1. Day 4:
A- Analyze Learners
I will be teaching 6’s multiplication to a third grade class. There
are ten boys and seven girls. 80% white and 20% African
American.
S- State Objective
My third grade class will be able to say their 6s by the end of the
day. They will learn a song to help them memorize this
multiplication table. They will also play a game on WebQuest. They
will be able to recite these with 100% accuracy by the end of the
day.
S- Select Methods, Media, and Material
Based on the different skill levels of the students, they will learn a
song at the beginning of the day. I will teach the song by breaking
it up into parts. There will be a problem on the smart board they
will have to discuss with their group. This will be done before
class really starts to get their brain going. They will also play a
game from WebQuest.
U- Utilize Media and Material
The students will all get to pull an equation out of the hat. They
will be split into groups where one will go over the equation on
the smart board and discuss. Another group will be on the
computers playing the game on the WebQuest. The last group will
be with me recording them saying the 6 multiplication table on a
podcast so they can say it with themselves once they go home.
R- Require Learners Participation
The students will be working on these stations during class. We
will go over the song as a class once everyone has memorized it.
We will also play be going over the equation on the smart board
and discussing it. They will all be given a sheet of paper with
either an equation or answer. I will call a particular answer or
equation and whoever has the opposite of what I said will stand.
E- Evaluate and Revise
2. We will go over the song as a class once everyone has finished the
different stations. We will once again say the multiplication table
aloud and if anyone has any questions or confusion about
anything they can ask at this time. The students will be graded on
their participation and how well the students know this particular
table. I will listen to their PodCast to make sure they said it right
and that’s what their main grade will be on.
