• India is a land of different cultures
• The diversity can see in languages, climate,
vegetation, customs and tradition, religions etc.,
• India is a country, which gave platform for the birth of
many world religious like Hinduism, Buddhism,
Jainism etc.,
• It is the land which allowed assimilating the
philosophy and ideology of non-Indian religions like
Christianity, Islam, etc.,
• Islam is one of the important Religion of India Only
after Hinduism.

Highest number of Muslims in India only.
• Nearly 14% total population of India are Muslims.
• Many of the Islamic dynasties are Ruled in India.
like, Delhi Sultans, Mughals, Bahamani Sultans,
etc.., and they are contributed many wonderful
architectures, monuments and tombs. Which are
main attractions of tourists. like, Tajmahal, Jama
masjid Delhi, Red Fort, Kutub Minar etc..,

HISTORY OF ISLAM & PROPHET
• In Arabic Islam Means Submission, Obedience, or Peace.
• Prophet Muhammad(S) (571-634 A.D) is the Founder of
Islam.
• Prophet born in Mecca in 571 A.D.
• In his childhood he lost his parents and it was his uncle Abu
Talib who looked after him.
• He became a trader and undertook trade Journeys for a
widow called Khadijah and later got married to her. Their
daughter was Fathima.
• During his journeys he met many Jews and Christians who
were worshiping images and revolted the concept of
worshiping many gods and bowing down the Images.

• At the age of 40, he heard the angel Gabriel
greeting him as prophet of Allah.

Shahadah:- Bearing witness that there is no
God but Allah and Muhammad is His
prophet.
Salath:- Praying Five times daily.
Sawm:- Fasting during the month of
Ramadan.
Zakat:- Giving Charity or alms to those in
need.
Hajj:- Making Pilgrimage to Mecca.

• Islam came to India in the beginning of the
11th century A.D.
• There is two sects in Islam. Such as, Sunni and
Shias. Islam was weakened by the quarrel
between these two sects.
• At present Islam is one of the important
religion of India.

DESTINATIONS IN INDIA
• India has several pious Muslim destinations.
Such as, Dargah Hazaratbal in Jammu and
Kashmir, Ajmer Sharif (The Dargah of Khwaja
Moin-ud-din Chishti) in Ajmer and Haji Ali
Dargah in Mumbai are the most popular
Muslim pilgrimage destinations in India.
• These destinations offer the visitor a peace they
always wanted. Along with this, they also get a
chance to connect with the history of Islam,
which further enlightens their soul.

1.HAZARTBUL SHRINE (SRINAGAR)
• Located in Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir).
• Its pristine white marble beauty is reflected
in the waters of the Dal Lake.
• It contains the relics of prophet Muhammad
(s) (Hair of Prophet).
• The devotees are allowed to view that relic
only once a year and therefore, it attracts a
large number of pilgrims during this
occasion.

2.AJMER SHARIF DARGAH (AJMER)
• Located in Ajmer (Rajasthan).
• It is the shrine of Gharib Nawaz Khwaja
Moinuddin chisthi.
• It is the oldest and biggest dargah in South
Asia.
• Mughal style of architecture.
• It is a famous pilgrimage centre where
people from different religious backgrounds

3.HAJI ALI DARGAH (MUMBAI)
• Located in Mumbai (Maharastra).
• It is the Tomb of great Muslim Saint Haji Ali.
• His selfless love and services towards the
people made him a highly revered personality.
• More than 40,000 pilgrims visit this shrine to
offer chaddar and sincere prayers.
• During URS (Death anniversary of st) and Eid-
E-Milad-Un-Nabi, special rituals are
performed.

4.SHEIKH SALIM CHISTHI’S DARGAH
(FATEHPUR SIKRI)
• Situated in Fatehpur Sikri.
• It is white marble tomb of sheikh Salim
Chisthi.
• It is considered as a very sacred place among
Hindus as well as Muslims.
• This beautiful mosque was constructed by
Akbar in the middle of Sikri complex with its
place, courts, baths and gardens...,
5.JAMA MASJID (DELHI)
• Located in old Delhi
• Largest Mosque in India
• Built by Mugal Emperor ShahJahan (1650 A.D)
• This Mughal has three gates, four towers, and
240m high minarets, which are constructed
with the strips of red sandstone and white
marbles.
• The mosque has been designed by Usthad
Khalil.

