails
Planning the photo shoot
was easy and went on
without trouble, delay or
interruption.