6.CHERMAN JUMA MASJID
(KODUNGALORE)
• Situated in Kodungalore (Kerala).
• Built by the Malik Ibn Dinar ( Indian First
follower of Prophet Muhammad) in 629
A.D.
• It is considered to be first mosque in
India.

7.MECCA MASJID (HYDERABAD)
• It is located in Hyderabad (Telungana).
• Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah was started the
construction work of mosque, but completed
by mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1694 A.D.
• It is constructed from the bricks which were
made by the soil brought from Mecca, the
holiest Islamic Site.
• The main hall of mosque is 75 feet high, 220
feet wide and 180 feet long. Enough to
accommodate 10,000 worshipers at a time.

8.CHAR-MINAR (HYDERABAD)
• Situated in Hyderabad (Andra Pradesh).
• The ‘‘Char-Minar’’ means “Four Tower” or
“Mosque of the four Minarets”.
• Built by Sultan Quli Qutub shah.
• The mosque is created from granite, mortar
and lime and it is the mixture of mosque and
arc blended together.
• It is an important religious emblem attracting
commoners and visitors from different parts

HISTORY OF ISLAM & PROPHET • In Arabic Islam Means Submission, Obedience, or Peace. • Prophet Muhammad(S) (571-634 A.D) is the Founder of Islam. • Prophet born in Mecca in 571 A.D. • In his childhood he lost his parents and it was his uncle Abu Talib who looked after him. • He became a trader and undertook trade Journeys for a widow called Khadijah and later got married to her. Their daughter was Fathima. • During his journeys he met many Jews and Christians who were worshiping images and revolted the concept of worshiping many gods and bowing down the Images. Achu Rockers

  • 16. 1.HAZARTBUL SHRINE (SRINAGAR) • Located in Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir). • Its pristine white marble beauty is reflected in the waters of the Dal Lake. • It contains the relics of prophet Muhammad (s) (Hair of Prophet). • The devotees are allowed to view that relic only once a year and therefore, it attracts a large number of pilgrims during this occasion.   • 20. 3.HAJI ALI DARGAH (MUMBAI) • Located in Mumbai (Maharastra). • It is the Tomb of great Muslim Saint Haji Ali. • His selfless love and services towards the people made him a highly revered personality. • More than 40,000 pilgrims visit this shrine to offer chaddar and sincere prayers. • During URS (Death anniversary of st) and Eid- E-Milad-Un-Nabi, special rituals are performed.   • 24. 5.JAMA MASJID (DELHI) • Located in old Delhi • Largest Mosque in India • Built by Mugal Emperor ShahJahan (1650 A.D) • This Mughal has three gates, four towers, and 240m high minarets, which are constructed with the strips of red sandstone and white marbles. • The mosque has been designed by Usthad Khalil.   • 26. 6.CHERMAN JUMA MASJID (KODUNGALORE) • Situated in Kodungalore (Kerala). • Built by the Malik Ibn Dinar ( Indian First follower of Prophet Muhammad) in 629 A.D. • It is considered to be first mosque in India. Achu Rockers
  • 28. 7.MECCA MASJID (HYDERABAD) • It is located in Hyderabad (Telungana). • Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah was started the construction work of mosque, but completed by mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1694 A.D. • It is constructed from the bricks which were made by the soil brought from Mecca, the holiest Islamic Site. • The main hall of mosque is 75 feet high, 220 feet wide and 180 feet long.   • 30. 8.CHAR-MINAR (HYDERABAD) • Situated in Hyderabad (Andra Pradesh). • The ‘‘Char-Minar’’ means “Four Tower” or “Mosque of the four Minarets”. • Built by Sultan Quli Qutub shah. • The mosque is created from granite, mortar and lime and it is the mixture of mosque and arc blended together. • It is an important religious emblem attracting commoners and visitors from different parts of the country.
